crisp air and sweaters

Finally Scrapping!

Wow, it has been way too long since I've spent any quality time in my craft room. I remedied that yesterday and completed 7 pages! I was especially excited to start the dance album for my youngest daughter, so I'll share those pages today.

Spring 2011- Rehearsing for the recital finale, "Firework" by Katie Perry.
Supplies- Paper (My Mind's Eye, Reminisce, Prima, Creative Imaginations, Basic Grey); Martha Stewart punch; Top Note Sizzix die; Zapdots; misc. ribbon

Popped up the title panel

Had fun layering papers, punches, and ribbon!

"More Rehearsal Moments"
Supplies- Paper (My Mind's Eye, Creative Memories); My Mind's Eye brads and flag

"Dazzling Darlings" professional portraits.
Supplies- Creative Memories Dance paper pack, metallic silver cardstock; CM star punch; Stampin' Up stamp (Baroque Motifs); Staz On Black ink; Studio 18 rhinestones; Funky Brush Sizzlet alpha dies

I love how Staz On ink allows you to place your stamped images on multiple surface types!

The perfect amount of shine...

One Little Word: January 2012

Last month's assignment included completing a few written prompts. Reflecting on our word and why we chose it, what we hope to gain through it...

My word for the year is health.
I am using a circle motif and shades of red and gray to carry me through the year and add cohesion to my album.

Whatever you call it, I have always loved to read!
Seems like I'm passing that on to my girls...

Don't you just love their matching Princess Snuggies?!

Making Valentines- A Layout

This year, filling out Valentines for classmates was quite the production. Each card was inspected and read carefully in order to choose just the right one for each person. My girls were careful to not send the wrong message to certain boys. Less than friendly girls did not get cards that said "BFF". And on and on and on. It was exhausting, but made for a cute layout!

I started with this sketch from PencilLines:

Supplies:
Paper- Basic Grey
Cardstock- CM
Die Cuts- Girls' Paperie
Flowers- Prima
Heart punches- CM
Viva Pink Glimmer Mist
Vellum title- CM
Adhesives- Helmar Adhesive Runner and 450 Quick Dry

Scrappin' Silhouettes #22- A Makeover!

My girlfriends from college and I get together twice a year for Girls' Weekend. In April of this year our time together included a trip to the mall for shopping and a makeover at Bare Minerals! I used Scrappin' Silhouettes #22 for my layout of Victoria getting gorgeous!

Most products are from Creative Memories.

Here is the sketch. To play along, create a layout based on this silhouette, then upload to the Scrappin' Silhouettes blog. Feel free to rotate or flip the sketch to fit your needs!

The Ears Have It- A Layout

Here is my take on this week's Scrappin' Silhouette. I made this, start to finish, in under an hour! I wanted to show what you can accomplish with a sketch as a starting point, and a pile of really old craft materials. Yes, everything on this layout is so old that I have no idea about manufacturers! Just "stash".

I used ribbon (applied with Tacky Glue) for the frame around the bottom photo, and the Creative Memories large circle pattern to create the yellow semi-circle.

Here is this week's sketch. We would love to have you play along and link up your creation! Be sure to stop by to check out the rest of the designs by our awesome design team, too!
