Birthday Banner

Hello and Merry Christmas to you all!  We had a very nice day.       My daughter also requested a birthday banner along with her Patriotic banner.

It is made just like the Patriotic banner. I used cute fabrics for it.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great evening!

Patriotic Banner

Hello everyone, I hope you have had a nice day. I did some much needed organizing in the kitchen.     I had a request from my youngest daughter for a patriotic banner.

I made it in the Fall and had my mantel decorated for Fall but had to hang the banner to get a photo.  I really like how it turned out. Simple but festive. I think the fabrics are so pretty and like the buttons. It is adjustable so she can spread them more apart if needed.

I hope you enjoyed seeing the banner.   Thank you for stopping by and have a great evening!

Snowman Mini Quilt

Good morning everyone!  I am here with another mini quilt. I made 6 of these. I have been having fun making mini quilts and other quilting projects. I love the mini quilts because you can make something beautiful and fast. Great decor items!

I love this snowman! I purchased the pattern from Etsy. There is a lot of hand stitching on this particular mini quilt. I love the fabrics and the sweet little buttons.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Ruby's Pencil Pouch

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a nice day! I have been sewing all day.  My little granddaughter Ruby is starting 2nd grade next week and I wanted to make something special for her.

I made this adorable pencil pouch!   It has a boxy bottom so it will stand up and has lots of room.

I did the patchwork, added the little girl patch and the 3 gingham squares with added buttons (the middle square has a heart button).

The top of the pouch has rick rack on the edge of the patchwork. There is a zipper closure with a sweet little strawberry charm.

The inside is lined with red and white gingham check and has a little tag that says created by Granny.

I LOVE how this little pencil pouch turned out!                  Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!

Good morning everyone! I hope you all are well!  It has been a while since I posted.   I had another major surgery four days after Thanksgiving. I had to have hernia surgery because of my weakened stomach from the cancer surgery. I put it off for a long time, but it got to the point it was necessary. It was supposed to be a simple surgery that would take 1 hour and then go home that day or the next. It turned into a 4-hour surgery (same as the cancer surgery) and 6 days in the hospital. My surgeon said I had 8 hernias and that it looked like Swiss cheese.  It was 6 weeks of recovery. I wasn't able to do anything!  No lifting, no housework, nothing remotely strenuous. I am so happy the surgery is over, but it was a very hard time.   I'm back to doing my normal activities now.
I spent a lot of time on Pinterest and YouTube and have learned a new craft to me. Foundation Paper Piecing quilting. I wanted to share a photo of my very first project.
The pattern is called Bonita Bunny and she is a free pattern. I just LOVE how she turned out!!! You can also make it a boy bunny by placing the bow at the bottom. I sent this one to my daughter in Florida and am in the process of making one for me but in different fabric colors. It is just a mini quilt to hang or sit up at Easter.
Thank you for stopping buy and have a wonderful day!

Cute Halloween Felt Ghost (and I made the pattern myself)

Look what I created today! An UNSTUFFED ghost! My daughter Amy asked me a few weeks ago if I could make a cute felt ghost that she saw in a home decorateing store. She took a photo of the one in the store and sent it to me. I put it off for weeks unshure how to go about making it. Well today I sat down at my crafting table grabbed a pencil and paper and drew out my own pattern! I had a witch hat pattern already so I just had to create the ghost and banner. I am so proud of myself for designing my own pattern and all the pieces fit together perfectly! Some felt, twine, ribbon, buttons, my sewing maschine, some glue and MY PATTERN and WA LA a cute ghostie! With the hat on it is about 18 inches high. Amy wanted me to leave it unstuffed to mail and when she receives it she will stuff it and hand sew a 3 inch opening. Please excuse my messy craft table, I've been creating!

Thank you for stopping by and have a great evening!

Easter Bunny Dress and Purse

Hello everyone, I hope you all are well!   I'm itching to get my garden going but it was in the 30's this morning!!! It as been in the 80's a few days! I tell ya, the whole world has gone crazy!
I made an Easter dress for my grand-daughter Ruby. Even though they wont be able to go to church because of social distancing, she can wear it Easter Sunday.
I love the pattern and fabric! I'm going to make one with short sleeves and a kitty cat face as well (Ruby loves kitty cats).
I'm sorry for the poor lighting, I did this best that I could. Isn't the little bunny cute! I hand stitched the whiskers, mouth and nose and sewed on button eyes.
Here is the bodice back with buttons.
Here's the cute little matching bunny purse.   She told me she was going to put her candies in it.
I love how it all turned out and can't wait to see photos of her in it.
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Gray and Yellow On the Inside Baby Card

Hello everyone, hope you are doing well on this HOT Sunday evening! I am post one of three cards I made today using, you guessed it a Bugaboo stamp.
I can't tell you how much I am loving the Bugaboo Stamps! I decided to do this one in gray, white and yellow.
I added a little dimensional pop up.

The buttons are on the original card and there are about ten of them, the original cost back in the day was a whopping .40 cents!                Thank you for stopping by and have a great evening!

Easter Bunny Baby Shoes and Box

Hello everyone! Well, once again Easter is almost here. We have been having beautiful weather. The daffodils, forsythia, and tulips are blooming, the trees are buding with pink and white blossoms with little hints of Spring green. The first day of Spring is tomorrow and we are yet again going to have cold weather. Oh well, it is not supposed to last, and before long it will be so hot we will wish we had a cold snap to cool off!
I have been very busy creating my Easter cards and a lot more goodies.  Here is a darling pair of Easter Bunny Baby Shoes and box to put them in that I made.
Here they are in the box.
I love there little button noses.
I love the cute little flower closures. I used velcro.

2 Creative Chicks Challenge #12 "Make A Apron" Week 3

It's the time for another challenge over at

Challenge Info
Make A Apron (no cards)
Saturday, March 1
Ends: Monday, March 31

Sponsor this month is:

T-shirt Apron

Recipe:
I used a men's X-large T-shirt. I cut the T-shirt following Youtube video directions (SO EASY). I cut the pocket and ruffle from the piece cut off of back. I sewed on pocket, gathered strip to make ruffle and sewed that on and then added three black buttons that I hand painted daisies on. I think it turned out pretty cute. You can do so much to these T-shirt aprons or nothing at all, it's up to you. Try one. You can literally cut the T-shirt into an apron in 3-4 minutes (yes I said MINUTES). Have fun!
