Hilla Bushari Magical transfer papers - Use your own photos, transfer them onto paper & clay! FREE video tutorial

I met Hilla Bushari many years ago in a polymer clay guild event, back when we both started working with polymer clay (10 years ago? but who's counting :).
Since then each turned to her own path but from time to time we share knowledge and discuss polymer matters.

After sharing a great success with the “Cosmic Ceramic” tutorial, we talked again and realized we can work together but in a different way of sharing.

While I was working on my INKredible Polymer class using alcohol inks, I got several samples of Hilla’s printed transfer paper.
What will I tell you people! The colors, the beautiful patterns!
If you ever wanted any photo, print, logo or surface technique on your clay – these papers are at your service.

So I played with the papers, adding inks, stamps, laser transfers, stencils – anything goes!
Then I added some macramé knotting around it - loved the result.

Yes, I know what you’re thinking – placing a transferred image onto clay is using polymer mearly as a background medium and not as a role player; Well, you're right in a way, but sometimes it's just what we need!

How do you work with the papers?
Simple – either order blank papers and print them yourself (ink printer, not laser), OR, purchase one of her ready-made printed papers with endless beautiful designs.

Place the sheet face down on your rolled fimo clay, attach well, wait 20-30 minutes, release the paper and that’s it! Quick and easy!

Hilla’s transfer papers are currently made to work with Fimo clay brand only but I’m sure that in the future there will be a solution for other clay brands as well.

These papers are a wonderful solution to transfer your own drawings, patterns and even photos to the paper, print and transfer onto polymer clay.

Hilla's papers can be purchased in her Etsy shop -

2 FREE Micro Macrame video tutorials - When Polymer clay and alcohol inks meet cords and knots

Polymer clay adapts into it so many mix media techniques - glass, mosaic, crochet - everything can be decorated with polymer clay beads...
So why not Micro Macrame knotting?

Micro Macrame may look complicated at first sight but it is in fact a very simple handcraft dated hundreds of years ago, used all over the world with thin / thick cords.

You can find macrame knotting in home accessories, jewellery, fashion and many more.

Once you master 3-4 basic knots you can create your own patterns and design and combine them with your own custom made polymer clay beads.

No need for special tools or materials! Only cords and beads!

Here is a free sneak peek to 2 free tutorials creating polymer clay earrings combined with metal findings and knotting.

If you do not have metal finding with holes you can create your own using polymer clay and small cutters, tooth picks or drilling after baking.

Click here to view both videos;

Have fun!

BunnyX new polymer mushroom city
Bunny X productions is building a little town of polymer clay mushrooms, all decorated, colorful and seems cozy enough to live in
Her slogan “make art, live forever” is a good one.
Art sure makes us happy and happiness is a key to long life, isn’t it?
In her etsy she is selling her tentacles jewelry along with her mushroom “carnival cottage” buildings. Looking for a new neighbourhood? consider hers...

Polymer clay Gaudi’s inspired mosaic
Radada has some original organic pieces in her flickr gallery.
At first sight it seems mosaic but it’s polymer clay. Gaudi’s inspired this specific piece and she won one of the first places in a contestunder “décor” category, sharing her place with another artist (KalinkaPolinka).

Polymeri Online 18.1.15 | Weaving Polymer Baskets, Lace and owls, Fisherman keychain, Atmosphere polymer clay, Playing with oil paint & Valentines day polymer clay free tutorials ideas

Polymer clay in basket weaving?
January was my month of crafts.
I had an urge to try "ancient" crafts such as basket weaving.

Taking a pause from routines and looking sideways is always good for creativity.

So I started my weaving classes with a local artist (Tal Shemesh from Israel) using palm branches as the base for our baskets.
The branches are soaked in water for 24 hours prior to working and then they are pliable and flexible.
That being said, you cannot imagine my sore fingers after every single workshop. It's real hard work!

Being a polymer clay artist, I had to give the basket my personal touch and first made rough beads, later replaced with "retro" beads.
My teacher (never worked with polymer clay) was quite happy with the original piece ;)

The basket was supposed to be an umbrella container but after almost all our umbrellas broke (or got lost by the children) it's temporarily acting as a decorative vase :)

Online inspiration? Let's see...

Anastasia's lacy designs
Anastasia Astafieva has a magical Instagram appearance.
Her designs range from doll pendants, tiny embroidery clay pieces, lacy polymer, and many photos of her traveling adventures.

She is sharing some of her process photos in her blog and in her YouTube channel.

If you're looking for clean, well photographed inspiration, follow her account.

Fisherman's keychain
Another fun Instagram find is Lyubov Elovskaya's fish keychain and elephant necklace designs.
Although her Instagram is still in it's starting point take a look and follow.

Nevenue's jewelry
Nevenue's flickr gallery is all about texture, paints, atmosphere and rough surfaces.
Her name "Nevenue" stands for "a new avenue of her life".
She became passionate about polymer clay in 2011. It has been ever since an instrument of communicating her inner-self. (sale goes for many of us, I think)

Christine's polymer and oil paints
Christine Kaczmarek worked in many mediums but her favorite is polymer clay. She has been working with ceramic clay but keep coming back to polymer.
Her inspiration comes from all around ever since she started, back in the 80s.
She is playing with millefiori canning as well as oil paint on polymer.

Valentine's day inspiration
Not polymer but wouldn't it be fun to create your own polymer clay Valentine's Day stones and paint them with markers? Round, heart shaped - everything goes! Great activity with children too!

A reminder to some of the Valentine's day freebies you will find in my PolyPediaOnline polymer clay tutorials page - Crocheted photo frame & a speedy heart cane!
