And here is my take on the sketch.

TCM card

Supplies:
Cardstock: Vintage Cream from PTI

Inks: fire Brick, Worn Lipstick, Broken China, Peeled Paint, Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Milled Lavendar and Frayed Burlap distress inks, Archival Jet Black Ink and Black chalk ink from Colourbox
Accessories: Spellbinder's banner dies and sponging tool.

I love sponging distress inks and how they blend beautifully to give the colourful effect just like how it is in a carnival :) Cannot wait to see what is up next at TCM. Happy Birthday TCM!

Birthday card!

Ok, I inked a Paper Smooches stamp but not the one I mentioned in the last post. Hip to be square is such a beautiful BG stamp that it looks cool by itself. I am stuck as to where to put the sentiment on that beautiful background. Until I make up my mind about it, the stamped image will be sitting on my desk. So I opened another background set from Paper Smooches and ink it to make this card.

Birthday card

Supplies:
Cardstock: Gina K luxury white cardstock
Stamp sets: Geo Graphic from Paper Smooches, Camera from Inkadinkado and Pretty Peonies from PTI
Inks: Archival Black Ink from Rangers
Accessories: Markers and square punch

Instructions:
1. Make Card Base.
2. Stamp hexagonal bg stamp on a scrap piece of white cardstock with black ink
3. Colour random areas with orange, pink and yellow markers and cut out the image.
4. Stamp camera image on scrap white cardstock and cut out the image.
5. Colour the camera using markers
6. Adhere the hexagonal pattern on the white panel.
7. Foam mount the camera as shown in the picture
8. Stamp sentiment on a long piece of white cardstock and make a "V" cut
9. Adhere the sentiment on the panel below the hexagonal shape
10. Mount the panel on the card base using foam.

I have used CR84FN50 challenge colours to make this card.

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

Wish Big!

I always tell my daughter Aditi that she should aim for the sky. Doesn't matter if she lands up on a tree top :) As we live in outback Australia, things are generally laid back compared to the cities. We love it but not when it comes to education.
Schools here are generally happy with what ever the child does. No encouraging the child to do more or help with extension work appropriate to the child's potential. So my daughter just does the bare minimum and is happy. She has the potential and has got academic achievement award last year. She says that she has to blend in with the rest or else other kids doesn't play with her :( But my son Sid likes to stand out in class and puts in extra effort. He does not care if he is liked or not by other kids.
Now that we are moving to the city end of this year, suddenly it stuck Aditi that she needs to put in more effort. She wants to get into the same school as Sid (he is goiing to a gifted and talented school) Now she is putting in extra effort and liking her results.  She did it for last week's homework and was appreciated in class. So she is all thrilled :)  I am like "YES!"
Ok I got distracted! Which mother does not like talking about their kids right?
Anyway, I received my first Paper Smooches package and love all the new modern stamps :) I was drawn to the kite and clouds stamp because of the background conversations with my daughter about reaching for the sky :) lol! So I inked the set and made a card for Aditi hoping it will remind her to put in her best always :)

Inspired by Pinterest

Afternoon! I am happy to be back blogging today. Until last night I was unable to even sit up for more than 2 hours. The cough is persistant, vomiting, eyes burning, nose block and body aches. I cannot recall being this ill before :( I have given bloods, swabs, sputum and chest x-ray and waiting for the results. On antibiotics and steriods and hoping I will get better fully after this weekend.

I am planning to do a "Inspired by Pinterest" section every week. I will select a picture from my Inspirational Patterns board and use it as an inspirational to make a project. It can be anything from card, to set of card to frame or even invitation sets...What do you think? It will be fun and if you like to join and make a project using the picture then, I will post a linky. It depends on how many responses I get today, Ok!

For today's inspirational picture, I chose this one.

And my project is a frame.

IMGP2749

My Wplus9 order arrived couple of weeks ago and love their latest release dies that coordinate with their stamp set called Folk Arts Florals. When I saw this picture on Pinterest, these dies from Wplu9 came to my mind immediately and so I pinned the picture.

In a brief period of wellness yesterday, I diecut the birdhouses and then slowly worked towards making this frame. I love the colours - all neutral. Hope you like it.So if you find this picture inspirational and make a project, then leave a comment with a link to your project. Also let me know if you like to play with me ever Thursday :)

Supplies:
Cardstock: GinaK Pure Luxury White cardstock, Close to Cocoa, Sand Sahara from SU
Stamp sets: Woodgrain Silhouettes and Folk art Florals from Wplus9
