Karing for Karen Blog Hop

Welcome to a special blog hop that we are calling, Karing for Karen!!  If you have been around the stamping community for any length of time at all, you might have run into Karen Knegten.  She is always participating in challenges and offering us wonderful inspiration with her amazing talent!   For those who may not have heard, about a month ago Karen had to have surgery for two brain aneurysms.  She is still in the hospital and we are having this blog to inspire more of you out there to send in some cards to Karen AND to her family that is caring for her too! So hope you feel inspired with our little hop for you today.

Here is my card for the Knegten family...

I used various Gina K. Designs stamp sets: Nature's Greeting, Vintage Borders (for the musical score), and a sentiment from Faithful Florals.  The patterned paper is from Teresa Collins Everyday Moments and a little bling from Want2Scrap.

Here is a close up of the center panel where you can better see the musical score:

Below you will find all of the links to all of the girls participating...these are from the CSS Alumni group and the Design Team from Gina K Designs. Enjoy and be inspired to send a card or two in! Here is the address for sending the cards to:

Layers of Color: Friends Forever

I have been so blessed by the friendships I have made via Layers of ColorGrace is one of those I connected with right away for her sweet and uplifting spirit.  Her love for the Lord and care for others has been an encouragement to me.  When my husband was in the hospital this past summer Grace  shared with me Psalm 73:26 which was such a great comfort to me (as His Word is for believers).
This card was completely inspired by Grace...I used the Cottage Rose cling art stamp and colored it with Copics.  I also added a musical score since when I think of Grace, I think of the uplifting music that  plays on her blog when you visit...  Her blog is truly a joy to visit...I promise it will be inspiring!!!

Grace is stepping down from the Layers of Color Design Team and while she will be greatly missed, we know that she won't be going far :o).  She is a dear "Friend of LOC" and the entire LOC DT is looking forward to seeing her creative designs in the future. And I still hope to meet her at a LSS and have a nice cup of coffee :o)  Blessings to you Grace, you have been a blessing to me!!!

Be sure to check out the rest of the LOC DT for more inspirational designs as we bid a sweet "see you around friend!"

Moxie Chic Tuesday Trigger

This card was inspired by the Trigger Tuesday Challenge: Moxie Chic over on Moxie Fab.  I used Heirloom Ornaments, the Christmas wording backgroung from Vintage Borders, and the sentiment is from Fanciful Tags.  The patterned paper is from Webster's Pages.  I loved the pop of pink in the trigger and added it to the top of my ornament.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Lovely Labels 2: Christmas

Graphic 45 meets Lovely Labels 2.... Have you seen the new Graphic 45 patterned paper for Christmas, oh my!  The sentiment for this is from Vintage Borders.  I rounded the edges of the layered piece, but kept the card base itself plain.  This would be a nice and simple design for Christmas cards minus the ribbon if you are wanting to save on postage (which I will be, lol!)

**Just to clarify on the zip line from my post yesterday.  I should have explained it better.  We were on the zip line for 1 1/2 - 2 hours going from perch to perch (much like a bird), not zipping constantly for one long zip line.  I don't think I could handle that, blah!  Here is a picture of us cabling down from the last perch.  My youngest is watching for his brother with me:

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

STV Color Challenge

I made this for Janice's Color Challenge over on Stamp TV this week.  The colors are In the Navy, Pumpkin Spice, Ivory and a bit of Chocolate Brown (the ribbon).  I used the new Lovely Labels 2 (don't you just love labels that match up with Spellbinders dies....Oh my, I do!)  I also used Vintage Backgrounds and Vintage Borders to  create a background and the sentiment is from Elegant Verses.  The edges were distressed a bit and sponged with Tea Dye Distress ink.  This sentiment means so much when you consider what the Bible teaches about our countenance....

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a beautiful day!

Lovely Labels 2

Vicki over on Stamp TV has a great sketch this week and you can find more details HERE to play along.  For my card,  I used some Graphic 45 Christmas Past patterned paper that my dear BFF Linda surprised me with for my birthday back in August (isn't it a beautiful pattern...oh my,...it is actually hard to cut into, lol!).  I stamped the label (from Lovely Labels 2) directly on the patterned paper and used the reverse side of the patterned paper to layer on Soft Sand/Chocolate Brown card base.  The verse is from Vintage Borders and a favorite to use on Christmas cards.   I am thinking this will be one of the cards I made this year.  I like to make a nice assortment having layered ones to give out personally and more CAS designs for mailing (with some exceptions, lol!)

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have wonderful start to a new week!

Moxie Fab Challenge: Christmas

My wonderful mail lady delivered by Gina K. Designs stamps this past Saturday and I have been wallowing in all of their splendor :o) Yep, I mean *wallowing* and it has been so much fun. AND for your GKD fans...oh my goodness is this going to be a great release... I can't say too much, but AHHHHHHHH :o)))

I did manage to create a card that I can share... (no, not with the new stamp sets...that will be on Sunday night so mark your calendars!)...
Vicki is the new hostess over on STV for the sketch challenge I just love her work and HAD to make a bit of time to create for that... I used Vintage Borders and some favorite GKD colors Kraft and Cranberry Tart together...(yummo!) This also fits the guidelines for the Moxie Fab Olympic Challenge being a Christmas card :o) (love double duty cards)

Well, I have some more creating I need to do with some soon to be released sets...so exciting. So far I have 9 cards made for the release (and I am so excited to share) and so many more ideas in my noggin'.... Have a great day!
Blessings,

Olympic Challenge

I am enjoying creating cards for the Olympic Challenge over on Moxie Fab... The musical score background is from Vintage Borders and I used Lovely Labels to frame the sentiment from Eclectic Summer Sayings. The panel of patterned is Webster's Pages and I sure hope to find someone online that sells this paper...I bought the last one from my LSS :o)
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Thank You...

Thank you so much for so many of your sweet comments for Melanie's recent blog hop! Melanie is just amazing and so very creative. I enjoy working with anything she illustrates and just saw some sneak peeks for the upcoming release on Thursday night and my wallet is concerned...I am trying to be careful but they are making it utterly impossible! LOL!

I made various thank you cards for all of the thoughtful gifts and gestures extended to our family over the Christmas season and was pleased with how this one came together. I wanted to simply a bit, but still have a nice looking card. The patterned paper is some old SU I had from many years ago and matches perfectly with Gina K. Designs Cranberry Tart (which also happens to be a favorite color now...so much better than Cranberry Crisp even and I was a huge fan of that color). I stamped the border using Nina's set Vintage Borders and the sentiment is from the Holiday Cheer Stamp TV Kit.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful day!

Merry Christmas

I made this card using a sketch from Stamp TV from the latter part of November. I just love the layers of this card and in this case "crooked" works for me. :o) The Moxie Fab Challenge is Christmas in the Old Country and I think this fits for that theme.

I like the Kraft cardstock with the Real Red and Chocolate Chip. Not the typical Christmas colors, but it works. I used Nina's stamp set Vintage Borders to create the background for the focal image and love the various languages of Merry Christmas. I also used Tami Mayberry's set Calendar Bits and Pieces for the snowflake and sentiment. All in all a very easy card to put together.
Blessings,

CPS143

Can you believe this Thursday is Thanksgiving? I am amazed with how the month of November has flown by! This year my parents are joining us for Thanksgiving and we have much to be thankful for!

I had a little time over the weekend to stamp and made this card for the CPS sketch challenge. I used two stamp sets: Vintage Borders and the snowflake from Calendar Bits and Pieces....Speaking of which, there is going be a blog hop Monday night at 10 CST for this fun new perpetual calendar set by Tami Mayberry. I was asked to participate and can't wait to share what I made.... Here is a itty bitty sneak peek :o)

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Vintage Borders ~ Peace

Are you ready for a fun Gina K. Designs Blog Hop?? I know I am :o) The idea was started by Jessica over on Stamp TV to have a special Blog Hop featuring the newest released Gina K. Designs stamp sets. My card features the stamp set by Nina Brackett called Vintage Borders. I
had some K&Company designer paper I bought years ago and paired it with Cranberry Tart cardstock.  The ornaments were stamped with Rhubarb Memento and embossed with Clear Embossing powder.

Each one of us participating will be linking our project up over at Gina's blog with Mr. Linky so if you are looking for some inspiration, this is the place to be!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Vintage Borders

I made this card using Nina's new set Vintage Borders and this time embossed the musical score with Gold Embossing Powder. The wording background was stamped with Elegant Eggplant on Ivory cardstock. I just love the colors on this even though they aren't the traditional Christmas colors. As I was making this card, it made me realize how soon I will be needing to mass produce some to send.  Eeks, need to get moving on that! :o) How many cards do you send each year? I need to make about 50...um, I think, need to check on that too!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Blessings,

Vintage Verse

The weekend went by fast!!!  Last week we were out of town on vacation...we enjoyed being up in the mountains, but my poor hubby came down with a virus that has been hard to shake!  I don't know about y'all, but I enjoy going away for vacation, but I love coming home again!

When I got home I had a new stamp set waiting for me: Vintage Borders.  I was just itching to get it inky ASAP, but had unpacking, settling and other things so it had to wait a bit. :o)  The musical score is very classic looking and will be a beautiful accent for designing cards in the future.   For this card,  I used some K&Company dp I bought years ago and love the vintage look to the paper.  I lightly sponged with Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress ink to age it a bit more and lightly sponged over my focal image.  I thought a strip of ivory tulle would be a nice accent to the image so wrapped it around the bottom panel before adhering.

Thank you so much for your sweet comments on my blog!   I truly appreciate the time you take to visit and comment and hope you have a wonderful day!
Blessings,
