Yum!

It's odd how different stimuli spark ideas. When I saw that the challenge at Just us Girls was these colours, I immediately thought of these stamps from Unity.
It also fits with the cue word from CASology
...plus the Picture Inspiration from Addicted to Stamps .
A hint of colour from the flowers, the colours of the clocks on the wall and the criss cross design on the table top!
I'm not sure of the make of the embossing folder, but it's quite a large one  about 5"x7".
The image was coloured with a variety of alcohol pens, and cut out before mounting on a rectangle cut with a SSS stitched rectangle. The sentiment panel was cut with a Lil Inkers die.

Daring Cardmakers

It's funny how the title of a challenge can set you thinking... at Daring Cardmakers this week, the subject is entitled 'Material girl'. I immediately thought of this pocket stamp and the denim free download paper from the Canon Scrapbook site.
So the stamp was stamped onto the denim paper. I made the 501 tag on the computer, the hearts were any small stamps I could find in my stash and here it is! The main image stamp and the sentiment are from Unity.
I'm trying to keep away from adding too much to my cards, I'm not sure if this enough, but I didn't care for the other odds and ends I tried.

My new background stamp

My parcel of Stampin' Up goodies arrived today and I couldn't resist having a play. This card, just kind of happened and I have to admit it's my kind of thing!
My new stamp here is the friends background stamp.
I'd stamped the flower image from Unity Stamps some time ago and so used the same colour for the background ... Mellow Moss from Stampin' Up.
I bought about 20yds of cheap white grosgrain ribbon on eBay and have been using it, coloured with Copics, to match my cards. I think it's really quite successful. I used the same Copic pen BG93 to colour the edges of the mounting layers and the Cuttlebug corners.
It's for these challenges.
Alphabet Challenge N - Nature, a flower and the colour green.
Penny's Challenges - Anything Goes
My Grafico - Vintage
My package today also contained some more surprise stamps... my birthday present from Victoria, wonderful, thank you Victoria.

When you wish upon a star!

It took me quite a while to come up with an idea for the challenge of 'Stars and Swirls' at My Time to Craft this week. I decided to look through my collection of digi stamps to see if inspiration struck and this one of Bronson and Beaker from Pollycraft seemed to ring my bell!
The sentiment, which is from Unity stamps, seemed perfect for it. It also made me think of the Disney song 'When you wish upon a star' and so for this reason I thought it would be just right for challenge #88, 'Song Title', from Everybody Art.
A spoonful of Sugar would like to see 'Furry Friends', Bronson is quite furry isn't he!
The paper is Cuddly Buddly and the embossing is Divine Swirls from Cuttlebug.
Having a Bank Holiday this week has put me out of step slightly, it felt like Sunday yesterday.

Another Slider Card

Yesterday I was watching a video about making Slider cards and today I watched another and this is the result.
I used the sketch from CPS #155 which I rotated through 90 degrees.
It's just plain pearly paper which in places I reinforced with plain card. The background is embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and the smaller rectangle is printed with a French Script background stamp from Stampin' Up. So this is also for the embossing challenge from Sophisticats.
I searched all over the place for the pearlised paper and eventually resorted to lying on the floor with a torch looking under the bed, which is where I found the box of paper... Hurrah! There was so little space under there that I had to get a ruler to fish it out!
The image is from Unity Stamps, which I printed once in Stazon and then a second time, without re-inking, to get the shadow effect.

The clever part of this, is the way in which it looks as though the ribbon goes right across the card, which would probably make the slide impossible, but it's a cute method and you can see the video I watched here.
The birds' section is mounted on dimensional pads to give a little space for the ribbon behind it and as such qualifies for the challenge at Crafty Creations where the theme is 'Cut it out and pop it up!'
The sentiment on the slide is from Stampin' Up.
The bit I got wrong again today, was in not shortening the card slightly to allow for the knot in the ribbon at the side. I shall probably have to make a special envelope now to compensate!
You know how sometimes you're just pleased with a card you've made... well this is one of them!
I hope you like it too!
