Merry Christmas

The challenge at Christmas Craft Creations this time is to make anything but a card!
My first thought was to make something that I knew I would have a use for... a bottle tag!
I cut the tag (I think it was from MFT, but I have had it for a long time and may well now be discontinued) and stamped with a Memory Box Mistletoe stamp and heat embossed in gold. I used Distress Oxide inks as paints to colour the leaves and berries. I stamped a little Pumice Stone and Bundled Sage ink onto a glass mat (which I used as a palette) and using a water brush, layered the colour. When dry, I added some Nuvo Crystal Glaze to add dimension and shine.
The sentiment is from the same Memory Box stamp set.
By today, our new kitchen should have been almost complete, but because of lockdown its installation has been postponed until February! At least I'll still have a kitchen for Christmas!

HLS Christmas Tag

The March Challenge for the Christmas card section of Happy Little Stampers is as ever... anything goes but has the optional twist of adding a tag!

This tiny Santa is a first time out for me, from a set from Sizzix. The pieces are absolutely miniscule!!!!! As I had added some DST to the back of the card before cutting, I merely had to round up all the tiny pieces and stick them on! If it was not for a pokey tool, the task would have been impossible! However I think he looks quite fun.The tree is from a Simon Says stamp die and the textured strip from an Embossing folder by Sheena Douglass.
This morning I 'misplaced' a little deer die from Sizzix... I had cut out a few and when I wanted it again, it was conspicuous by its absence. It irritates me more than somewhat when I can't find things, but hopefully it will be hiding in plain sight somewhere! Let's hope it turns up... it was the best image from the set!
Last year making Christmas cards throughout the year proved to be a great success for me as I wasn't faced with the prospect of producing heaps of cards in a very short time. Let's hope it works as well again this year!

Take a tag

The challenge at AAA Cards is to create a card with a tag. I've had this sheep die set from Marianne Collectables for a while and thought I'd give it an outing! It simply uses bits of card from the scrap drawer.
The sentiment was computer generated using My Own Topher font on a black background with white lettering. The ribbon is a scrap cut from a sweater or blouse... I don't remember which, I know they help to keep the garments on the hangers in the store, but I can't cope with them once I have the item at home! Neat bit of recycling!

Take a Tag

I really must be getting old... the weeks are flying by and it's already time for another challenge from My Time to Craft. Here is my DT card and the theme is entitled Tag Along.
I made the tag, carefully shaping the top, which I then promptly covered with the bow... Hey Ho!
I haven't really done much collage stamping so I thought I would give it a try. I found it a little more difficult than the demonstrators in the videos I watched on You Tube made it appear, but after a couple of abortive attempts I came up with this. I understand now the purpose and order of using inks in gradually deepening tones, and have used a whole bunch of stamps to get the finished effect.
I started with a Stampabilities music manuscript stamp, then the side panel with the stars on, then the Hero Arts  flower, finally adding the Artemio Christmas foliage stamps and the Papermania sentiment in the deepest shade. After I'd done that lot I distressed the edges with Distress Ink.
The background paper is from Papermania and the leaves are from X Cut punches.
Job Done!
Do join us in this challenge and let's see your fab creations.
