Lost and Found!!!

I thought I lost my mojo!!
Although I had all my purchases with me, I was not motivated to sit for a layout!!
Weird!!! Weird!!!
I just thought I will make a layout irrespective of how I feel.
Maybe just sit on the table and go through my old stash and make a layout.
No sketch, no challenges, nothing.. starting with a clean slate.
Thats why I picked up Fancy Pants The Daily Grind Chalkboard paper as the base.
Picked a photo randomly. This is the photo of my mom, dad and my brother.
I rounded the corners and then mounted it on a piece of blue card stock.
a yellow ribbon and wrapped it around on the bottom and tied the ribbon.
Then I picked up the Fancy Pants Holly Molly Snowflakes paper.
Lots of picking!!! Yup, just picked and picked randomly!!!lol!
Wanted to use the bright pink side.
Cut a medium rectangle piece and round the edges using the corner punch.
I placed this piece at the right hand centre of the base paper.
Mounted the blue cardstock with the photo on the rightside of the pink paper.
Again I had the leftover piece of black zigzag paper,
which I added at the bottom of the blue cardstock.
I then used a circle punch and punched two circles out of my bits and pieces of stash.
Placed them as shown in the layout, half tucked under the pink paper.
Took a rectanglar piece of yellow cardstock tucked under the pink paper in thet op rightside.
I then doodled using my pink gel pen. added a black flower punched out of the flower punch I received from Shell. Added a green pearl in the centre.
The journalling tag is made out of a piece of green paper cut to the size of 7 gypies overlay
and I used dymo to make the journalling words.
I loved the tiny pegs, I bought few months ago.
I used them to clip the paper and the overlay together.
Flowers are from Prima, Mulburry paper flower, Green Tara.
Brads and buttons from my stash.
Just to add texture I used White Slick Kindy Glitz to doodle around the pink paper
and also the large doodle on the top.
For the title, I have used Heidi Swapp "Family" stamp, to stamp on a yellow piece of paper,
cut it out and inked the edges.
I am pretty happy with the outcome.
A nice bright piece of color on the chalkboard.
Afterall, my mojo did not go anywhere.lol!!!

Deuce Truce.....

Well, Aditi and Siddarth have been arguing for a while
and I had to intervene as I started getting a headache..
I told them I will let them play Tennis on Wii if they stop arguing.
AGREED X2!!!!
And it worked. They both played beautifully well without anymore argument.
They were giggling over the number of deuces, who got an advantage and who nulled it again... Never knew duece will bring some truce.
Ta... Da..."light bulb glow"
I captured some of the deuce moments
and here is the layout I made using those photos
for
Nat's January 09 challenge in her forum.

The challenge rules are
PINK & GREEN - as the main color theme
INKS - distressing and or stamping, just have fun with some inks
and A QUIRKY TITLE - the title must be catchy, quirky or bizarre....

I have used a cordination black cardstock as the base.
The green paper is Basic Grey Urban Prairie Hayloft paper.
I have also used basic Grey Urban Prairie Monarch and Basic Grey Two Scoops, Strawberry Smoothie papers all inked on their edges using Versa mark Black Ink.
I have also used my latest purchase stitches stamps on the edges.
A bit here and there, but hey!! there is nothing right or wrong in scrapbooking...

I have used two pink Queen and co felt flowers, grungeboard hinge inked in Bella blue ink and pompom ribbons. I had this zigzag leftover piece from a black card stock which I have used on the bottom of the photos and used a Slick white Kindy Glitz to add texture and extra dimension. Couple of bees from Basic Grey Urban PrairieChipboard Shapes for added interest.

This is once again one of my bright and cheerful page after a few distressed muted tone pages.

Basic Grey Chipboard Challenge and Photo Swapp at TBSS

This week the challenge at Basic Grey Challenge Blog is to use chipboard.
Here is my take on the challenge. "Best Friends Card"
I have used Basic Grey Ambrosia Chipboard Shapes on the card.
The pattern paper is from Carolee's Creations.
Rub ons from Trimmings and Kaiser craft, flowers from scrapbook blossoms,
ribbon from my stash, base is black card stock.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TBSS had a photo swap. My swap was with Kath Parker.
Here is my take.
I really like the photo of her kids standing together and a wonderful background.
Siblings are lifetime buddies. Thats how the title came about.
I have used Bella scalloped card stock as the background paper,
with WRMK, Wipe Out and Cloud 9 pps for layers.
They are all distressed using Heidi Swapp Distressor but not inked.
I wanted the white to stand out against the purple background.
Flowers are from Green tara and Bella chipboard.
Journalling tag is also from Bella, diecuts and the doiley from stash
and alphas from Pink Paislee.

I am off to a seaside town for a few days to escape heat.
Will catch you all later next week.

Have a nice week

For a sketch and a rub on challenge..............

This is the Jan 09 sketch from roadmaps.
I have made a layout using this sketch but doubled it for a rub on challenge at SB dot com

Rub on challenge at SB dot com --- some or as many rub ons as you like in the layout.

So here is my take on both the challenges:

The base paper is Crate Paper. Love the notebook type paper.
The three layered papers are from Carolee's creations Family treasure collection,
Treasured doodles, Coming up daisies and Families are forever.
They are so adorable papers. I love the daisies and wanted it seen as a highlight in the layout.
So I have used red glitter pen and Kaiser craft red rhinestones to highlight it.
Flowers are from Bella, scrapbook blossoms, Prima bling centre piece and leaves.
Rub ons are fro Scrapbooking King. I used it on white card stock and cut it out
and distressed using Versa color camelia and gold ink.
Laces are from my stash.
Brown alphas is from Heidi Swap and red alphas from Bella.
