Last Minute Plans

This morning was a rough one...oh, if I can just make it through the teen years! By 8:00 am I was tired, upset, not wanting to be a mom for one day, and depressed. So Vivian and I headed to the gym after dropping the kids off at the bus stop. I ran into Heather, a new friend with a listening ear (thank you for the flowers - that was so thoughtful and kind!). Oh, some days are just more difficult than others. I thought I might come home and cry or take a long nap - but I ended up doing neither.

Instead I decided - very last minute- to join my mom and sisters at BYU Women's Conference. So I am off tomorrow morning to enjoy an extended weekend. I hope to return home refreshed and re-energized.

On the BYU Women's Conference website it says, "We hope that through your participation in Women’s Conference you will feel a renewed determination to choose Christ in every circumstance and feel His hand lifting you up as you do so. Now with gratitude, faith, and hope may we choose Him. May we choose light and the liberty of Christ. May we choose the pure love of Christ, which is the greatest of all (1 Corinthians 13:13)."

So for the remaining hours in the day I: fixed a few extra dinners to leave on hand for the family, baked cookies and muffins, attended the temple with Paul (we met an extended relative and Paul ran into an old acquaintance), folded laundry, tidied up the kitchen, stopped by the grocery store, made arrangements for rides and Vivian, wrote up a schedule for Paul, packed my bags, and a million other things! I packed a few days worth of stuff into one afternoon!

Good for you Tiff!!! I'm proud of you. It will be the perfect get away to feel better about EVERYTHING!! Know that you're not alone, though you're problems may be different, us moms all have days like those and I think that it's awesome that you are going to BYU Women's Conference!! Have fun, let me know if I can do anything for ya!!

Hi Tiffani, I feel so badly I went on and on about myself last Tues and didn't know you were suffering too. Next time, please bonk me over the head and let me know I'm not the only Mom in the world feeling overwhelmed. I hope you have returned from your w/e feeling renewed. You are a wonderful person, friend, wife and mother. Take care, God bless you and I look forward to seeing you later this week. Kim
