CAS Sympathy

Today I have a quick sympathy card that I made for the family of Lynn Brookside.  I met Lynn via StampTV and she was always such an encouragement to me and so many others.  I have met some sweet people online as well as in person through paper crafting and thank the Lord for it!!

For my card I used Sheltering Cherry Blossom from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and stamped the flower image with Memento Dandelion.  If you would like more info about Lynn, please check out Melanie's posts HERE.

Your Kindness

I managed to squeeze some card making in this morning while Jeb was working on some coloring papers. I know you have seen these leaves (from Foliage Fancy) before...but I am longing for fall. This set was illustrated by my dear friend Nina and love the two-step stamping possibilities.
The solid leaf image was stamped with a spectrum pad and with the outline image was stamped with Rich Cocoa. I  distressed the edges and I sprayed it with a little Rich Cocoa Fireworks spray. I am entering this into the Moxie Fab World: Card Design Handbook Week: The Repitition Challenge

Wildflowers

Hello!  I managed to make a quick card last night using Wildflowers from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and coloring direct to stamp using PITT artist Big Brush pens (in Ochre, May Green, Green Olive and Caput Mortuum).  I stamped over the image Friendship Script Background with Old Paper distress ink and distressed the edges.  Very easy peasy.... :)

Thanks

I have a quick card to share that I made really fast using Foliage Fancy from Penny Black. The solid image was stamped using a Spectrum ink pad from Tsukineko and then each leaf was stamped a second time with the outline image using Memento Black Tuxedo. I stamped one extra leaf on scrap paper, trimmed and added a sentiment to a ribbon die.
Really FAST...in fact, thinking of making an assortment of these to have on hand.

Grateful For You

I recently won a contest over on the Penny Black blog and received some wonderful goodies from Penny Black...such a FUN package to open... thank you Penny Black :)  One of the sets I received was Foliage Fancy which I just LOVE!!!

I made this card using the solid images from the set and gelatos from Design Memory Craft (Faber Castell). I spritzed the stamp with water and used the chapstick tubes to color directing on the solid leaf images before stamping on ivory cardstock. (Some generational stamping was done as well to fill the panel). After I was finished, I used a Black Big Brush pen which I colored onto my craft mat and picked up the ink using a wet paint brush flicked onto the panel. It added some cool speckles!!! The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Oynx Black and embossed with clear embossing powder.

Season of Blessings

Hello! Today I have a card to share that I made for the sketch challenge over on SCS this week. LOVED this sketch and thought immediately of the new SNSS set Leaf Silhouettes. The leaves were stamped with Memento Morocco, Cantaloupe and Bamboo Leaves and obviously wanted it to coordinate with some fun Bo Bunny patterned paper.
It has been HUMID the past two days and looking forward to some cooler weather that fall brings!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

SNSS August Release Blog Hop

Welcome to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps August release blog hop!  All of the August releases are available right here. Hope you can join us over on in the SNSS forum on SCS for the party as well as a fabulous set of challenges throughout the day!
The first card I have to share with you today is Leaf Silhouettes

I stamped the leaves using Morocco, Olive Grove, and Peanut Brittle Memento ink.  Then I spritzed it with some Rich Cocoa Fireworks spray.  The sentiment was stamped and die cut with a Spellbinders die and attached with some baker's twine.

And here is one using Tree Background:

I stamped the tree image with Versafine Vintage Sepia and embossed with clear embossing powder. I created the moon by masking (using a sticky note that I punched with a circle punch and used as a mask with Versamark and clear embossing powder).   Then I sponged liberally with distress inks and stamped the sentiment from Leaf Silhouettes.

Hope you can join us for our Virtual Stamp Day over on SCS.  There will be 3 winners from the challenges who will each win a $20 credit to the store.

Also, be sure to hop along today as one random commenter on a random DT member's blog will win two sets of their choice from the release

Crayon Resist

Hello!  Getting back in the swing of things after a little getaway with the family and have a card to share that I made using Floral Thread background, Butterfly Kiss, and Gratitude.  I stamped the image with Versafine Black Onyx and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I die cut the image using Labels Fourteen and colored over the flower petals with a white crayon.  After the were covered with crayon, I generously sponged the die cut (in the die) with Squeezed Lemonade distress ink.  It really makes the flower POP!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Merry Christmas

A quick card to share today using Vintage Ornaments and Christmas Sentiments from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  They are pre-releasing these sets early for a limited time so if you miss out this time, know that they will be available again in the fall. I used Memento ink (Love Letter, Peanut Brittle and Bamboo Leaves) to stamp the ornaments and then sponged with Desert Sand to age it just a bit.  The patterned paper is a Christmas collection from Bo Bunny.

Celebrate

Today I have a CAS card to share using the beautiful background, Floral Thread, illustrated by my friend Laura Kirstie Campbell.  I inked it up with various Memento ink pads: LuLu Lavender, Angel Pink, Cantaloupe, Summer Sky, New Sprout and stamped it onto white cardstock.   Then I stamped the sentiment (from Gratitude) with Versafine Black Oynx and embossed with clear embossing powder.  The panel was layered onto some Black Oynx cardstock and adhered to a white card base.  The butterfly (from Social Butterfly) was stamped/embossed and gently sponged using Ink Blushers.  I adhered it by the sentiment with a pop dot.
I am entering this into the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger Allegro con Brio and was inspired by the pastel colors:

Time to be Creative

Today I have something very different from a normal card to share.  I was recently at AC Moore and saw these amazing plain wood clocks and immediately thought about something I had seen Jill Foster share using wooden birds (HERE) and thought I would give it a try.

The flowers on this frame are from Petal Party and embossed using Versafine Black Oynx ink and Clear Embossing powder.  Then, I colored the flowers with a yellow and orange Big Brush Marker from Design Memory Craft     ** they blend very easily layering one color on top of the other
Here is a photo of that process:

To fill in the gaps between the flowers, I used a yellow gelato and rubbed it in liberally with my fingers.  I added the butterflies from Social Butterfly (which I again embossed with Versafine Black Oynx ink and clear embossing powder).  I colored them with two shades of blue Big Brush Markers and using permanent glue dots attached them to the frame.  I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with the center of each flower and debated between liquid pearls and Want2Scrap bling....the latter won as I considered those holes a bit big for liquid pearls, lol!
I am amazed with how easy, fast and FUN this was to create
and hope I have inspired you to give your stamps a whirl on wood!  I had NO idea how easy it was/is!!!

Now I need to make a trip to Hobby Lobby!!  There is a LOT of shaped wood pieces there... :)

I am entering this into the Penny Black Art Extravaganza and if you have any Penny Black stamps hope you will play along!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Thank You

Hello and hard to believe it is July!  It is hot here in NC and looking to get over to the lake for a bit this afternoon to cool off!
Today I have a card to share that I made with some Penny  Black stamps, Tsukineko ink and Spectrum Noir markers.

I have some Copics, but honestly the price at times just rubs me the wrong way so I thought I would try Spectrum Noir, especially since they were $7.99 a pack (6 per pack) last week at AC Moore.  LOVE the pinks and obviously pink is a favorite color.  First, I stamped the Scented Message image using Versafine Oynx Black and embossed it with clear embossing powder. That step gives details images a clearly defined and slightly raised lines to contain the coloring a bit.  Then I used Spectrum Noir BP2 and BP6 to color in the flowers, the leaves were colored using Copics (as at the time I didn't have greens in SN, I have since remedied that, lol).  After the image was colored, I die-cut it using Labels Twenty and while still in the die, gently sponged with Desert Sand.  The sentiment is from So Blessed.  The Flower Flourish background was stamped using Rose Bud on Passionate Pink card stock.  I added a bit of corrugated cardboard and did some faux stitching along the top.

Here is a close-up (LOVE how the flowers just pop):

I used Viva Decor pearl pens to add a liquid pearl onto the center of each flower.

Smile

I have a special card to share today that was made with new Penny Black stamps that are illustrated by my friend Laura Campbell.  I have missed Layers of Color and thrilled that Laura is now designing for Penny Black!!!
This card uses A Flight of Thread #40-139 and the background Flower Flourish #40-136.  The sentiment is from Petal Party.  I stamped the image using Versafine Black and embossed with clear embossing powder.  The image was colored using Distress markers and sponged the image right after I die cut it using the Labels Twenty and Tumbled Glass ink.  For a little extra detail, I stamped the wing of the bird a second time and popped it up on a glue dot to add a bit of dimension and added some Want2Scrap bling to the flowers.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Happy Birthday

Today is my oldest son's 13th birthday...amazing how the years have flown!  I made this card for him yesterday using some Gina K Designs stamps, including the new Birthday Greetings clear stamp set. Have you tried GKD clear stamps yet???  I used to be a red rubber stamp kinda girl, but this past year have loved the convenience/quality of clear stamps and most impressed with the ones GKD is now offering!  I stamped the star (from Stars) using Memento Nautical Blue ink onto Kraft cardstock and combined it with the dots from Vintage Backgrounds.  I used the Notebook Edge and By the Numbers die-namics from My Favorite Things.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Hello, Dear Friend

Today I have a card to share using Flower Garden, illustrated by my dear friend Nina for The Craft's Meow.  I combined it with some Simple Stories Fabulous patterned paper and Memento inks.  The flowers were stamped on a die cut piece of ivory cardstock, heavily sponged and then I stamped the flowers a second time on a piece of scrap paper to create a 3-d look.  I used two new Memento colors: Pistachio and Morocco, as well as Rose Bud.

Speaking of Nina...  She is showcasing some of her newest Spellbinders Licensed dies on her blog, swoon...love them!  Also, be sure to hop each day with the Spellbinders team to have a chance at winning some of these new dies.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

So Blessed

I have a new favorite background stamp....Wall Paper Print #40-134 from Penny Black (illustrated by my dear friend Laura Kirste Campbell).  It has so many possibilities and it pops in red (used the new Memento ink: Love Letter)!  My mind is whirling with some other ideas...just need some time.  I added a bit of bling and layered a sentiment (from So Blessed, illustrated by sweet Nina Brackett) onto some Spellbinders dies.

We are in the middle of the tournament for oldest son's baseball season.  Jeb finished his T-ball season Tuesday night and it was so sweet....I know some groan at T-ball, but I find it about the cutest thing ever!  Here he is with his "tro-FEE" and some of his teammates (he is center with his hand behind his back):

CFC56

I made this card for the CAS-ual Friday Challenge which was to create a clean and simple project using polka dots.  I used the new stamp set Petal Party (from Penny Black) and stamped the floral image on some polka dot patterned paper from the Fabulous Simple Stories collection.  I added a scalloped epoxy center from Epiphany Crafts to the center of the flower.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Life is Beautiful

When I received the email from Penny Black about the new summer release......I caved.   I ordered on Tuesday (6/5) and received them yesterday (6/7)...talk about a happy mail day!
While my stamp room could use a little attention (ahem...putting things away) I just had to work in a little bit of creative time too.  New stamps deserve that don't you think :)

This card features the new set Petal Party #30-113 as well as Puzzle Parts  #30-114 (both illustrated by my good friend Nina..LOVE her style!).  I stamped the flower using Memento Black Tuxedo and colored the flower in using Copics.  The side panel using Puzzle Parts was stamped with Memento Bahama Blue and layered onto a Turquoise Sea cardstock panel.  I have some other Penny Black stamps I am so looking forward to getting inky with over the weekend....so many stamps, so little time :)

The colors for this card are inspired by the Play Date Cafe Challenge this week:

Posies

I wanted to try embossing the Posies stamp using Versamark and clear embossing powder and thought I had to try it in pink first :)  I love the pop of the flowers after a bit of sponging using Memento Angel Pink and Rose Bud (the latter especially highlighting the flowers) for this fun pink design.  I added the musical score from Vintage Borders stamped with Rose Bud and love the pop it brings.  The sentiment is from Gratitude  and added some pearl Want2Scrap bling to the center of each flower to finish it off.  All in all... quite quick and easy and thinking an assortment of designs with varying colors/sentiments would be nice to create!
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!
