Papericious March Challenge | Birthday Wishes with a Twist!

Hello everyone!
Welcome to our March Blog Challenge at Papericious.
This is Shakti, from Shakti Art Creations, and I am very much excited to host this month's blog challenge. Here is the theme of this month's Blog Challenge - Birthday Wishes with a Twist.

This month is special for us as it's our FIFTH BIRTHDAY! WOHOO! To celebrate this occasion, we've decided to keep the theme of the challenge -  Birthday Wishes, but with a lil' twist:
Create a birthday themed project and incorporate 5 somewhere on your project. This could be interpreted literally by using the number 5 on your project, or using 5 different elements, 5 embellishments of the same kind, or maybe 5 different embellishments, 5 colours, and so on. You must explain clearly in your post how you have interpreted the theme.

Inspiration Projects
Here's the inspiration project by my teamie, Swati Nahata, who has made an Explosion Box.

I created a box out of Midnight Black Cardstock, & have used Papericious Paper Pack - "ORANGE FALL". Talking about the papers, I feel the textures, & the designs they care are extremely gorgeous. For decorating the cap I've fussy cut a butterfly & a bow from Papericious Blush CCE Sheet, a birthday tag from Papericious DCE - Make a Wish, & Memories Frame - Papericious 3D Shaker Chippis.

And here's the inspiration project by me!
As this month's theme is Birthday projects, I tried to alter a Wooden Hoop in a birthday theme for this. I made this by using 5 different elements from the brand. To alter this, I have used Pattern Papers, Sequins, Papericious Chippies, Papericious CCE and Papericious DCE. For embellishing further, I also used some Mixed Media Stones and stamping as well.

Let's have a quick look at it:

I hope you guys are inspired by my project. Looking forward for some amazing entries for the challenge!

"Down at the Grosvenor" by Tina Ollett

Hello and welcome Papericious friends.
Tina here with you today to share a layout created with gorgeous Papericious goodies. This project I have titled "Down at the Grosvenor"......

My title name came about simply because this is the place where my children use to love to go on a weekend or in the school holidays when they were very young. Catching red claw was what they loved to do there and just simply explore the surroundings. I loved it too and really do miss it so.

So more about the layout. For my project I used the products below. I firstly covered these very cute hot air balloons with a thick coverage of Papericious Crackle Paint and left these to dry for a couple of hours. The crackle effect is awesome. Once it was dried I cut one of the balloons in half length ways and then inked the edges and over the cracks with Distress Walnut Stain Ink.

I then started on my background page using my fave collection from Papericious - Fleur Fun. I have used the yellow spots and the yellow butterfly papers. The yellow spots were primed with a Clear Gesso and left to dry. I then added in strips running lengthways down the centre to the right edge of the page of the yellow butterfly paper. I also added in between some of these layers some corrugated board from an old box that I tore up. I adhered these and then also cut a photo mat from another sheet of the yellow butterfly. These were all adhered and then I added in some texture using a Cadence Stencil with Papericious Modelling Paste. This was left to dry. When it dried I painted a little of Natural White Papericious Chalk Paint over the corrugated pieces. I also added in a little random stamping with a script stamp and Distress Walnut Stain ink.

The Papericious Chipboard Collage piece Checkers was inked using some Walnut Stain Distress Ink. While it was still wet I added over some White Papericious Gesso just to lighten the darkness a little bit.

I then went to work on embellishing my layout. I firstly added in the Hot Air Balloons. The full Balloon to the right and under the photo. The other one which I previously cut in half was added under the photo and the left of the photo and the other half at the left of the layout. I worked on adding in some pretty florals in ginger and mushroom colours to co-ordinate with the yellow. I also added in some green leaves and hand dyed muslin.

I also added in a handmade Flourish mould. This was coloured with Distress Ink also. I added in cut up pieces of the Papericious Checkers Chipboard.
Lastly I dry brushed my project with a little White Gesso to keep with the shabby chic themed that I was wanting to have.

And that was it. I hope you enjoyed this project with me today.
Stay tuned for more fantastic projects from the Design Team coming your way.
Take care and happy crafting.

Mini Album w/ Basket

Hello everyone!
Priya here, sharing a Mini album with Basket using Papericious BLISS Paper Pack!

I have also share a step by step instructions to make the same!
Here it is, enjoy!

Start with a piece of Pattern Paper - 12" by 9". Score at 3" and 9" on the 12" side and 3" and 6" on the 9" side.
Then, on the 12" side score at 2" and 10" up to the first score line you come to (3" in length), turn a 1/2 turn so the other 12" side is on the top fence and score again at 2" and 10" up to the scored line.

Cut away the rectangle formed at the corner by the 1/2 score and then cut as in the photo to form a flap that will create the corner on the basket.

Repeat on all corners as you see in picture.

Turn over and add Tacky Tape to the flaps and form the box.

I have added ink to edges!

Create a handle from a piece of Pattern paper 12"  by 1"

Attach the handle!

The Mini Album is created from 2 piece of Pattern Papers measuring 12" by 6" both scored at 4" and 8" along the 12" side. To attach the two pieces together, create a flap from a piece of pattern paper measuring 6" by 1 scored at 1/2" on the 1" side.

Attach the two tri-folds together.

 Now it’s time to decorate!
Decorate the way you want! Your mini album with basket is ready!

Well that’s all from me today!
I hope you have enjoyed this!
 Love,
Priya
