Enjoy the little things

- Last night at the climbing gym I climbed a boulder problem that I didn't ever think I would be able to climb... LOVED it.

-Dave and I are starting a new exercise regimen and I am super excited about it.
We even ran together this week... we have never done that, weird I know.

-My parents and I laid out by the pool in the 80 degree weather and I got my first swim suit line of the year... I could really get used to Florida's winter.

-I found an adorable used desk and comfy office chair on craiglist for $65 for both ... now that I work from home, I really needed these!

-I decorated our little apartment with a little bit of crafty Valentine's Day decor.

-We are the cub scout leaders for the scouts in our area and I haven't be able to go because of work but I got to go this week and it was so fun to watch Dave with those boys, they adore him!

-My sister sent me audio of her sweet baby boy laughing... only my favorite sound in the world!

-I got the best phone call last night from my best friend, I love it when her name appears on my phone :)

-Tomorrow is Saturday and Dave doesn't have homework!
Best news ever!

Happy LOVE month!

A fabulous day of Thanks.

Our Thanksgiving break was like a dream.
Yes, I would have given anything to be home with my family
but I think we did a pretty good job here in Florida.

We started out with a lovely one-night stay in Jacksonville Beach, just two hours away.
Yes, we wore our swimsuits in the car.. it was supposed to be 70's!
It was in the 70's but the wind was crazy...

So we did what anyone would do...
we hunted for sea shells!
There were so many shells everywhere, I felt like a little kid on a treasure hunt.

So many beautiful colors too.
We collected a bunch to put in a vase in our home, be excited!

We rushed home Thursday morning to start making our share of the food.
I made the most delicious rolls (thanks to my sister's mother-in-law's recipe)
and a pumpkin pie- don't know why I didn't take a photo.

This fabulous group of people was our Thanksgiving family.
We are so blessed to have such wonderful people close by.
(I know the picture quality is no bueno.. gotta love self timers!)

That night we totally went shopping.. don't judge.
I LOVE black Friday, I don't know why- I just get so excited about it every year!
We went to Walmart and Target.
We ended up with 18 DVD's and the game Catch phrase.
Best deal: We got all 8 Harry Potter's on DVD for $16!!
I was so proud of our mad shopping skills.

Friday we decided we needed to exercise off some of the many calories we had for the holiday.
So naturally we went on a 30 mile bike ride..
the things I do for my husband.

I hope your thanksgiving break was fabulous
and have you entered my twenty-five winner giveaway yet??

I want to climb a mountain.

Dave is big into rock climbing.
For out first date, we went rock climbing.
When he proposed, we were rock climbing.
We rock climb on every one of his birthdays.
And.
You better believe we took a month off of work before moving to Florida
to rock climb 5-6 days a week.

Florida has NO mountains.
I miss my mountains like crazy.
I used to complain all the time about how much we went climbing.
It literally was 4-5 times a week
a minimum of three hours each time
(saturdays it would be around 6-8 hours)
NOW
I complain about how much I miss it.
The gym just isn't the same as real rock.
Climbing has become one of my passions.
It really is a therapeutic experience for me.
My husband is AMAZING at it.
And we really enjoy having something we like to do together.

Anywho, I thought I would share some of my favorite climbing pictures with you
in honor of my strong desire to be in those mountains right now!

today's exercise.

Do you ever have those nights
where you go to bed thinking...
i am going to do a way intense workout in the morning.
And then you wake up and say
ya right!
Well.
that happened to me today.
(like most days)
I am sure many of you are familiar
with Jillian Michaels
'thirty day shred'
Lately,
I have been doing that workout
on the days I don't climb or go for a bike ride.
However,
I am sick of Jillian.
She gets old and just wasn't motivating me this morning.
So I hopped on to my Pinterest exercise board.
And found this lovely pin...
(I normally would never post a picture of a woman like this,
I don't believe in 'the perfect size woman' but the routine is
on the photo. credit to: http://talesofadomesticmama.blogspot.com)

Anyways.
it takes about 15-20 minutes.
and it was a great little workout.
i highly recommend it.

I dare you to give it a go.
let me know what you think :)

Bear Lake with the Gringeris

Can you believe it is 90+ degrees out there?
I officially declare it to be SUMMER!
wooohoooo!

This past weekend we headed up to the condo in BearLake
my favorite place in the world.
It was mid 80's and sunshine the whole time.
We loved it.

We stopped in Echo Canyon, to climb of course,
on our way...
Ben & Elisabeth joined us for the weekend :)

Waiting for the boys to finish...

 Dave on 'Wicked Bender' 13b.
He is kind of good.

Saturday we spent the day at the lake.
 We rented a kayak!
I want to buy one when we move to Florida, they are so fun!

Don't be fooled, the water was freezing!

We went out for delicious pizza

And we couldn't leave without taking home a thing of fudge and
chocolate covered raspberries.
(to die for!)

Yes. We got shakes at the famous La Beau's.
Raspberry Heath is my fave.
(Also, to die for!)

 Check out Dave's gnarly sunburn...
it gets way worse around his armpits and neck.
Basically I am not letting him sunscreen himself anymore...

 Gorgeous sunset on the lake.

 Gotta love self timers.

we can't ever take a serious picture without a silly one too.

We had a fabulous time at the lake.
I can't wait to spend more Summer days there this year.
