2017 is the 15th anniversary of indie studio Focus Features (who distributed our favorite Pride & Prejudice 2005 movie). To celebrate its 15 years , the studio is putting together “ The Focus 15 Screening Series ”, a collection of throwback screenings that will highlight some of Focus’ most successful films including three of Joe Wright 's films: Pride & Prejudice (starring Keira Knightley & Matthew Macfadyen ), Atonement (starring Keira Knightley with Brenda Blethyn co-starring), and Hanna ( Tom Hollander   co-star)...plus Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Moonrise Kingdom , Brokeback Mountain , Milk , Shaun of the Dead , Burn After Reading , and more. These screening series will be held in Los Angeles , New York , and London . Now, that the first trailer for Joe Wright's new 'Anna Karenina' film starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen! is here (which was released about a week ago today), I thought I'd compile all the trailers of brilliant and acclaimed director Joe Wright 's five feature films in one post. In such a short time of this award winning filmmaker's directorial career (following the award-winning box office successes “Pride & Prejudice” and “Atonement” ), JW had directed all 5 of these wonderful and amazing (from period to musical to action and back to period) feature films.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has just announced the DVD and Blu-ray disc release date of September 6th for Joe Wright 's recent theatrical released, action/suspense thriller film, Hanna starring an outstanding and talented cast in  Saoirse Ronan (leading the cast in the title role) with Eric Bana , Cate Blanchett , Tom Hollander , and Olivia Williams . The film, according to Box office Mojo , did very well and debuted at #2 in the U.S. domestic's box office grossing $12 million ( JW 's biggest opening weekend!) during the Easter weekend (with an estimated $30 million budget ) and now a total domestic gross of $40+ million (over 2 million more than P&P movie 's total domestic gross, which was $38.4 million , but that's because it started off as a limited release while Hanna was already in wide release) with an additional $18.2+ million foreign box office gross and a worldwide total gross of $58.7+ million in its 13 weeks theaters run....

I just saw Hanna recently and thought it was AWESOME! This was one of the few films I've been following and anticipating to see (obviously, I've been blogging about it and promoting it here: Hanna ) since I heard one of my favorite directors Joe Wright was directing it with an outstanding and talented cast in  Saoirse Ronan (leading the cast in the title role) with Eric Bana , Cate Blanchett , Tom Hollander , and Olivia Williams . This film was all that and more! It was much more than I expected and far surpasses my expectations. It definitely delivered, both the film and its actors' strong and solid performances. About.com just did a new interview with P&P / Atonement director Joe Wright as he promotes his upcoming new film, Hanna , which will be released in theaters April 8th . The last part of the interview was the mention of Anna Karenina that he was previously rumored to be doing next after Hanna . Now, it seems likely Anna Karenina will be his next film project if it all comes together. He might even re-team with Keira Knightley , who was previously rumored and is reportedly still attached to star in the still in development film as I previously posted here last November. Also, JW kinda hinted on Keira (though he didn't named her directly, but it was obvious he was referring to her to) possibly starring on this one in the title role, though it's not 100% confirmed yet . The first trailer for Pride & Prejudice / Atonement director Joe Wright 's new assasin flick Hanna (In U.S. Theaters April 8th, 2011 )starring in the title role, Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan ( Atonement and The Lovely Bones ), Eric Bana (The Time Traveler's Wife), Cate Blanchett (Robin Hood, Elizabeth movies), Olivia Williams (An Education, Miss Austen Regrets) and P&P 's very own Tom Hollander has just been released online. It's quite different from what we, P&P fans , were used to seeing JW 's new film, but it's still very interesting with wonderful and very talented actors on it. Though Tom Hollander ( Mr. Collins ) looks to (still) be sporting a blonde hair color (much like in Any Human Heart with Matthew Macfadyen ), and he looked and acted funny on the trailer, lol. Pride & Prejudice director   Joe Wright attended the New York Comic-Con Saturday ( October 9th ) with the two lead stars ( Saoirse Ronan and Eric Bana ) of his upcoming new teen assassin flick, Hanna (from Focus Features , whose Academy Award nominated films include P&P and Atonement both directed by JW and starring Keira Knightley ). Joe Wright and two of his Hanna actors' Ronan and Bana had a panel at NYCC and discussed the new film in the Q&A moderated by IGN as well as showed the first footage/clips of  Hanna and mentioned that The Chemical Brothers will provide the score for the entire film . Also, JW responded to a question from First Showing , saying he secured the big beat titans to provide a more “modern beat” to Hanna . Variety reports that Lovely Bones (and Atonement ) star Saoirse Ronan will re-team with her Atonement director Joe Wright in a teen assassin flick, Hanna . Here's the mini article...
