Week 26
I thought I would drop in a pregnancy update in the midst of all the bragging about my little man....LOL!
I am now at week 26 and in the last week of my second trimester! Who Hoo! So far this pregnancy has gone much better then my one with Jeremy. We are feeling far safer about the pregnancy going through to term...or at least 36 weeks...which for me is normal....
I have had one "bleed" so far, but it was mild, and I have had only a few contractions, where as with Jeremy, I had them pretty much from the start. I am on limited activities..due to my pregnancy history...but I am so uncomfortable that at this stage....it isn't really a problem..
I have no real cravings this time, but I am not really liking food either, and I have had much more nausea with this pregnancy then with others..
I have however only gained eight pounds..which makes me very happy! (grin)
All the easier to lose afterwards.....
Autumn is now moving almost constantly, which I love, as Jeremy didn't move much...but her favorite location seems to be my bladder, which means that some nights I am up two or three times....she weighs almost 2 lbs now....
and yes...for those of you who didn't know I am having a girl.....Autumn Grace.
We are very excited for the big day to come and looking foreward to meeting our little girl....(I will also be glad when summer is over....I am finding the heat killer....
Week Twenty-Six
* Your baby may weigh about two pounds now (average is 1.7 pound, 760gm) and is 14 inches (35.6cm) in length
* To support the fetus's growing body, the spine is getting stronger and more supple. Though no longer than the span of the average adult hand, it is now made up of 150 joints, 33 rings, and some 1,000 ligaments.
* Air sacs in the lungs form now.
* Lungs begin to secrete a greasy substance called surfactant. Without surfactant the fetal lungs would stick together and couldn't expand after the baby is born.
* Although they've been sealed shut for the last few months, your baby's eyes are opening and beginning to blink this week. Depending on ethnicity, some babies will be born with blue or gray-blue eyes (which may change color in the first 6 months of life) and some will be born with brown or dark eyes.
* Retinas begin to form.
* Brain wave activity for hearing and sight begins to be detectable.
* Fetal brain scans show response to touch. If you shine a light on your abdomen, your baby will turn his head, which according to researchers, means his optic nerve is working.

Jeremy's first ice cream cone
Tonight we took Jeremy to Dessart for his first cone (on his own)....
Kind of funny to wear a shirt that says, "eat your peas and carrots" while eating an ice cream cone.

Griffiths Petting Farm - Lumsden
The week after the arts festival we decided to bring Jeremy out to the petting zoo in Lumsden. Jeremy had lots of fun petting all the animals...but I have to say that Kendal and I weren't too impressed with the place....
First of all, it is pretty run down...as in the barns are in DESPERATE need of repair. The animals weren't really kept clean...some of the cages looked as though they hadn't been scooped in a month or more. Some animals had the runs, and their behinds were dirty, others had eyes in need of being taken care of.....
Jeremy did have fun anyways and we took some cool pictures, but I am really glad that we didn't go out on a hotter day. I forgot how hot it can get in an open feild....especially prego...
