Happy Birthday

Today is my oldest son's 13th birthday...amazing how the years have flown!  I made this card for him yesterday using some Gina K Designs stamps, including the new Birthday Greetings clear stamp set. Have you tried GKD clear stamps yet???  I used to be a red rubber stamp kinda girl, but this past year have loved the convenience/quality of clear stamps and most impressed with the ones GKD is now offering!  I stamped the star (from Stars) using Memento Nautical Blue ink onto Kraft cardstock and combined it with the dots from Vintage Backgrounds.  I used the Notebook Edge and By the Numbers die-namics from My Favorite Things.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

NinaB Designs Blog Hop

Welcome to another NinaB Designs blog hop. The NBD team and I have something exciting for you today. We were challenged to create something that uses the NinaB Designs Spellbinders die cuts from non-paper products on our projects. Did you know that Spellbinders dies can cut all kinds of material? Kim Hupke, the Educational Director of Spellbinders Paper Arts did a video showing all types of products you can cut with the dies that you can find HERE. For my project today, I die cut a piece of canvas using the sewing machine die from Sewing Elements with NinaB Designs' dies.

I also used the clear stamp set Sew Lovely from The Craft's Meow, as well as Vintage Backgrounds for the polka dots.  I die cut the sewing machine using sticky back cancas and gently sponged it with Memento Toffee Crunch ink.   I added some corrugated card stock and lace that I sponged with Rose Bud ink.
Here are the dies I used:

Here are the prizes to be won.
Winners will be picked randomly from 5 of the designers' blogs:
Everybody is welcome to comment and eligible to win. Nina will announce the winners on May 22 and have 4 days to claim their prize. Please consider liking the following Facebook pages that are represented on today's hop, so you don't miss the latest news and happenings:

I hope we've inspired you all today! Happy hopping!

Card Patterns 87 ~ Merci

I saw the Card Patterns 87 challenge today and managed to squeeze in just a bit of stamping (amongst other things going on here today, lol!)

I used the Rose Blossom Frame Cling Art Stamp (since Layers of Color Art Stamps is now a Spellbinders Preferred Stamp Company this stamp works perfectly with Nestabilities Labels 16).  I paired the frame with the beautiful Embroidered Butterfly Cling Art Stamp and the sentiment is from the clear art stamp Merci Bouquet.  The background was created by sponging Memento Cantaloupe and Fired Brick Distress ink, and stamping the text from Nina's set Vintage Backgrounds in Rich Cocoa.

Here is a closer picture of the butterfly:

The picture doesn't show it as well, but I outlined parts of the butterfly with a Stardust pen, it really sparkles beautifully!

GKD Challenge Team Thank You Hop

Tonight we are having a special blog hop to thank our recently retired StampTV Challenge Hostess Team members:

These 5 designers have provided StampTV with a challenge each week during the months of June, July and August.

Here is a card I made for Carla:

I followed her color challenge of using Black, Ivory and one other color (STVCOLORCS9), which for me was red!  For this card, I used Gifts from the Sea, Lovely Labels and the fabulous crackle stamp from Bold Flowers.

Here is the card I made for Linda:

Grand Damask

I followed her Heat Embossing Challenge in (STVBLASTLP5).  For my card, I used Grand Damask and Fanicful Tags (and the worded background is from Vintage Backgrounds, obviously personal favorite of mine!).  I embossed the damask image using Versamark and a spectrum ink pad.

And here is Giovana's card:

Snowflake

I used Giovana's pink Christmas card challenge Embossing with shades of Pink (STVXMASGS7).  I think I found the design for some Christmas cards this year, lol!  I used the snowflake from Blessed is the Season and the sentiment from Holiday Greetings with Lovely Labels 2

We have a special StampTV Challenge Magazine Volume 3* located on the Freebie Tab, where all of their challenges are shared in a download PDF that you can save to your computer and print out at your leisure!

Please join in our Thank You Discussion on Stamp TV and feel free to play along and say thank you with your own take on one of their challenges!!!

The next stop on this STV Challenge Team Thank You Hop is my dear talented friend....Vicki!

Life's Moments

One of my favorite stamped sentiments (or sayings) is this one from Timeless Treasures...   The font is beautiful perfectly highlighting the words that carry such promise of the many events in life that truly do take your breath away.  I made the flower with the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals Sizzix die and stamped the printed pattern from Vintage Backgrounds.   The edges of about everything was sponged with Antique Linen Distress ink and added some pearls and lace.

It is a busy weekend here starting off with a Little League baseball game tonight.  Our oldest son is in the tournament and hoping to win and go to the Championship Game...  Will see, either way son has had a great season and played his best.  It is one of those "moments" I treasure!  I do hope you have a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for stopping by!

STV Color Challenge

I made this for Janice's Color Challenge over on Stamp TV this week.  The colors are In the Navy, Pumpkin Spice, Ivory and a bit of Chocolate Brown (the ribbon).  I used the new Lovely Labels 2 (don't you just love labels that match up with Spellbinders dies....Oh my, I do!)  I also used Vintage Backgrounds and Vintage Borders to  create a background and the sentiment is from Elegant Verses.  The edges were distressed a bit and sponged with Tea Dye Distress ink.  This sentiment means so much when you consider what the Bible teaches about our countenance....

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a beautiful day!

Grand Damask and Fanciful Tags make the quickest cards...  I made one similar to a birthday cards a few weeks ago only this time used Chocolate Brown and Sweet Corn.  Using the kissing technique, I stamped on the inked damask with the worded background from Vintage Backgrounds.  Very simple card to put together and nice to have an extra wedding card in my stash.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend.  Our was so busy I am looking forward to a Monday, lol!

CP81 ~ Faithful Florals

I made this for the Card Patterns 81 challenge.  I have been wanting to try Flower Soft on these flowers from Faithful Florals and this sketch worked for what I had in mind.  Obviously I was also in a polka dot mood so used the Seeing Spots CB folder and the dot background from Vintage Backgrounds.  I added a bit of ric rac and the felt flowers are just from my stash...  Do you see the new Labels 16...oh my, I just love this shape and know you will be seeing it a LOT!  I was recently at my LSS and managed to pick up Labels 15 and 16 and truly they are some of my favorite.  Such a fun shape!

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful start to your week!

CP80

I made this for the Card Patterns challenge this week and used my dear friend Janice's FAB color challenge from Stamp TV (she is the new hostess this month).  You can find more details HERE.
I used the stamp set Vintage Backgrounds to create a worded background on both Kraft/ Lipstick Red and since fall is right around the corner got out a favorite set Autumn Beauty.  Love this sunflower!
I used Flower Soft Autumn in the center of the sunflower and colored the sunflower with Copics.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

GKD Sneak Peek: Grand Damask and Fanciful Tags

Gina K Designs is having another release this coming Thursday night at 10pm (CST) and two of the sets being released are Grand Damask and Fanciful Tags from Nina Brackett. If you have been looking for flourishes, a damask image, sentiments in a beautiful fancy font or a set of stamps to match up with Fancy Tags from Spellbinders...well this set is for you!

For this card, I used Vintage Backgrounds to *KISS* on the damask image before stamping on Ivory cardstock. Can you see the *kissing* possibilities with this image, oh my! The birthday sentiment is from Fanciful Tags, just love the font of these sentiment. I used the colors Black Oynx, Lovely Lavender and Ivory, as well as some 5/8" Black Gingham Ribbon.

This next card I kept simpler and have found some Nesties that work very well with this large damask image (Big Scallop Circles and Labels Nine...though I am sure there are more!)...

I stamped the flourishes on Liptstick Red cardstock using Fired Brick Tim Holtz Distress ink and again used Black Oynx and Ivory.

I know the Gina K Designs Design Team has created some beautiful designs with this set and will definitely be hopping along over there myself. You can find more information on Gina K's blog.

Precious...

The week has just flown by.... School is going well and we are back in the swing of things. Stamping time has been hard to come by this week, but I have managed a little bit ;o)

This card uses a favorite color combo of Lipstick Red and Sweet Corn. I used the stamp sets Vintage Backgrounds and Hugs and Prayers, which has the most precious Scripture verses especially during life's most difficult moments. I used the back end of one of the stamps with a flower and used it as a flourish... just a big fan of flourishes.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Belated Birthday Card

My dad turned 62 on Sunday and due to my crazy week this didn't go postal until Monday. I just realized I used 5 different stamp sets on this card: Vintage Backgrounds, Masculine Messages, Inside and Out, Lovely Labels (just a fav!), and Timeless Treasures. The patterned paper is My Mind's Eye which I purchased back in July and finally got the nerve to cut it...so difficult to do. It just makes me sad to cut into a 12x12 piece, silly I know. Anyone know if My Mind's Eye makes 8x8 or 6x6 paper packs? Wouldn't that be cool!!!!

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

On the Move: Moxie Fab Fun and Cute Challenge

Today's card is for a Moxie Fab Challenge: Fun and Cute. I used Tami Mayberry's Oh Boy! stamp set as well as the polka dots from Vintage Backgrounds. The actual sketch for this card is one Melissa had over on Stamp TV (which has great sketches if you are ever at a loss for where to start). The helicopter was paper pieced with a scrap piece of Fancy Pants The Daily Grind patterned paper.

It has been a busy couple of days and much to be thankful for.... In addition to answered prayers, I was notified yesterday of several cards picked up for publication and so very excited!! I am still pinching myself and re-reading the emails :o) I pray you have a wonderful day!

CSS Alumni Blog Hop

Welcome to a fun blog hop being hosted by members of StampTV Center Stage Alumni. A group of us have decided to get together a couple of times a month and host a themed hop in order to share our love for Gina K. stamps. If you've arrived from Jen's Blog then you're at the right place! To start at the beginning, please go to StampTV and hop from there.

The challenge for this hop is a Color Challenge ~ Kraft or Tan Leather, Green (Creme de Menthe, Grass Green, Fresh Asparagus, or Green Apple) and White. Here's what I came up with:

I used the stamp set Hugs and Prayers and Vintage Backgrounds for my card. One technique I haven't used yet with this set is Emboss Resist and thought it was about time and this hop was the perfect occasion. The patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety.

Ready for more inspiration? Hop on over to Joan's Blog to see her beautiful project!
Thanks for stopping by and have wonderful weekend.

Limelight Papercrafts DT Challenge: Weddings!

Welcome to another Limelight Papercrafts Blog Hop! Mandy challenged us to create either a keepsake, gift, favor, and a card with a wedding theme. At first I was completely stumped trying to think of something that would last... would be a keepsake...and finally thought of photos! I made a card and altered a CD holder that could be used for either wedding photos or DVD of the couple's wedding.

For my projects, I used some more beautiful Webster's Pages patterned paper (from Garden Gala/Seaside Retreat/Nature's Storybook) and some Crochet Natural Trim. The flowers were made from a Tim Holtz Tatterered Florals Sizzix die and stamped with the worded background from Vintage Backgrounds. The wedding sentiment is from A Beautiful Life.

Here is a look at the CD holder, using the same patterned paper...

Be sure and stop by the Limelight Papercrafts Design Team for even more wedding themed inspiration:

I hope this gives you an idea for a wedding gift to include for a couple you know who might be getting married soon. Thanks so much for stopping by...

I made my card using Groovy Guava, Ivory and patterned paper from Lullaby Lane & Life's Portrait from Webster's Pages. I also used some May Arts Crochet Trim Natural Lace. The sketch for this is from the Go-To Sketches magazine (which I am really enjoying). I used the stamp sets Lovely Labels, Vintage Backgrounds, and Botanicals.

Here are the colors for the Play Date Cafe challenge:

I hope you can play along this week with this amazing color challenge...it really is a soothing color combination. Have a wonderful day!
