Peachy Keen Giveaway!

Hey everyone --- sorry I'm getting to this on TUESDAY. Oh my goodness, where has the time gone? My little guy turns 3 and it seems like a birthday party, planting a garden (tomatoes, carrots, zucchini, watermelon, onions, corn, peas and green beans) has consumed my life the past four days!

Alright -- do we need a drumroll for the winner?
First off, random.org chose Day #2 to pick from the list of comments...

From Day #2 it chose comment #25:

Hello, Cupcake - Blog Hop!

Photobucket

Hey friends! Are you inspired by some tasty treats today?!! If you have arrived from Krista's page over at http://www.KristasPaperCafe.com/ you are in the right place. If you're jumping in the middle -- feel free to pop back up to the top of the hop and start at http://www.pausedreamenjoy.blogspot.com/, our lovely hostess Janis has some fabulous prizes in store for those who are hopping.
Photobucket

Speaking of prizes... some of you may know, some of you may not... Papercrafting is not the only crafty thing that I do. I also make bows and other hair goodies! (Hair pretties are NOT just for little girls... hehe.) Anyway - here's the prize that I have up for grabs for doing all of the requirements Janis has for you on the starting blog post. :)
Photobucket

Okay - prizes aside, for now ;) (pssssst, there's candy at the end of this post!)...

Here's what I did! Believe it or not... its NOT a paper craft this time! I've been meaning to purchase a fun cupcake pin cushion for a long time now... I drool over them on etsy and then I always close the window before checking out. WELLLLLLLL... I took my lovely little tomato pin cushion (which really - it has been a very trusty thing I've had for over 10 years now) and I made it fancy and cute now. :)

I made a 'base' out of some felt scraps and I decorated the top with some chiffon ribbon from Maya Road to create the 'frosting'. :)

Hope you like it!!! I'm excited to have this cute little pin cushion sitting on my craft table from now on! :)

And a quick card I made with a Close To My Heart stamp set... perfect for this blog hop! I used some of the smaller chiffon rose ribbon trims from Maya Road for the top of the cupcake on this card. :) A Maya Road heart pin adorns the top of the cupcake as the 'cherry on top'.

For those ladies who were "oooohing" and "aaaahhhing" over a stamp I used for a Valentine's day blog hop a few weekends ago, I found another one of those Unity itty bitty stamps (Rain or Shine)! I thought I'd give it out as blog candy since so many liked the stamps. Its one of my all times faves now... oh and some yummy chiffon ribbon (same style - different company) that I used for the 'icing' on my cupcake pin cushion!

Susan - I just sent you an e-mail! :) Everyone else, make sure you check out her inspirational projects on her blog, awesome stuff!

Onto the candle info and randomness....
The candles in my previous post were actually done with the method of stamping on tissue paper, wrapping the candle in wax paper (hold it REALLY tight) and then using your heat tool to melt the wax enough to let the tissue paper sort of soak in. You can find many methods on youtube that show this, next time I make one maybe I'll snap some pictures and write out the instructions... or *gasp* maybe I'll even try my hand at a tutorial. Anyway, they are super easy but I highly recommend using wax paper to wrap around the candle, this prevents dripping and pooling of wax. You have to move quickly and it may take you a few tries to get it perfectly, but the results are stunning! :)

Other randomness... I had a few people ask now what that "thing" is that I used to hold up some cards I've posted recently
Photobucket
I didn't know what they were until just recently either - so no worries! They are called floral frogs or flower frogs, usually used with fresh cut flowers to hold things upright and then they are stuck in a dish of water. This one is technically 'vintage' but who knows how vintage it is because its been in a lot of water and rusted... but in all reality it could be five years old and rusted out too. :) I got mine on etsy for around $5 and its been a blessing with the cards that just don't want to stay up when taking snap shots.

Feel free to ask me any questions, if you have e-mail addresses listed, I may reply to it that way, but you can leave me a comment or e-mail me at: scrappyskittles at gmail dot com anytime! :)

Blog Candy Winners

Hey Everyone! Just a quick post... I just wanted to say THANK YOU for all of your lovely comments over the past few weeks. :) I'm going to go back through and read everything, I'm playing catch up right now. The last time I was able to post on here was for the Valentine's blog hop and as I was writing up that post I started get a fever and crazy chills, so I've been out of the papercrafting game for a little while here! That weekend was absolutely miserable... and both kids had strep. Oh what fun! I hope all of you are staying healthy. :)

Without further ado... here are the winners of the blog candy.

Using random.org I chose the following numbers -- Remember, the 1st number picked will have their choice of the three prizes, 2nd number will pick from the remaining two, and the third will receive the last prize left. I will be contacting all three to find out which prize packages they would like and I will update here with which ones they picked. :)

Blog Candy! And a fun layout...

First up, here's some fun blog candy!!
To enter for a chance to win the blog candy, please leave a comment on this post and follow me! (Also, pretty please make sure I have a way to reach you if you are not a registered user with blogger! I want to make sure I can send the goodies to whoever wins!)

I will use random.org to pick a totally random winner on Sunday night... random is fun!

Now onto the goodies... I thought it would be rather appropriate to some "Dear Lizzy" goodies. :) There are 7 double sided papers and 1 adhesive backed fabric paper, for embellishments there are brown glittered thickers (alpha stickers!), fabric brads, crocheted flowers, Remarks phrase stickers, and some layered felt embellishments all from the Dear Lizzy line. I love the patterns and colors! I also threw in some of the new American Crafts premium ribbon and some white ball trim (you may notice I use this stuff a lot! LOVE ball trim!). (Sorry for the dim pictures, I forgot to take them when it was still light out!)

Up next, my friend Mandy was the guest designer over on Everyday Cricut this week - go check out her fabulous projects there and her blog - The Polka Dot Spot, too! :) She's sharing some blog love with me, so I want to give back to her! Thanks Mandy! Oh - and she has some blog candy you could win... make sure you check it out.

And the layout I wanted to share today... this is from my daughter's 5th birthday. The only thing she kept telling me she wanted for her birthday was a ballet ornament. So here she is opening her birthday present(she was born on Thanksgiving day and this year her birthday falls on Thanksgiving again!).... a ballet shoe Christmas ornament! It was super sparkly and hangs in her bedroom year round. :)
