Our Family Crisis

Dear Patriots,

I will make no attempt to "make sense" of the horrific tragedy that devastated the community of Newtown, Connecticut, and has shaken our nation.

How can we make sense of the senseless murder of twenty children and seven adults? How can we make sense of one deranged individual who was in such a dark place that he shot his own mother, murdered children and then killed himself?

Yesterday, my church -- like I'm sure countless places of worship -- paused to pray for the families, their community and our nation. Our president spoke, on our behalf, words of comfort and support.

Now, as we move forward, efforts will be made to prevent this from happening again -- or at least to minimize the risk. It will be a difficult task.

A Societal Cancer

What we face is more like a cancer than a virus. Our society has turned on itself, and these mass murders are the shocking fruit. The perpetrators of these crimes now typically turn their weapons on themselves and have essentially become societal suicide bombers. As the military knows, there is no real defense against a suicide bomber who has reached such a point of desperation and delusion that his own life doesn't matter.

Responding to this specific crisis with legislation would be a mistake that politicians will likely make.

Responding to the root cause of the crisis would be a better way to go.

And what is that root cause?

The destruction of the family.

I'm not discounting any other factors, but to address problems with our mental health institutions or virtual reality gaming or the drugging of our children or our gun laws or the media culture's glorification of such violence and not deal with the root cause of our societal decay are vain attempts to mask symptoms.

The statistics back me up on the destruction of the family being at the center of our na

tional crises, including violence. Before I cite the statistics, please do not take these numbers as a condemnation of single moms or dads. There is no condemnation. Many single parents are doing double duty and raising wonderful children.

But the numbers are hard to overlook.

Our Family Crisis

Consider what our family brokenness has done to society:

* 3 in 10 children grow up in broken homes.

* In the African-American community, it's far worse: two-thirds of black children grow up with one parent.

* More than half of all babies are conceived out of wedlock.

* Of those conceived out of wedlock, 4 in 10 are aborted. And so, the cycle of violence begins.

* Of the survivors of abortion, half the children born out of wedlock end up in poverty.

Children from broken homes account for:

--63% of teen suicides.
--71% of teen pregnancies.
--90% of homeless and runaways.
--71% of high school dropouts.
--75% of all drug users.
--85% of behavioral disorders.
--70% of those in juvenile detention.
--57% of all prison inmates.


Building Families in Tough Times

As you know, for the past few weeks, I've been on a journey of discovering and sharing lessons from a 2,500-year-old letter written by the prophet Jeremiah to Jewish exiles.

In light of the national discussion that will take place in the coming weeks, as we seek to heal and strengthen our land, I find it interesting that at the very center of Jeremiah's instructions to exiles is an explicit endorsement of family:

"Take wives and become the fathers of sons and daughters, and take wives for your sons and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; and multiply there and do not decrease" (Jeremiah 29:6, NASB).

In the midst of tough times, getting married and thinking about the future do not instinctively come to mind. Marriage is expensive. Children are expensive. Yet in Jeremiah's letter to exiles, marriage and child bearing are central to the instruction. Perhaps this is because in tough times -- at any time, for that matter -- the marriage bond is the stabilizing force for individuals, for families, for communities and even for a nation. Marriage and strong families are vital to thriving in exile.

What if our government policies unashamedly focused on the goal of reducing the fatherless and divorce rates? What if our laws profoundly preferred those who get married and stay married?

More importantly, what about you and me? After all, our laws only reflect our culture.

What are we actually doing in our families and communities to strengthen marriages? Is it clear in our social circles that sex out of wedlock is wrong? Are we holding young men accountable for their actions, demanding they take their responsibility as fathers seriously? Do men face any negative societal pressure for putting children and mothers at risk for the sake of fulfilling their own sexual exploits outside the marriage bond?

Many traditional wedding ceremonies include an open acknowledgment by all in attendance of their responsibility to do whatever it takes to help this new couple in their marriage. We should take that commitment much more seriously.

Every marriage faces profound times of crisis. Perhaps your prayer, phone call or offer to babysit could ultimately help save a marriage, keep a child from facing long odds and, dare I say, spare a community from another unspeakable horror.

Thing have become altogether dangerous thanks to a new strategy from the Left called “SWAT-ing.” Here's how "SWAT-ing" works....

A bogus 911 call is made claiming that there has been a shooting (or some other act of domestic violence) at the home of a conservative blogger. Usually these "SWAT-ing" calls are made in the middle of the night. Per emergency protocol, such a 911 call triggers a guns-drawn police action at the blogger's home which puts the blogger and his or her family at immediate risk.

The goal, of course, is to silence the blogger through intimidation.... "We know where you live... We can reach you in your home."

Blogger Gagged By Judge

Leftist individuals and groups funded by the likes of George Soros are also taking to filing frivolous lawsuits against conservative bloggers who simply do not have the "deep pockets' resources to fight back.

Those who do fight can find themselves in court facing a liberal judge who has no problem putting a "gag order" on the conservative blogger. This happened just last week.

Of course, the liberal media have not been quick to pick up the story -- although Fox News and even the ABC News online have reported on this in recent days. (See links below for stories and background information.)

Action: Demand A Full Investigation

As noted above, Sen. Chambliss has just issued a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder calling for the Justice Department to conduct a full investigation into the alleged "SWAT-ing" attacks against conservative bloggers.

This is an issue of vital concern to conservatives in our nation, especially in this election year. Our conservative bloggers are doing more to keep the statist machine in check than the entire establishment mainstream media -- with none of the deep-pocket resources.

That's why we are asking you to stand with your fellow conservatives who are working in the ideological trenches against what appears to be orchestrated efforts to silence conservative speech.

BOB SCHIEFFER: Today on FACE THE NATION, did you hear what Rick Santorum said. He's the man of the hour in Republican politics and he's with us this morning. The latest leader in the Republican race at the top of the national polls and even in Michigan where Mitt Romney grew up. Yesterday, he was feeling his oats. In one twenty-four-hour-period he questioned the President's religious beliefs.


RICK SANTORUM (Republican Presidential Candidate/Former Pennsylvania Senator): It's about some phony ideal, some phony theology, oh, not a theology based on the Bible, a different theology, but none-- no-- no less a theology.


BOB SCHIEFFER: Said prenatal testing is really just the President's way to reduce costs in taking care of the disabled.


RICK SANTORUM: Because it saves money in health care. Why? Because free prenatal testing ends up in more abortions and therefore less care that has to be done because we cull the ranks of the disabled in our society.


BOB SCHIEFFER: And questioned the value of public schools.


RICK SANTORUM: But the idea that the federal government should be running schools frankly much less that the state government should be running schools is anachronistic.

BOB SCHIEFFER: And good morning. Welcome, Senator.


You are the leader in the polls this morning. And I have to say you were very busy yesterday. The Associated Press led its story of your appearance in Columbus, Ohio, by saying, quote, "Rick Santorum questioned Barack Obama's Christian values." That was after you lashed out at the President's proposal on energy of all things when you said this.


RICK SANTORUM (Republican Presidential Candidate/Former Pennsylvania Senator): It's not about you. It's not about you. It's not about your quality of life. It's not about your jobs.


MAN: Right.


RICK SANTORUM: It's about some phony ideal, some phony theology. Oh, not a theology based on the Bible, a different theology.


(Crowd applauding)


BOB SCHIEFFER: So, Senator, I've got to ask you. What-- what in the world were you talking about, Sir?


RICK SANTORUM: Well, I was talking about the-- the radical environmentalists. That's why I was talking about energy, this-- this idea that-- that man is-- is not-- is here to serve the Earth as opposed to husband its resources and be good stewards of the Earth. And I think that is a-- a-- is a phony ideal. I don't believe that that's what-- that's what we're here to do. That-- we-- that-- that man is here to-- to use the resources and use them wisely, to care for the Earth, to be a steward of the Earth. But we're not here to serve the Earth. The Earth is not the objective. Man is the objective. And-- and I think a lot of radical-- a-- a-- a lot of radical environmentalists have it upside down.


BOB SCHIEFFER: Well, how does that translate into some sort of theology that the President's theology--


RICK SANTORUM (voice overlapping): Well, it's-- it's a world view.


BOB SCHIEFFER: --is not based on the Bible. I mean that suggests that he's not a Christian.


RICK SANTORUM: No, I wasn't suggesting that President's not a Christian. I accept the fact that the President is a Christian. I-- I just said that when you have a-- a-- a world view that-- that elevates the Earth above man and-- and-- and says that, you know, we can't take those resources because we're going to harm the Earth by-- by things that are-- that-- that frankly are just not scientifically proven, for example, that politicization of the whole global warming debate, I mean, this is just all-- all-- all an attempt to, you know, to centralize power and to give more power to the government. And-- and it's not questioning the President's beliefs in-- in Christianity. I'm talking about, you know, his-- the-- the belief that-- that man is-- should be in charge of the earth and should have--


BOB SCHIEFFER (voice overlapping): No, but once--


RICK SANTORUM: --dominion over it and should be good stewards of it.


BOB SCHIEFFER: I-- I don't want to just spend the whole program on this, but was your--


RICK SANTORUM (voice overlapping): Good.


BOB SCHIEFFER: --use of the word theology, perhaps, you could have had a better word than that? I mean, don't you know that-- that--


RICK SANTORUM (voice overlapping): It--


BOB SCHIEFFER: --or do you wonder that-- that might lead some people to suggest that you were questioning the President's faith?


RICK SANTORUM: Well-- no, because I've repeatedly said I don't question the President's faith. I've-- I've repeatedly said that I believe the President is a Christian. He says he is a Christian. But I'm talking about his world view or his-- the-- the way he approaches problems in this country and I think they're-- they're different than how most people do in America.


BOB SCHIEFFER: At another stop in Columbus, you took on the Pres-- President on prenatal care for expectant mothers. Here's what you said at this-- in this passage.


RICK SANTORUM: One of the things that you don't know about Obamacare and one of the mandates is they require free prenatal testing in every insurance policy in America. Why? Because it saves money in health care. Why? Because free prenatal testing ends up in more abortions and therefore less care that has to be done because we cull the ranks of the disabled in our society.


BOB SCHIEFFER: Senator, I-- I have to ask you to-- to give some explanation of that. You sound like you're saying that the purpose of prenatal care is to cause people to-- to have abortions, to get more abortions in this country. I think there are any number testing, I think any number of people would-- would say that's not the purpose at all.


RICK SANTORUM: Well, Bob, that's simply not true. The-- the bottom line is that a lot of prenatal tests are done to identify deformities in-- in utero and the customary procedure is to encourage abortions and in fact, prenatal testing that-- that particularly amniocentesis. I'm not talking about general prenatal care. You said prenatal care. I-- I didn't say prenatal care shouldn't be covered. We're talking about specifically prenatal testing and specifically amniocentesis, which is a-- which is a procedure that actually creates a risk of having a miscarriage when you have it and is done for the purposes of identifying maladies of a child in the womb. In-- in which in many cases and in fact most cases a physicians recommend, particularly if there's a problem, recommend abortion. We know, Bob, that ninety percent of Down syndrome children in America are aborted. So to suggest where does that come from? I have a child who has trisomy 18. Almost a hundred percent of trisomy 18 children are encouraged to be aborted. So, I know what I'm talking about here.


BOB SCHIEFFER: Well, I-- I know you know what you're talking about. I know that well. I know you also had another child that was stillborn. But--


RICK SANTORUM (overlapping): And I was--


BOB SCHIEFFER (overlapping): Didn't you want to know about that, just a minute.


(Cross talking)


BOB SCHIEFFER: Just hold on.


RICK SANTORUM: But what my-- my child was not stillborn. My child was born alive.


BOB SCHIEFFER: All right.


RICK SANTORUM: --and he lived two hours.


BOB SCHIEFFER: All right.


RICK SANTORUM: And by the way, prenatal testing was-- we had a-- we had a sonogram done there and they detected a problem. And, yes, the doctor said, you know, you-- you should consider an abortion. This is typical, Bob. This is what goes on and in-- in medical rooms around the country. And yes, prenatal testing, amniocentesis does, in fact, result more often than not in this country in abortions. That is-- that is a fact.


BOB SCHIEFFER: I stand corrected on the stillborn. You're absolutely right. I simply misspoke. But, Senator, do you not want any kind of prenatal testing? I mean would we just turn our back on science that this is something that expectant mothers should not go through, that it's best not to know about these things ahead of time? I mean is that what you're saying here?


RICK SANTORUM: No, I'm not saying. Look, people have the right to do it but to have the government force people to provide it free, just as to me, has a has is-- is a bit loaded. There are all sorts of prenatal testing which should be provided free. I have no problem with that if the-- if the insurance companies want to. I'm not for any of these things to be forced. Just let me-- just step back and say I don't believe any of these procedures, anything in insurance should be forced. So let me-- let me just start from there.


BOB SCHIEFFER: Okay.


RICK SANTORUM: But the idea of having, for example, sonograms and other types of prenatal care, absolutely, if-- if I think that is-- that is a wise thing to do. And If I was an employer, I would certainly encourage that. But not all prenatal testing, amniocenteses basically are used for the purposes of identifying children who are disabled and in most cases end up as a result with abortions. It's the bottom line.


BOB SCHIEFFER (overlapping): You're not saying. Let me just ask you, you're not saying that the cause of this, that the President looks down on disabled people, are you? You're not accusing him of that?


RICK SANTORUM: Well, the President supported partial birth abortion and partial birth abortion is a procedure used almost exclusively to-- to kill children late in pregnancy when they've been found out to be disabled. The President voted for a provision that-- that said that children born alive as a result of abortions late in pregnancy who were-- who were otherwise viable should be allowed to be killed by the doctor. I think the President has a very bad record on-- on-- on the issue of abortion and children who are disabled who are in the womb. And I think this simply is a continuation of that idea.


BOB SCHIEFFER: Well, since you brought all this up, I just wanted to make sure that everybody had a clear understanding of exactly what you meant--


RICK SANTORUM: Yeah.


BOB SCHIEFFER: And-- and how you feel about this. Another thing that raised a few eyebrows yesterday, Senator, you questioned the value of all things at the public school system. Now here's what you said about that.


RICK SANTORUM: But the idea that the federal government should be running schools, frankly, much less that the state government should be running schools is anachronistic. It goes back to the time of industrialization of America when people came off the farms where they did home school or have the little neighborhood school and into these big factories. So we built equal factories called public schools.


BOB SCHIEFFER: So, there you are, Senator. I mean, are you saying that we shouldn't have public schools now? I mean I thought public schools were the foundation of American democracy.


RICK SANTORUM: Yeah, I think, I'm saying that-- that local communities and-- and parents should be the ones who are in control of public education, not the-- certainly not the federal government and to as I said before, as I said in that clip I think the state governments have not done a particularly good job in public education. I think public education should be a dynamic process that's locally run, that works with parents to provide the optimal opportunity for each child in America to get the education that they need, not what the federal government or the state government says that you should have. That's why I refer to it as, you know, going back to the industrialization of America when we had a-- we had a system in-- in this country with industrialization where, you know, you had one car produced. And, you know, you maybe got it in two colors. And-- and we haven't changed public education significantly since then. Every single car on a Detroit line is custom ordered. Why? Because it's designed to meet the needs of the customer. The education system, federally run, state run, is not designed to meet the-- meet the needs of the customer. It's designed for the purposes of the school not the children and the parents who are the customers of that system. And I think we need a dramatic change in that system.


BOB SCHIEFFER: Well, you know, Senator, if everybody could afford to home school their children that would be one thing but--


RICK SANTORUM: I'm not talking about home schooling. I'm talking about public education, Bob.


BOB SCHIEFFER: Well, you know, there are little communities where the people couldn't afford to have a public school. And that's why you have states involved in the schools. And there-- there--


RICK SANTORUM: Well, there's one thing the state-- there's one thing for states to-- to help fund public education. It's another thing to dictate and micromanage and-- and create a "one size fits all education" system in states and certainly in the federal government what President Obama is trying to do. What we need is to have the same kind of change and dynamic change in the public school system as we've seen in the economy of this country. Customized. Everybody gets what they need. I have seven children. I can tell you each one of them learn differently. All of them can excel in different settings. And that goes with every-- every American child. And we can do better than a system that one in three children drop out of school. If that is the hallmark, Bob, that you talk about as a-- as a great society, when one of three children drop out of school and a lot of the folks who don't drop out of school still can't read at grade level, that to me is a failure and defending that failure is not something I'm planning on doing which is what the President does.


BOB SCHIEFFER: Well, what-- what do you do to-- what would you do to fix it, Senator?


RICK SANTORUM: Well, as I said before, first I'd get the federal government out. I would, to the extent possible with res-- with respect to mandates and-- and designing curriculum and the like, I would get the state government out. I think that-- that the parents should be in charge working with the local school district to try to design an educational environment for each child that optimizes their potential. And whether it's in a public school or a private school or a Christian school or whatever kind of-- and whatever kind of setting that is best that the people at the local level can determine, I think that's where we need to go in education. It's got to be a much more dynamic process. We are failing American children. Obama DOJ Sues “Vocal and Aggressive” Pro Lifer

While Obama’s Justice Department dismissed a critical voter intimidation case against a radical black revolutionary group, it’s going after a pro life advocate the agency calls one of “the most vocal and aggressive anti-abortion protestors.”

Ironically, the administration claims that the pro life advocate, a Maryland man named Richard Retta, intimidated and interfered with women seeking abortions in Washington D.C.-area clinics much like members of the New Black Panther Party did to white voters during the 2008 presidential election. The difference is that the Black Panthers, clad in military attire, used weapons, racial insults and profanity to deter voters.

Judicial Watch obtained records that show political appointees at the DOJ ordered the Black Panther case dismissed after the administration colluded with leftwing groups. JW’s investigation also revealed that the official Obama appointed to head the DOJ’s civil rights division, Assistant Attorney General Thomas Perez, lied under oath to cover up the Black Panther voter intimidation scandal.
Now Perez is pursuing a pro lifer for violating a Clinton-era law (Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act) that prohibits any sort of interference with a woman seeking an abortion. Retta physically obstructed a patient and volunteer escorts attempting to enter the Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington, according to a DOJ complaint filed a few days ago. He also “frequently walks very closely beside patients as they walk to the clinic” and he follows them into the street and oncoming traffic. Sometimes he yells at them, the feds claim.

In announcing the lawsuit, Perez vowed to pursue similar cases, saying that “individuals who seek to obtain or provide reproductive health services have the right to do so without encountering hazardous physical obstructions.” If one unarmed guy is considered such a threat, then a barrier of big, muscular, armed men intimidating voters during a presidential election certainly merits attention from the agency charged with enforcing the law and defending the interests of the United States. Yet that case got dismissed.

of the basics of Islam, complete
with a video.

After the presentations, time was
provided for questions and answers.
When it was my turn, I directed
my question to the Muslim and asked:
'Please, correct me if I'm wrong,
but I understand that most Imams and
clerics of Islam have declared
a holy jihad [Holy war] against the
infidels of the world and, that by
killing an infidel,
(which is a command to all Muslims)
they are assured of a place in heaven.
If that's the case, can you give me
the definition of an infidel?'
There was no disagreement with my
statements and, without hesitation,
he replied, 'Non-believers!'
I responded, 'So, let me make sure
I have this straight. All followers of
Allah have been commanded to kill
everyone who is not of your faith so
they can have a place in heaven.
Is that correct?'

The expression on his face
changed from one of authority
and command to that of a
little boy who had just been
caught with his hand
in the cookie jar.'
He sheepishly replied, 'Yes.'
I then stated, 'Well, sir, I have
a real problem trying to
imagine The Pope commanding
all Catholics to kill those of
your faith or Dr.Stanley ordering
all Protestants to do the same
in order to guarantee them
a place in heaven!'
The Muslim was speechless!

I continued, 'I also have a
problem with being your friend
when you and your brother clerics
are telling your followers to
kill me! Let me ask you a question:
Would you rather have your Allah,
who tells you to kill me in
order for you to go to heaven,

Isn't it amazing that your column entitled, "Can America sacrifice 15 million hungry kids", can come up with the figure that there are 15 million hungry kids in America? Where did you get this "assumed" figure, from one of the "loony liberal" left websites? Could it not have been 5, 10, 20, or 25 million, or for that matter 100? Who determined that figure of "assumed" hungry children, some Saul Alinsky acolyte trying to put America in a bad light? C'mon Rachel, you should know better than that. Most people are not that gullible or stupid enough to believe that crap.

With all the government help that's available to people and poor people in particular, it is almost impossible to have starving (hungry) children in our midst. We all have been hungry at one time or another in our lives, but to imply that we have a vast army of hungry children is preposterous. Have you seen the size and girth of the children in poor neighborhoods lately? They don't have an under nourishment problem, they have an obesity problem. Many of those "hungry" children come from families that have cars, LCD T.V.'s, cell phones, $150 Nike sneakers, and tattoos to go along with their "empty bellies". I know I'll be classified as being heartless and callous by pooh-poohing your claims of sacrificing hungry children by society, and by politicians who are only looking out to balance the damn budget as these millions of children starve. Hogwash! I will not succumb to the "political correctness" norms put forth by the liberals and neither should you.

Your liberal (or is it Progressive?) slant on this matter is typical of the continuous liberal attack on Republicans, Conservatives, and common sense. The canard that only liberals have the sensitivity and compassion to understand the plight of the poor is downright insulting. It has been your policies starting back in FDR's time and the start of LBJ's "War on Poverty" that has added to our social problems by making more and more people dependent on the government for handouts. Your rant in this column is just that - another anti-American bashing with no basis in fact except some pulled out of the air erroneous figures to justify a non-existent problem.

Is this the kind of rhetoric we can expect from the liberals in this upcoming election season? Already the "class warfare" banner has been unfurled by the Democrats as they can't possibly run on their dismal economic record and failed foreign policy. Make as many of the people dependent on the government to gain their votes, and make the successful (the rich) their oppressors, will be the modus operandi of these self-styled hypocrites called Democrats. Listening To Progressives Is Torture

Dear Professor Robert Watson:

I guess you couldn't resist bringing in the Bush Administration when you were describing the horrible conditions at Andersonville prison during the Civil War (S/S June 19, 2011).

How can you equate the "shocking" revelations about the so-called enhanced "torture" at Guantanomo with what went on at Andersonville? The military detention center at Guantanomo is an example of our commitment to being humane to our enemies, and should not be used as a political hammer against your political adversaries (the Republicans and Conservatives). The military prison (detention center) at Guantanomo is the epitome of how a prison should combine punishment (detention) and at the same time being humane. You, supposedly being an objective historian (who heads up a liberal progressive group called, "Think, Act, and Lead"), should not try to compare apples and oranges as you did with Guantanomo and Andersonville.

You never mention that your buddy (Obama) has continued these supposed un-American detention policies, but you always equate them with the Bush Administration. Your bias is blatant and overt, especially troubling for an objective professor of American Studies at Lynn University (or so you claim to be).

As an aside, you liberals (progressives) use the word torture as something that we, as a country, do on a regular basis. To me, torture is cutting off fingers, arms, legs, ears and tongues, putting electrical wires on genitals, lashing people with whips, stoning political opponents etc., etc., as opposed to our enhanced techniques of waterboarding (no one has died or had permanent injuries as a result of this procedure), sleep deprivation and other psychological methods. Granted, these are not pleasant techniques, but do they rise to the level of what should be called torture? I guess if a Republican does it it is torture, but if a Democrat does it it is not torture. The hypocrisy of the left (of which you are an "esteemed" member) is on display almost daily in the biased media. Shame on you and your other fellow travelers.

In Defense of 'Hurtful' Speech
I was tried for a thought crime despite being an elected politician and the leader of the third-largest party in the Dutch parliament. Yesterday was a beautiful day for freedom of speech in the Netherlands. An Amsterdam court acquitted me of all charges of hate speech after a legal ordeal that lasted almost two years.

The Dutch people learned that political debate has not been stifled in their country. They learned they are still allowed to speak critically about Islam, and that resistance against Islamization is not a crime. I was brought to trial despite being an elected politician and the leader of the third-largest party in the Dutch parliament. I was not prosecuted for anything I did, but for what I said.

My view on Islam is that it is not so much a religion as a totalitarian political ideology with religious elements. While there are many moderate Muslims, Islam's political ideology is radical and has global ambitions. I expressed these views in newspaper interviews, op-ed articles, and in my 2008 documentary, "Fitna."

I was dragged to court by leftist and Islamic organizations that were bent not only on silencing me but on stifling public debate. My accusers claimed that I deliberately "insulted" and "incited discrimination and hatred" against Muslims. The Dutch penal code states in its articles 137c and 137d that anyone who either "publicly, verbally or in writing or image, deliberately expresses himself in any way that incites hatred against a group of people" or "in any way that insults a group of people because of their race, their religion or belief, their hetero- or homosexual inclination or their physical, psychological or mental handicap, will be punished."

I was dragged to court for statements that I made as a politician and which were meant to stimulate public debate in a country where public debate has stagnated for decades. Dutch political parties see themselves as guardians of a sterile status quo. I want our problems to be discussed. I believe that politicians have a public trust to further debates about important issues. I firmly believe that every public debate holds the prospect of enlightenment.

My views represent those of a growing number of Dutch voters, who have flocked to the Party for Freedom, or PVV. The PVV is the fastest-growing party in the country, expanding from one seat in the 150-seat House of Representatives in 2004, to nine seats in 2006 and 24 seats in 2010. My party's views, however, are so uncommon in the Netherlands that they are considered blasphemous by powerful elites who fear and resent discussion.

That's why I was taken to court, even though the public prosecutor saw no reason to prosecute me. "Freedom of expression fulfills an essential role in public debate in a democratic society," the prosecutors repeatedly said during my trial. "That comments are hurtful and offensive for a large number of Muslims does not mean that they are punishable."

The Netherlands is one of the few countries in the world where a court can force the public prosecutor to prosecute someone. In January 2009, three judges of the Amsterdam Appeals Court ordered my prosecution in a politically motivated verdict that focused on the content of the case. They implied that I was guilty. The case was subsequently referred to the Amsterdam Court of First Instance.

The judges who acquitted me yesterday already had a peremptory ruling from the appeals court on their desk. They decided, however, to follow the arguments of the public prosecutor, who during the trial had once again reiterated his position and had asked for a full acquittal.

Though I am obviously relieved by yesterday's decision, my thoughts go to people such as Danish journalist Lars Hedegaard, Austrian human rights activist Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff and others who have recently been convicted for criticizing Islam. They have not been as fortunate. In far too many Western countries, it is still impossible to have a debate about the nature of Islam.

The biggest threat to our democracies is not political debate, nor is it public dissent. As the American judge Learned Hand once said in a speech: "That community is already in the process of dissolution . . . where faith in the eventual supremacy of reason has become so timid that we dare not enter our convictions in the open lists to win or lose." It has been a tenet in European and American thinking that men are only free when they respect each other's freedom. If the courts can no longer guarantee this, then surely a community is in the process of dissolution.
Legislation such as articles 137c and 137d of the Dutch Penal Code disgraces our democratic free societies. On the basis of such legislation, I was prevented from representing my million-and-a-half voters in parliament because I had to be in the courtroom for several days, sometimes up to three days per week, during the past year and a half. Such legislation should be abolished. It should be abolished in all Western countries where it exists-and replaced by First Amendment clauses.

Citizens should never allow themselves to be silenced. I have spoken, I speak and I shall continue to speak.

Accident” or Jihad?: Egyptian Pilot’s Near Miss @ JFK Airport

Hmmm . . . an EgyptAir pilot takes a wrong turn “by accident” and nearly causes a collision with a Lufthansa plane speeding down the runway and about to take off from New York’s JFK airport. “Accident” or deliberate jihad? It wouldn’t exactly be the first time an Egyptian pilot deliberately engaged in jihad and purposefully murdered passengers. And pilots just don’t make boneheaded moves like the one this Muslim pilot made on Monday. Listen to the audio of the pilots, below. Do you really think this Egyptian pilot is such a moron . . . or cold and calculating? I vote the latter.

EgyptAir or JihadAir?: Making the Skies–AND the Runways–Not So Friendly
In November 1999, co-pilot Gamil Al-Batouti deliberately crashed his EgyptAir plane into the ocean, off the coast of Massachusetts, killing more than 200 passengers, after being recorded saying Muslim prayers to Allah. He waited until the captain of the flight left the cabin and disconnected auto-pilot. Although “experts” said it was a suicide, he could have easily committed suicide on his own, rather than take a plane down carrying a number of Americans. It was clearly an act of Islamic terrorism. And there have been a number of other mysterious and suspicious EgyptAir crashes in recent years.

But, no worries, the EgyptAir pilot from the Monday incident took off 90 minutes later, and the pilot is safely away from American reach. Thanks, federal agents, for letting this pilot leave the U.S. without any investigation whatsoever. Only in America. I guarantee you that if an American pilot did this in Egypt, he’d long since have been tortured to death.

A packed Lufthansa jet narrowly avoided a deadly collision with an EgyptAir flight that had taxied into its path at Kennedy Airport, terrifying air traffic control tapes revealed.

“Cancel takeoff! Cancel takeoff plans!” shouted a rattled air traffic controller as the massive Lufthansa Airbus A340 steamrolled toward the EgyptAir Boeing 777 just before 7 p.m. Monday.

“Lufthansa 411 heavy is rejecting takeoff,” the pilot acknowledged as the plane screeched to a halt just moments before the potential disaster.
“All traffic is stopped right now,” the controller informed all planes, according to recordings posted on LiveATC.net.

The narrowly averted disaster came as the Cairo-bound Egyptian airliner had apparently mistakenly turned the wrong way onto Runway 22R.
The error occurred just as the Munich-bound Lufthansa flight was approaching full lift-off speed of 180 mph less than a mile away.

Stunned pilots who witnessed the near tragedy as they circled the airport let out sighs of relief that no one was killed.
“Those two were coming together,” radioed one unidentified pilot.
“That was quite a show. I thought it was going to be a short career,” a Virgin America pilot arriving from Los Angeles radioed in moments later.

If the two planes had collided, it could easily have turned into a catastrophic calamity – the Lufthansa plane was carrying 286 passengers and the EgyptAir flight can carry up to 346.

After screeching to a halt, the Lufthansa flight crew requested maintenance crews come and check their overheated brakes.
“Maybe we have hot brakes right now. Maybe we take a minute,” a flight crew member radioed to the tower.

The flight took off safely about 40 minutes later. The EgyptAir took off 90 minutes later.

It seems very suspicious and hardly an “accident.” And letting this pilot leave the U.S. just an hour and a half later? Truly boneheaded.

Do you think that if an Israeli or British or French pilot nearly murdered hundreds of Americans at an Airport just miles from Ground Zero, the pilot would be gone from America 90 minutes later without any attempt to detain him?

Dream on. But, hey, we gotta be extra-super-nice to the Muslim pilot, ‘cuz–ya know–maybe it will make ‘em like us better.

Education Liberal Columbia Professor Keeps Job Despite Pleading Guilty to Incest Charge

Last December Columbia University Professor David Epstein was in the headlines. Not for his blog posts at the Huffington Post on issues ranging from torture to Sarah Palin, but rather for his arrest and charge of having participated in a three year sexual relationship with his 24-year-old daughter. The Columbia Spectator’s Jackie Carrero and Mikey Zhong have reported that despite pleading guilty to a misdemeanor charge for attempted incest on May 10, Mr. Epstein will remain a Professor at the $40,000+ yearly tuition Ivy League university.

Mr. Epstein taught at Columbia University along with his wife, a political science professor, and the two were featured in a 2008 Spectator article on professors who “bring love to work.” Manhattan District Attorney’s office criminal complaint in December read that “professor David Epstein’s incest was committed between July 2006 and June 2009 at University Apartment Housing building on 120th Street,” and the New York Daily News reported that the relationship featured “twisted text messages.”

Can you imagine Goldstein telling Rep. West to "man up", that's what you call chutzpuh coming from a "wuss" like Goldstein. I don't think Goldstein could shine Allen West's boots - even if West let him do it. Stephen, are you serious or are you just mouthing one of the "Rules for Radicals" by the late Saul Alinsky?

Nicole Sandler didn't come to Rep. West's town hall meeting to be enlightened, she came loaded for "bear" and to disrupt the meeting, thereby bringing attention to her failing talk show career. She accomplished the fact that she got publicity, but she failed in getting support for her goofy left-wing views. Whenever Goldstein comes to the defense of a liberal "loon" like Sandler, you know that the Obamamaniacs are in panic mode.

I've been to West's town hall meetings and he let's anyone ask a question or to make a statement. On this occasion, trying to not have constituents line up behind a microphone, thereby blocking the view of the other attendees, he had them write down the questions. She didn't do it, she just wanted to disrupt, which she did and got arrested for it.

The arrest was done by the police and not Rep. Allen West. Why should he apologize?

exemption based on this.

assets, including real estate, cattle, cars, etc., and even accounts

have no such penalty and will have 100% of his health needs paid for by
the de facto government insurance at our expense. Non-Muslims will be

‘J Street’ Rabbis Keeping Congregations Barefoot and Pregnant

Now just a minute - hold on there, Sir. What kind of provocative headline is that? Are you insinuating that the more moderate, middle-of-the-road, albeit somewhat left-leaning Liberal Rabbis that hold sway over their well-to-do congregations in Boynton Beach, Delray Beach and Boca Raton are literally keeping their flocks of sheeple barefoot and pregnant? I can’t believe you mean that. I ask you point-blank Sir, precisely what do you mean by that?

Well, dear reader, if you really want to know and if you’ll actually listen, I’ll explain. First, the ‘barefoot and pregnant’ reference is of course, purposefully calculated to get your attention, incite and irritate you. I gather that it worked. It is also meant to draw attention to direct parallels in actions taken by a number of European Rabbis in the 1930’s and more than a few Rabbis here in our country, today. In Germany, Austria and Poland leading up to WWII, many rabbis kept shushing members of their congregations and admonishing them not to become too vocal in opposition to the anti-Semitism and increasing violence by the ascendancy of Hitler and the Nazis.

And today, right in our own backyard, Jewish spiritual leaders such as Rabbi Dan Levin of Temple Beth El in Boca Raton, Rabbi David Baum of Cong. Shaarei Kodesh in Boca Raton and Rabbi Anthony Fratello of Temple Shaarei Shalom in Boynton Beach are once again, advocating peace, patience and tolerance in the face of very real, imminent threats to the security and actual survival of the nations of Israel and the United States. We’ve cited these three Rabbis because as leaders of local Jewish congregations, they were among the 269 rabbis who signed a full-page ad that appeared in the Wall Street Journal on January 27, 2011 and in other selected newspapers across the nation. This ad purported to justify the fallacious notion that adherents to J Street’s philosophical position are wholeheartedly supporting the threatened State of Israel. Wrong. In actuality, the J Street crowd is unquestionably, pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel. Their claims to the contrary are as hollow and hypocritical as they can be.

These full-page ads weren’t cheap; just to run them cost several thousand dollars each. We were curious to know who actually paid for them. ‘Jewish Funds for Justice’ sponsored these all-revealing blockbuster ads. So, what is this group, what does it stand for and who is behind the curtain? One guess – right! Good old, kindly, benevolent gazillionaire, George Soros. ‘Jewish Funds..’ is but one of many George Soros-financed shadow organizations designed to destroy the traditional liberty and freedoms enjoyed in America, as guaranteed by The Constitution of the United States. Why would anyone want to do that? Soros hates The Constitution and the free-market system and is spending unlimited millions to destroy our economy and national security for his own demonic purposes. Are you slightly curious about who this bird really is? Briefly, he is an internationally infamous ‘fallen’ Jew, who has admitted publicly that he collaborated with the Nazis during World War II. I suggest that you check out George Soros on the internet and learn for yourself, about this devil incarnate. If you hadn’t been so propagandized against Glenn Beck and if you had watched his programs on FOX over the past year or two, you would know all this.

I understand however, that it takes some folks a bit longer to arrive at their own ‘Come-to-Jesus’ moment – especially if they are Liberal Jews living in South East Florida. How do I know this? Because, I am a ‘Come-to-Conservatism’ Jew, now living in South East Florida, who had to overcome the example set by my parents, both of whom lived through the Great Depression years and of course, helped to vote Democrat Franklin D. Roosevelt into the Presidency, for four consecutive terms.

Now, let me address my aforementioned Jewish neighbors in the Boynton, Delray and Boca region. To those good and decent Jews who make the effort to ‘educate themselves and stay informed by sitting in front of their wall-mounted, high-def plasma screens watching CNN and MSNBC - - to those with or without Lasik-corrected vision who faithfully read the South Palm Beach Jewish Journal and believe everything they read - - to those from Jews who attend Temple and are lulled into a stupor while listening to ‘peace & love’ sermons from their Rabbis - who constantly admonish them, ‘not to make waves’ - - I offer the following facts for your enlightenment:

J Street is the Pied Piper and you dear neighbors, are the clueless, blind followers who have found a comfy home in the crowd of deviant, anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian, radical Jews. Yes, I said, ‘radical’. How can you be radical you ask, when you feel so benign? Think about it. Are you truly for Israel’s survival or are you into playing word games without getting involved?

Quite obviously, you are still following the lead of the most notorious among the ‘Jews Gone Wild’, the great goniff himself, Robert Wexler. Our boy Wexie, was able to cast a spell over the ‘smartest of the smart’ in Florida’s District 19 for some thirteen years, and convince them that they did indeed, have representation in the U.S. House of Representatives. Your might recall that the handsome Clinton-toady Wexler’ the quintessential ultra-Liberal Democrat, suddenly and unexpectedly resigned as our Representative in order to avoid the impending result of an FBI investigation into his illegal financial shenanigans.

Accompanying that announcement, Wexie the Pure, announced that he had ‘accepted’ a post with ‘the Center for Middle East Peace’. This organization is J Street, in drag. Wexler is betting all he has, except his pristine reputation (thought you could use a laugh right about now), that the Palestinians will be shoe-horned into Statehood by this and other groups who believe that the Obama administration and the Arab supporting nations in the UN can thusly, bring about the eventual destruction of Israel.

Adding to the pressures being put upon Israel, are the terribly disheartening and most disturbing, unambiguous threats and harsh ultimatums that have been issued by this President, directly from the Oval Office - and echoed so slavishly by highly-placed members of this administration. Our Lord, Master & Savior, and his enablers who speak so loudly to the contrary, are actually engaged in a full-court-press attack on Israel’s right to defend herself against the bloodthirsty, hated-filled forces that surround her. And, they unashamedly invoke the mantle of those anti-Semitic, anti-Israeli, anti-American member nations of the corrupt UN, to justify the blatantly out-in-the-open frontal attack by the fanatic followers of Islam – operating both in the Middle East and now, from within our very own borders.

I make no distinction between so-called ‘radical Islam’ and Islam because in actuality, no rational distinction can be made. Islam is not a religion anymore than the Democrat Party is a religion. They are both out-&-out, single-purpose political machines with their leaders marching in lock-step toward one common objective – that being, to completely dominate and totally control as much of the spineless Westernized civilization on this planet, as possible. However, in the case of Islam, they fully expect that sooner or later they will dominate the world. When these people speak, we’d be well advised to pay attention and listen.

Evangelical Christians in this country are leading from the front, in the effort to protect and preserve the State of Israel from the legion of Jew & Israel haters. Bless them for that. Sad to say, there are far too many Jews in the United States who are still ‘waiting to be convinced’ that there is a problem. How weird is that?

Obama’s Approval Rating Plummeting!

We see that Barry Soetoro is sinking in the ratings. The sad thing is that he had a boast from that Tuscon deal. What a horrible atrocity that good Americans were killed by a Nazi Left Winger and the Chicago Thugs use that tragedy to start a Barry Soetoro reelection campaign. The Left is just plain sick!

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows that 23% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Forty percent (40%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -17.

The president’s Approval Index ratings have fallen nine points since Monday as the crisis in Egypt unfolds. Most of the decline comes from a fall in the number who Strongly Approve of the president’s performance (30% on Monday, 23% now). However, for the first time since mid-December, the number who Strongly Disapprove has moved back over the 40% mark for five straight days. The Strongly Disapprove total had been above 40% for most of 2010 but fell to the high-30s after the president and Senate Republicans reached a deal to extend the Bush Administration tax cuts.

Overall, 46% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the president’s performance. Fifty-three percent (53%) disapprove.

Gallup is showing the same trend. He got the boost, the Obama honeymoon, and then headed into a steep decline. 45/47 now.

But we know the cause. The rating peaked after the Tucson shooting and his speech to the nation it seemed but its been going down ever since. First his horrible, just horrible, State of the Union speech and then his amateurish reaction to the Egypt crisis. The man demanded an immediate transition and Mubarak flipped him the bird. World leaders must look at this man and be amazed at the stupidity of the American public for putting such a neophyte into office.

If you watched Sean Hannity last night, she posed a very logical question.
If Jared Laughner didn't use a gun, but instead barreled down the
street in an SUV at 70mph, mowing down dozens of innocent people,
will the backers for repealing the 2nd amendment lobby to ban SUVs?
It's the nut behind the gun sight and the jerk behind the wheel, not the
apparatus.

Owning a gun without a permit, driving a car without a license, being
in this country without proper documentation is illegal. The latter is
guilty of all three felonies, so how does my fellow friends from the left
intend to remedy the situation? Our laws allow for legal citizens to apply
for a drivers license and gun permit, but it isn't written anywhere that an
illegal intruder has the right to bare arms or drive a car. Yet many homicides
and vehicular deaths are caused by these illegal intruders. So how is repealing
the 2nd amendment going to stop anyone from obtaining a firearm outside
the law? If anybody has evil intent, guns are readily available, law or no law!
