Polymeri Online 25.1.14 | Nunu's house of delicates, Button beads, Quick heart shape bead, Lauri Mod Podge transfers, Dream catcher in polymer and Knitted heart

Nunu's house of (polymer) delicates
Nunu's house is a heaven of candy, deli's and good food, only it is miniature and made of clay (polymer?).
In his Japanese blog Tomo Tanaka is featuring beautiful pictures of his miniature food which looks almost 100% real. Not a day to start a diet.
http://koapin.blog61.fc2.com/blog-entry-287.html
Wandering in his website (using google translate of course) I found out where the miniature food artists get all their cool tiny kitchenware and other accessories which makes this art looks so real! there are special online stores for all the teeny tiny tools which makes the final picture looks so authentic as if it is taken in a real set.

Violette's polymer button beads
Canadian Violette Laporte, also featured in PolymeriOnline a while ago, posted a cute tutorial for creating beads using buttons. She creates molds from a button, back and front and then press both halves together to create a whole bead. Antiquing with gilders paste or acrylic paint is also an option!

Super quick polymer clay heart bead
Looking forward to Valentines day? Here is a 1-2-3 step pictorial for creating a chubby heart! Thank you Zelodius Morton for this pinterest link

Lauri Mika Mod Podge transfer technique
Another find by Zelodius's Pinterest is a video demonstrating Lauri Mika and her Mod Podge transfer technique.  I had the pleasure of seeing Lauri demonstrating in person and now you can enjoy her lovely personality and demo as well! Use a laser printer picture and spread Mod Podge to transfer it into the clay!

dream catcher in polymer
Dream catcher in polymer? maybe a miniature version?
Here is a lovely tutorial creating a miniature threaded bead using cernit clay by MonstersCircus from Denmark.
You can use any clay of your choice to create this mix media design!

The bead can decorate your home or used as a pendant!

Let's finish with another heart project, this time from Russian Anna Bragin. Anna is using an extruder to create faux knitting effect and then cutting her heart. A button embellishment is added to create a super cute sweater brooch!

Polymeri Online 10.2.13 | Tectonic bangles, Filigree patience, Polymer "Valen-Tins", Domed heart pendants and Illuminated smiley purses

Techtonic Polymer Clay
Have you seen Izabela Nowak's latest Tectonic bangles? I was open mouthed! So unique! Izabela is always keeping us intrigued by her beautiful designs and ooak innovations. Don't miss her "tectonic" pendants as well, it's "Earth-Quaking"...

Filigree Polymer Clay Tutorial

Marusic said she promised a master class on making filigree and she is keeping her promises (yay!) tedious - yes, time consuming - yes, but not difficult. All you'll need for this project is clay in two colors, liquid clay, cutting tool (knife, blade, etc.), toothpicks, needle and metal powders (and lot's of spare time!)
Another similar design of this delicate, tiny art form was posted in Sage Bray's blog featuring Olga Shukova. Admirable.

"Valen-Tins"

MaryAnne posted lovely tin covers especially for Valentines, she calls it "Valen-tins" :) Playing with textures and colors is common in her flickr gallery, Jewelry, journals, beads. don't miss her beautiful looking bracelet
and bangles.

Valentine's Heart Pendant Tutorial

Here is a fun tutorial by Becky from "PoshPinkGiraffe" for heart pendants for Valentines, using the Mod Podge Dimensional Magic to create a domed effect. This material is definitely worth checking, I'll have to look for it when I am in USA next week.
http://poshpinkgiraffe.blogspot.co.il/2013/02/sweet-heart-polymer-clay-jewelry.html

4 days to my trip and I am finalizing my preparations with one final experiment, a glowing smiley purse (without glow in the dark clay) using translucent clays and tiny illumination. These can be so cool as atmosphere lights, hanging around the house, in case of loss of power (Beware Nemo Blizzard!) or even as Christmas tree ornaments!
Keep your fingers crossed for me that Nemo won't come back....
I am not sure posting in my blog will be possible while I am traveling, so you are welcome to follow me on FaceBook.
See you in another continent!

Polymeri Online 25.3.12 | Owls on TV, Smiley face cane, Pink bunny and Knotted jewelry

My last day of packing and getting ready to my trip started when I found out one of my kids passport will expire in 3 days. I have no idea how that happened but we spent ALL day running all over the country to fix it. I think I lost 10 years of my life from the stress, but now all is ready, thanks god.

Last PolymeriOnline post before I go -

Henry and Albert are 2 brother owls. They like video games, computer and watches T.V all day long. Esther/Mocha is a polymer clay artist who loves animals and creates them with lot's of love and details.

French artist - GADOUILLE made a face cane and is sharing with us some of the steps on the way to become a final cane. She says it is not what she expected and I say - why? :)

I know Valentine was 1.5 months ago, but here is a cute bunny tutorial made with Fimo air basic. The tutorial is made by Kellie from "Makeitwithme" blog

Some of DisenyArte (Olga) recent jewelry are made of polymer clay beads and a kind of macrame knotting. The final result is impressive, colorful and unique.

See you on another continent! :)

Polymeri Online Valentine 2012 | Hearts ALL Hearts

Valentine is a day away, just in time for 4 additional polymer hearts!

Susan Crocenzi (Sucra) created this elaborated heart wall hanging with ceramic, glass, smalti & millefiore. Susan is a Mixed-media artist teaching techniques for Mosaicists - Tempered Glass and Polymer Clay.

Polymer Penguin is Julee. She discovered polymer clay 6 years ago, At first she worked on the projects in the garage, but quickly outgrew it. Now, she is converted her old quilting room over to polymer clay.

Check out her wonderful heart earring set - antiqued with liquid polymer clay colored with black ink.

Adriana Allen has a touching personal story in her etsy profile. Every item she creates is a victory over her unforgiving disease: arthritis. She has it for 30 years but never gave up. Every piece she creates proves her that the disease cannot stop her from doing what she loves.
As I was checking out her cuff in Etsy, it was sold! I hope all hearts will!
This link is to an additional cuff of hers - green colored.

Check out this heart charm, looks like metal - right?
RubyShoesSam (Sandra DeYoung) did a great job with this one, sculpted into a heart, textured and highlighted to give it an aged silver metal look.
Sandra was mentioned before in PolymeriOnline on 2008 so it's time to take a new look at her art.

Have a great LOVEly holiday! I'm off to eat a chocolate heart :)

Polymer clay crocheted heart/flower decor - Free video tutorial for Valentine!

In our family, a fridge is not just a place to put your groceries. It's a photo album+.
Photos, magnets, memos, test schedule, special announcements, calendars, bills - thank god that fridges are so big you can place items on all 3 sides of it ;)

Anyway, it's a while now that my mother asked me for REAL photos of my kids. Not digital photos - real ones.
In the digital age we hardly make photo copies any more, almost all of us have gazillion photos in our hard drive and almost none in our albums and guess what - although this happen we keep buying the newest camera on the market.

So I decided, it's a good time to make 3 special photo decorations for my mom's fridge with all 6 grandchildren photos - mine and my 2 sisters.

For a while now I wanted to combine my basic crochet skills in a polymer clay piece so this was a fun project that can be a last minute gift for your loved ones, Valentine or any occasion, this decoration can be used as a big magnet on a fridge, a wall hanging ornament, a key-chain, bag charm, beads for a necklace or even part of a gift wrap!

The great thing about doing this project with polymer clay is that you can apply any technique you like on it and you'll get an original design. Of course it can be done with paper, air dry clay and many other materials as well, just keep in mind the holes and the hook size.

Basic crochet knowledge is recommended but if you do not know how to crochet you will get the idea by watching me work plus a recommended YouTube channel for many crochet tutorials. This channel taught me so much! I really recommend it.

So mom, even though Valentine is a holiday you mostly celebrate with your other half (mine is going to be abroad) - this one is for you :)

Polymeri Online 13.2.11

DesignTheory is a curator of contemporary art (as well as former visual artist and chef) who is obsessed with great design, in all its forms.
This piece is a real statement one, the organic forms of this necklace were inspired by the modernist sculpture of Brazilian artist Sergio Camargo and the song 'Fire of Love'.

Jessica made a beautiful christmas ornament which is perfect for valentine as well :) this golden heart cupcake is made of polymer and painted with acrylics.
and a group photo

Kindred Spirit Studios / Michelle DP's work is inspired by African tribal colors, patterns and motifs and the natural world. She works with paper, ink, stamps and her mix media work is full of color. I am almost certain i can see polymer clay in her pieces.

Supplies! I am always fond of goodies shops - In whysperFairy store you'll find silicone molds for wonderful quick and easy pieces -

Puffy heart beads and "diamond-like" magnets?

Valentine's Day is around the corner!
Although Valentine's Day isn't a jewish holiday, it's still one of my favorite days and it's a good excuse to leave all the laundry/cooking/dishes (& kids) at home and show my love to my sweet other half that makes my artistic passion possible :)

Among the gifts given as a Valentine's Day gift, jewelry is the most common.
Why not make it ourselves? Handmade jewelry goes a step farther by being a gift that is truly from the heart.

I have been playing with ideas and came up with 2 new tutorials for the holiday. They can be used for Valentine's Day but not only! they are also great for any time of year and you will learn a new technique to use in your future projects!
The new heart themed tutorials make perfect gifts for the upcoming Valentine's day!

Wishing you a LOVEly day :)

Winner in the Valentine Hunt

This was a real fun game!! all members from PCAGOE made a Valentine Scavenger Hunt and all Etsy users and guests were invited!

In Hebrew we call it something like "search for the hidden treasure" :)

well, i had to make a drawing, from the 30 people sending me they found the hidden photo, and you know something? i was so sorry i couldn't give each and everyone the prize! i know how it feels when i am trying to win something and not winning...it's funny but i suddenly saw how it looks from the giver side...

anyway, i have a winner! it's Jennifer, and she will be getting a gift set of 4 of my heart beads from a new set i made - "Glowing Bloom", it's a green style set, made with FIMO glow in the dark base, so some of the beads really glow! 13 of them are now for sale in my Etsy store.

thank you all & Congratulation Jennifer!
