Proper Pilgrims -- Freebie!

Today, I am thankful that my mama taught me how to cook….including how to make her dressing for Thanksgiving! This is our family's first holiday season without her,  my mother-in-law, or my nephew. I guess it's time to combine some new traditions with the old ones and celebrate being together while remembering Memi, Nell, and Garner.

Your freebie today is a review of proper nouns.

Capitalization Freebie

My kiddos need more practice on capitalizing geographic places, holidays, and product names.
I re-cycled the Perfect Pumpkin activity I used during Halloween with a Thanksgiving theme.
I used the same terms I used earlier because the kiddos still aren't able to sort the different types of proper nouns.
They record their sorts on a tri-fold foldable and add their own terms. I let them copy words they find in books or glue in terms from newspapers and magazines.

Proper Pumpkins - Freebie

My thirty-one days of Halloween freebies is almost over!
This freebie focuses on a Common Core ELA standard.

Second graders must capitalize the names of holidays, geographic names, and product names. In this activity, they not only sort the nouns and write them using correct capitalization, but they have to design their own graphic organizer to record their sort.
