Peachy Keen Giveaway!

Hey everyone --- sorry I'm getting to this on TUESDAY. Oh my goodness, where has the time gone? My little guy turns 3 and it seems like a birthday party, planting a garden (tomatoes, carrots, zucchini, watermelon, onions, corn, peas and green beans) has consumed my life the past four days!

Alright -- do we need a drumroll for the winner?
First off, random.org chose Day #2 to pick from the list of comments...

From Day #2 it chose comment #25:

Peachy Keen Guest Designer Week 22, Day 4

Day 4 from Peachy Keen Blog ---------

Whew! What a week so far! I'm pretty excited to show you the project I made for today! As you might remember in my blog post from yesterday it is recital week for my daughter's dance studio. This year the dance studio is celebrating 50 years, which is a huge accomplishment! I was trying to think of something I could make or give the dance studio owner/director (I took lessons there when I was a kid too!)... and I decided on a shadow box to commemorate the occasion!
My husband attended the recital Wednesday evening and I instructed him to bring me a program - do not bend it, fold it, wrinkle it, tuck it under your arm... you get the idea. :) And from there I just sort of ran with her theme "Golden Memories".

I have to say, I know I've used my PK-640 Princess Face Assortment a lot this week but now you can see how wonderful they really are! Everyone neeeeeeeeds a set of Princess faces! The cuts for this Ballerina again are from "Twinkle Toes".

With all of the stage makeup and such these girls have to wear I thought this face from the Princess faces fit perfectly - love those eyelashes!

(Glad you can't see too much of a glare on the glass because you would see my messy craft room then! Ha!)

And here is a quick shot outside of the glass -- making it a bit easier to see!

This was a challenge for me to pull it all together because the color gold and I don't get along very well most of the time. We'll see what Miss Marcia thinks of her gift tonight at the special reception celebrating her 50th year! I'm so excited to give it to her!

Don't forget about the chance to win some lovely stamps from the new Anyday line!

To be entered into the drawing please leave a note on this blog post and also on my blog. You will have five days to leave a note, so that is five chances to win! :) I will use random.org to pick which day and post for the winner. I will draw and announce the winner on my blog on Saturday June 11th.

Have a fantastic Thursday!

PKS Guest Designer Day 3

While you're here, feel free to become a follower of my blog! :) I ♥ followers and from time to time I do some blog candy and such. If you don't like being a follower, I'm okay with that too. I'm just glad you're here! ♥

--- Another Peachy Keen Post! ----

Day Three -- woohoo! I have a bigger project I'm working on with some yummy PKS face stamps(which I will hopefully be able to post before the end of the week - if not, watch for it on my blog), but today I needed to make a card for my daughter. I don't make cards for my children very often, but I know she will love this one. Tomorrow is her dance recital and she has worked very hard for this day! We switched dance studios this year and we couldn't be more pleased with the strides she has taken in becoming the beautiful ballerina (and tap dancer) she is today! Okay, okay - I'll stop gushing over my children. :) I'm a proud mama, what can I say?

This sweet little ballerina is from the "Twinkle Toes" cartridge and the face is from the PK-640 Princess Face Assortment. (I promise I do have more face stamps than this... you can definitely tell the Princess faces are some of my favorites! I reach for them a lot!)

The sentiment on this card was handwritten by me. I'm like most people, I don't really care for my handwriting, but sometimes you have to write exactly what you feel. I don't have a sentiment stamp that worked for this occasion, so handwritten it is! (The roses and leaves are made by me, as well.)

Supplies used:
PK-640 Princess Face Assortment
Dancing Girl (all patterned papers) by Fancy Pants
Ribbon by Offray
Bling and Pearls by KaiserCraft
Crocheted Ribbon by Hero Arts
Cardstock by Bazzill
Ink by Memento
Stickles/glitter by Ranger

Thanks for checking out my creation today -- don't forget about the chance to win!

To be entered into the drawing please leave a note on this blog post and also on my blog. You will have five days to leave a note, so that is five chances to win! :) I will use random.org to pick which day and post for the winner. I will draw and announce the winner on my blog on Saturday June 11th.

Have a great Wednesday!

Peachy Keen Guest Designer Week 22, Day 2!

---Day 2 Post from Peachy Keen Blog -- :)

Hello again! First things first... Remember yesterday how I mentioned the beautiful weather in Wisconsin? Let me take that back! We have heat advisories out for the next two days and then back into the 50/60's on Thursday. Apparently I spoke too soon. :) Okay, enough about the crazy weather...

Today I decided that I need to take a few minutes and make a baby card for one of my BFF's who just had a sweet little baby girl. This was a bit of a challenge because my friend does not love pastels and even more specifically, pastel pink. I kept it to a minimum by using brightly colored patterned paper with a very little sprinkle of pinks. :) What do you think?
Photobucket
Oh and the super sweet PK-222 Happy-Go-Lucky Elephant... one of my faves!
Photobucket
That bow on the card isn't just an ordinary bow. It is fully equipped with an alligator clip on the back and ready to be tucked into some of that new-baby-smelling hair. I make hairbows... it's kind of my 'thing'. So I have been adding a small one to baby girl cards that I have made lately. Every little girl needs a pretty hair bow! :) Even if you can't make your own hair bows, this would be a super easy gift to whip up for a new baby girl! Buy a few bows to add to the card and VOILA! But if you don't want to add bows... it's still a fun card with a super cute elephant!
Photobucket

Supplies I used:
PK-222 Happy-Go-Lucky Elephant
Little Girl (all patterned paper and cardstock sticker 'cutie pie') by Echo Park Paper
Kraft cardstock by Bazzill
Button by BasicGrey
Ribbon by Offray
gellyroll white pen
COPIC markers
Tuxedo Black Memento ink
Lilac Twine from the Twinery

That's all I have for today... but don't forget about that sweet candy!

To be entered into the drawing please leave a note on this blog post and also on my blog. You will have five days to leave a note, so that is five chances to win! :) I will use random.org to pick which day and post for the winner. I will draw and announce the winner on my blog on Saturday June 11th.

Have a great Tuesday! Thanks for checking out my project today!

YAY! Peachy Keen Guest Designer Week!

Hey friends! Long time no see! :) This week I am the Guest Designer over at Peachy Keen Stamps --- you can check it out over there or continue on to read down below... there is some fun blog candy to win! And you'll hear a little about why I've been away from my papercrafting goodies for a while..
----

Hi there Peachy Keen friends! My name is Liz and I'm so excited to share in the fun with all of you this week! Thank you for this great opportunity! Lately, life has become a little crazy so my blog: -skittles-and-scrapbooks- hasn't been updated as much as I'd like. My "small business" has been growing in strides and the wee hours of the night tend to be crafting of a different sort lately. I'm SO EXCITED to play with paper this week, you have no idea!

How cute are all of the new releases???

Okay - enough of the rambling and let me show you my creation for today! My inspiration came from the beautiful weather we've been having in Wisconsin the past few days. It certainly feels like summer is here! (Did I mention I live a mere 25 minutes from Peachy Keen's front door?) We've been waiting for it for a while, so bring on the sun!
Photobucket
I simply LOVE the PK-239 Faceless Fruit stamps. I'm pretty sure it was one of the first PKS stamp sets I purchased! My second set of face stamps (and my ALL-TIME fave!) I bought can be found on that sweet strawberry face -- PK-640 Princess Face Assortment
Here's a little closer shot of the Peachy goodness:

You could win this stinkin' cute set from the PKS new Anyday line that was released just last week!

I love this skunk!

To be entered into the drawing please leave a note on the Peachy Keen blog post and also on my blog. You will have five days to leave a note, so that is five chances to win! :) I will use random.org to pick which day and post for the winner. Shelter animals have a place near and dear to my heart. My lovely pal, Spock, came to us from a local no-kill shelter: Saving Paws. He is the most lovable cat, great with children, and many of our friends and family have tried to steal him and/or clone him at times. We could not have been more blessed with such a wonderful furry friend. The amazing part is 1.) I convinced my husband to get a cat and 2.) I'm actually more of a "dog person". But I seriously love this cat. He's great, our "Spock-kitty", as my children lovingly refer to him.
Photobucket

Using orange to represent the ASPCA colors and awareness this month was a bit of a challenge for me! I definitely do NOT gravitate towards that color. Thanks for this challenge, Abby!

I chose the Max & Whiskers line by Basic Grey and the "Life is not Perfect" stamp set by Hero Arts as my jumping off points and just ran with it. I hope you enjoy my creations!

Hello, Cupcake - Blog Hop!

Photobucket

Hey friends! Are you inspired by some tasty treats today?!! If you have arrived from Krista's page over at http://www.KristasPaperCafe.com/ you are in the right place. If you're jumping in the middle -- feel free to pop back up to the top of the hop and start at http://www.pausedreamenjoy.blogspot.com/, our lovely hostess Janis has some fabulous prizes in store for those who are hopping.
Photobucket

Speaking of prizes... some of you may know, some of you may not... Papercrafting is not the only crafty thing that I do. I also make bows and other hair goodies! (Hair pretties are NOT just for little girls... hehe.) Anyway - here's the prize that I have up for grabs for doing all of the requirements Janis has for you on the starting blog post. :)
Photobucket

Okay - prizes aside, for now ;) (pssssst, there's candy at the end of this post!)...

Here's what I did! Believe it or not... its NOT a paper craft this time! I've been meaning to purchase a fun cupcake pin cushion for a long time now... I drool over them on etsy and then I always close the window before checking out. WELLLLLLLL... I took my lovely little tomato pin cushion (which really - it has been a very trusty thing I've had for over 10 years now) and I made it fancy and cute now. :)

I made a 'base' out of some felt scraps and I decorated the top with some chiffon ribbon from Maya Road to create the 'frosting'. :)
Photobucket

Photobucket

Hope you like it!!! I'm excited to have this cute little pin cushion sitting on my craft table from now on! :)

And a quick card I made with a Close To My Heart stamp set... perfect for this blog hop! I used some of the smaller chiffon rose ribbon trims from Maya Road for the top of the cupcake on this card. :) A Maya Road heart pin adorns the top of the cupcake as the 'cherry on top'.

I thought I'd give it out as blog candy since so many liked the stamps. Its one of my all times faves now... oh and some yummy chiffon ribbon (same style - different company) that I used for the 'icing' on my cupcake pin cushion!
