Polymeri Online 18.10.15 | Illustrating with polymer, 3D vase veneering, Rounded millefiori candy beads and Rusty horrors!

Great Halloween goodies!

Helena Bogosian is an award winning artist known for her 3-D clay illustrations. She is the creator of the popular Clay Quests series of puzzle books and her clay illustrations have been featured in books, magazines, posters, and websites. She is using polymer clay for her illustrations, which she sculpts and then digitally photographs. All preliminary sketches are done in clay as well.
Don't miss her clay animations videos.

Olga Perova is a polymer clay sculptor creating both jewellery in different techniques as well as figures with a character. Some of her large sized vases has a ceramic base which is covered with polymer clay. According to her Facebook page she is currently living in London.

Ju Lau Shtuki is an instagram find which I had difficulty finding more about. She is a polymer clay artist enjoying her time creating beautiful round beads made of tiny millefiori canes in lovely shades and colours. It seems like she is a seller of clay supplies in Russia but I couldn't understand much from the translation and photos in her gallery. Beautiful beads!

Imge Celepci calls her art “Rusty Blonde Art”. What does this means? Does it have any connection to the fact that she is a beautiful blond lady who specializes on scary figurines sculpturing?
She is a painter, sculptor, singer, vegetarian, horror fan from Istanbul and her instagram gallery is full of known and un-known faces all bloddy and scared J perfect to Halloween!
Say hi to Johnny Depp and Chucky for me!

Polymeri Online 19.8.12 | Polymer windup toys, Marine & Zippered jeans bracelets, 3D avocado cane and Cute cake toppers

Polymer clay toys
Sswoss is a Singapore artist who specialize in design, illustration and both integrated into clay illustration designs.
If I am correct, she takes windup toys, add polymer clay figures, details and decorations, and you have a whole new different super special toy.
She is also using paper and scissors to create her unique designs, in this photo with a cute rocking giraffe toy.

Click on the right column to see more of her work, and her blog here

Marine polymer clay wavy bracelet
Dina Kovalkina's Marine bracelet reminded me that I haven't been in the beach this summer. This is especially ridiculous because I live 10 minutes of the nearest beach...
The jellyfish and the extreme heat kept me in the air condition but thanks to my daily walks to the post office I got a nice tan on my arms (with sunscreen!) :)
Her bracelet is all wavy on the sides, this feature will work great with the super soft clay these days.
She is from Russia and uses polymer clay with semi-precious stones, glasses and Czech crystal stones .
http://www.flickr.com/photos/dinslava/4964577792/
Here is another coily earring set to think about.

Polymer clay zippered bracelet
Zippered jeans bracelet? Spanish Miryam Garcia made this one for a swap in the spanish association, The swap was to make a trade for a bracelet or bangle with another member.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/dinkyta/7543760108/
Don't miss her brush beads - metal base beads with millefiori canes as brush hair!

Avocado millefiori cane
I found Elizabeth West avocado cane in her flickr gallery a long time ago, I really liked the center part of it - made of shaded brown which seems almost 3D.
I wish she had more of her polymer work in her flickr/etsy.

Polymer clay cake toppers
I couldn't resist Maria's cake toppers, They are so cute! Maria finished tourist & business administration Studies in Greece, She opened up her Etsy shop after being motivated to do so by friends and family. Polymeri Online 25.7.09 - Emi Sfard

My 3rd & last artist in this sequence is Emi Sfard from Israel, ever since she remembers herself she has been painting, illustrating, sculpting and disassembling devices to see how they work. she was five year old when started attending the Youth Wing of the Israeli Museum of Art, which soon became her second home. There, she was exposed to a world of materials and to the history of art, and learned jewelry, sculpturing, painting, and more.
Later, she studied carpentry for a couple of years. In parallel, took private lessons in drawing and painting with the artist Marek Yanai.
Her first degree in Industrial Design is from Bezalel Academy of Art. she worked as an industrial designer for five years, whereas three of them were spent in Frog Design, Milan Italy. At the end of this period she realized that her passion was still, as it has always been, illustration, painting and sculpting.

Today, she is living in Tel-Aviv and dedicate herself to illustration and painting.

The photo i've included in this post is one of photos made for a 3D Passover Hagada, The illustration work was done by sculpting scenes that were then photographed using special equipment and method to create a 3D image.

Polymeri Online 24.7.09 - Suzanne Del Rizzo

Suzanne Del Rizzo is a stay at home mom with four small children, from Oakville Ontario.
she has a honours science degree from Queen's University but always had a passion for art. she has worked with polymer clay since the early'90's during and after university, but only recently began exploring plasticine as a medium after reading a few books my children brought home from the library illustrated by Barbara Ried. she was totally inspired by her fantastic plasticine illustrations, and liked the properties of plasticine as it stays pliable and doesn't require baking, in the past she used to work with polymer clay to make jewelry, but decided to focus on plasticine at the moment.
Suzanne loves doing cottage/home portraits and depicting children at play, and she takes pride in adding very specific details to her work, to make it something unique and special.

we can be inspired by this beautiful work!

Lindly Haunani tips about keeping knives sharp worth a million -
* don’t cut directly onto a glass or marble work-surface, use a slip sheet of bond paper, index card or deli-wrap instead
* when trimming clay against metal = bead mandrels or metal rulers use a utility knife instead
* store your blade when not in use in a plastic box sleeve or a polymer clay blade case
* try to avoid dropping it onto hard surfaces, as a burr at the end of the blade makes for “dull” cutting
* the acidity in some people’s natural skin oils can cause the blade to tarnish and drag... read more in this link:

Marina Bychkova from http://www.enchanteddoll.com/ makes (according to her) distant, far-away sadness dolls that recall childhood fairy-tales, and a dark, brooding sexuality. These are definitely not kid's toys, but stunning works of art.

Linda S. Wingerter grew up in a family of artists: her great grandfather painted church murals in Russia, her grandfather was a puppeteer, her grandmother was a miniaturist, her father was a graphic artist, and her mother is a book designer. She became a published artist at 13 when Cricket Magazine printed her drawing of a paper dragon in their letter pages.
Linda enjoys renovating her 90 year old house, making dolls, figure skating, and playing the fiddle and musical saw. She uses painted sculpy for the dolls head, the rest is: lace, muslin, ribbon, metal moulding, wire, DMC thread, dowels, and costume jewelry.

Polymeri Online 1.3.07

Barbara Reid does wonders with clay illustration. Her style, her perfectness - magic!

born in 1957 in Toronto, Ontario.
After winning a creative writing contest in grade six, she decided to become a writer when she grew up. But by the end of high school it was clear that although she enjoyed writing, she liked reading a lot more, and drawing best of all. At the Ontario College of Art and Design her focus was illustration, and it was for a class assignment that she first experimented with plasticine to make a dimensional picture. The project was a surprise success, and when she entered another plasticine picture in a calendar contest to her surprise she won the contest.

And another site, too bad the photos are not that clear but you can try one of those plastilina figures on wire:
