THANKS For all You Do!

Good Morning! Kim here, on this last day of April 2020! Despite the uncertainty that has been our past month, this I know for sure; it’s tulip season and Mother’s Day is right around the corner. Today’s card share could be used for your Mom or a Thank You in general.

This card uses a simple watercolour technique that should be on everyone’s ‘to try at least once’ list. If you have never tried it, let me show you a quick step by step. I have used the Quietfire Design Tulips stamp for my focus image.

1- Use water based markers like Tombow, Stampin’ Up or Ranger’s Distress markers. I have used two colours of green, a pink and a light purple.

2- Colour your stamp, not worrying too much if your colours overlap a bit, I often add in order of light to dark.

3- Gently mist your coloured stamp with water. This reactivates the ink and will allow for the watercolour effect.

4- Carefully stamp your image onto watercolour paper, using other types of paper will produce slightly different results, not quite as soft as watercolour paper.

When you lift up the stamp, the magic is revealed!

My sentiments both come from the Quietfire Design Thanks Cuddlers set. I used the watercolour technique using just one colour on ‘for all you do’.

For a little extra fun I embossed the word stamp ‘THANKS’ using Armenian Pink Modern Gilding Powder.

Check out that colour and shine! Armenian Pink makes my knees week, it is absolutely GORGEOUS!

Hope this technique finds it’s way to a card near you!

Merci - Grid Background, Tulips, The Best Thing - Easel card

Yogi here today and I was in a mood to do something French...

I'm using a die "Merci"from Elizabeth Craft Designs, also available on Quietfire Design HERE

I'm also using a quote and design element stamps from Quietfire Design ("The Best Thing"); ("Grid Background"); ("Tulips")

Scored and folded my red textured cardstock to create my easel structure. Cut another piece same size as card (5"w x 7"h) and adhered to front.

If you've been watching Suzanne on Facebook Live on Thursday evenings, you'll have noticed she uses a clear plastic in her Stampin Platform. Great idea. I usually just shove a piece of tracing paper...

So I used the clear plastic technique and the "Grid Background" stamp and repeatedly stamped the design on white cardstock using Versafine Clair "Glamorous" stamp pad until my grid covered the whole of my cardstock. Trimmed down and adhered to card front.

Stamped the Eiffel Tower image (Darice "Paris") using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed on white cardstock. Sponged a bit of Distress "Salty Ocean" very lightly to create a cloudy sky. PS use any large stamped image or die cut or digital image of an Eiffel Tower...

Created a silhouette file of the tulips and electronically cut several from white cardstock. Stamped with a red and a green Distress pads. Applied some of the color to a craft sheet and picked up the color with a wet paintbrush. Adhered several to card front.

Die cut the "Merci" from red cardstock and adhered to card front.

Added a couple of linear flying birds with a black marker.

On the floor:

Created another piece of the grid background as well as stamping the quote with the "Glamorous" pad and clear embossed then die cut with Spellbinder's Oval die set.

Adhered one of the Tulip stamped images (the whole design with the flourishes) partially to the floor to act as my stopper.

Brayered Embossing Just For You

Happy Tuesday!!  I hope your week is going well so far!!  I have a fun card for you today that would work well for Valentine's Day or anytime.

I've used Quietfire's Tulips rubber stamp and the cutting die set, Just for You.

For the background I've used a brayer, paint, and embossing powder.  I started with brayering a little bit of Fresco Finish Chalk Paint (Guacamoli).  This paint dries very quickly.  I had thought that maybe if I worked quickly some embossing powder would stick, but no.  It worked out well in the end.

Next I brayered some Distress Paint (Picked Raspberry).  This stays wet longer.

I then added Mixed Media Embossing Powder (Punch).  You can see it stuck well to the Distress Paint.

And here it is melted.

I stamped the Tulips with Archival Ink Jet Black onto watercolor paper.  I used the Stamping Platform so I could get a good image on the textured paper.  Color was added with Distress Inks and a water brush.

I die cut them into a deckled rectangle.

Just For You was cut from dark green cardstock and from gold Kraft Metallic.

I also cut a rectangle of the gold Kraft Metallic and ran it through an embossing folder.  The folded base is a gold metallic cardstock.

And there you have it.  A fun, easy card that could have many looks just by changing your paint and embossing powder colors.

Hugs, Wanda  (Art By Wanda)

Love lives here- Tulips

Hi Y'all!
Robyn here with an all occasion ATC
featuring
New Stamps from
Quietfire Design.

The stamping is created using stamp positioners and  masking
and  the painting with no line watercoloring.

Begin with stamping on a piece of acetate to position your stamp on the card.

Put the card in the positioner and move the  acetate around till the image is where you want it to be.

Remove the acetate and stamp in a light water based ink.
Distress old paper was used here so you can see it.
This ATC was done with Distress antique linen

Stamp on masking paper and position over the card

Use a positioner again to get the placement of the third tulip

Ta da!
Save the mask to use again.

Use your favorite water medium to color to your hearts content.
The light ink will disappear into the painting.
Outline the flourish with gold gouache or a pen can be used.

was positioned as above, stamped in Versafine Onyx and thermal embossed clear.

Here is the ATC without the masking.

Which do you prefer?

Anyone can change everything

Hello Crafty Friends!

Are you ready for some inspiration?  Yes, the Quietfire Design Team has been loving Suzanne Cannon's newest stamp release.  We have all enjoyed sharing projects using the new release.  The stamps are gorgeous and full of inspirational quotes and images for your next crafty project.  Today I would like to share a project using Quietfire Design's Anyone can change everything and Tulips stamp sets.

Card instructions:

  1. Apply Tombow markers to Tulips stamp.  "Huff" onto the stamp to moisten the ink.  Stamp onto marker paper.  Color in tulips and leaves as desired.
  2. Stamp quote onto paper using black archival ink.
  3. Die cut using rectangle die.
  4. Add grass using Tombow markers.
  5. Die cut gold card stock using Spellbinders Tallulah Frill die.
  6. Create tent fold card from white card stock.
  7. Cut coordinating yellow card stock to size and mount.
  8. Mount gold die cut.  Mount tulips and quote using double sided adhesive tape.

Seeing tulips makes me smile.  Such a pretty stamp!

Feel free to check out the new release...it is fantastic!  Oh- and the almost gone forever items are 50% off. Super sweet.  :)

Thank you for stopping by!
Have a happy, crafty day.
Big Hugs,

Destiny and Tulips

Happy Monday!!!  It's Wanda here today.  If you didn't already know, Quietfire Design has brand new stamps - Yay!!!!  You can see them all HERE.  Today I'm using two of the images from the new release - Tulips and Destiny

Cut two pieces of watercolor paper 4 1/8" x 5 3/8".  Lay a stencil (The Crafter's Workshop) on one of the pieces, spray with Distress Spray Stain (I used Picked Raspberry and Wild Honey), lift stencil from paper, flip over, place on other piece of paper, press with a paper towel, and lift stencil.  You have two backgrounds that can be used.  For today's card I've used the first piece and I'll keep the other piece for a future project.

After determining my placement of stamps, I used my finger to lightly rub some white paint in the area the quote would go and then also splattered some white paint over the panel.  Using a Stamp Platform the Tulips were stamped once with black ink and then again with VersaMark Ink. Black Sparkle Embossing Powder (Ranger) was added and melted.  Color was added to the Tulips with Distress Ink and a Water Brush.  Again using a Stamp Platform the quote was stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black ink repeating a few times for better coverage on the watercolor paper and to deepen the black.  The edges of the panel were inked with VersaMark and embossed with Black Sparkle powder.  A piece of fiber is wrapped and stapled and the panel attached to a folded pink card.
