Sleeping Cutie

It's all about Flower Power at In The Pink Challenge this month and I've opted for flowers in my image, papers and embellishments.  This little critter is aptly named 'Sleeping Cutie' and I've coloured him with reinkers with a splash of pencil for the detail on the flowers.

Water-coloured on Langton Watercolour paper with Ranger Distress Ink Reinkers:
  • Fur: Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo, Gathered Twigs,
  • Greens: Bundled Sage, Peeled Paint, Forest Moss
  • Wings: Tumbled Glass, Bundled Sage
  • Flowers: Seedless Preserves
  • Oranges: Wild Honey, Carved Pumpkin

Bonnie

I've used a sweet little image featuring a Wee Stamp bunny called Bonnie today.  She's sat in a basket wearing her floral bonnet (I love her ears poking through it!).  This is my final outing as guest designer with the The Ribbon Girl Challenge (*sniff, sob*) but I've had such fun playing along (thank you Mary).  The theme this fortnight, as usual for the mid month challenge, is to use any image, so there's no excuse not to play along. :0)

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

Following yesterday's Wee Freddie, today's card features Wee Rudolph, again using the no-lines technique.  I've stitched the panels as well as using a stitched wave die for the top banner.  A little strip of button twine and a couple of dinky bells is all I've added to him.

Magical Dragon

Today's post features a very quick 'just for fun' card using a Wee image that I just 'had to have'! I've watercoloured him using the 'no lines technique' (yup, I'm a glutton for punishment!) but I was quite pleased with how he turned out so gave him the focus of the card in the end. :0)

A Wee Christmas Card

I've got a simple 'Just for Fun' card to share today.  I must have spent at least 2 hours each on the 'no-lines' coloured images I've been posting recently but I do love how they turn out.  I wasn't overly pleased with the uber CAS layout that I gave this one; I think my mojo was on holiday when I pulled the card together and it feels a bit unfinished to me.

Flower Power

Today's challenge at As You Like It Challenge is to share whether you like bought or handmade flowers, and although I do like die cut flowers, these mulberry flowers from Wild Orchid Craft have to be my all-time favourites.  I have them pretty much in every colour combo and love using the various sizes in little floral arrays around my images.  I've framed my Wee bug with two sets of pretty pink flowers to match my pink colour theme.

Mariposa

I am not sure what possessed me to think that the no-lines colouring would be a good idea, because it took me 4 times longer to paint this image than it does normally, but I was quite pleased with the outcome.

The papers are actually from a winter set, but I use them a fair bit for non-Christmas cards because they're so pretty and you can hardly see the snowflakes!  Plus the florals on the paper matched the blossom in the image so I thought it would be perfect.

Looks like me when I've been watercolouring ....

This week's theme at As You Like It is 'your favourite hobby'.  Mine is definitely crafting, and in particular watercolouring my images. So I've improvised with this image which shows my young Wee pup getting a bit sticky with some pain.  A bit like me!

Springtime

I got this image a couple of weeks ago and have just got around to inking him up.  Isn't he a cutie! I've kept the colours simple, just pink and brown, so even the little birdie in the basket is pink.

Is anybody else suddenly craving strawberries and chocolate?

Baby Squirrel

This card was a commission for a lovely guy who'd purchased one of my cards in the summer for his friend, who he calls Squirrel, (not to be confused with this Squirrel).  He contacted me to say that his friend is having a baby next month and he wondered if I could make a white with girly pink accessories, baby squirrel card.

Today I'm sharing the result.

The circle sentiment reads "Congratulations Squirrel, beautiful baby girl".

I hope she likes it.  :0)

Here's a close up of the squirrel to show the shimmer on the flowers.  I also popped some glossy accents on his nose, and this has unfortunately caught the light a bit too much!

Another Quick and Easy Fairy

This is my second card using the new Rowan Fairy kit.  The kit is great for a quick cards.   I've used a different pre-coloured topper this time, and teamed her with pink papers from the same Antique Library papers that I used on Monday.

The kit also contains the ribbon, brad and card base.  I've added a die cut and some sparkle for her wings and lantern.

And don't forget the new Wild Rose Studio images are released, and are on pre-order at The Stamp Basket.

But brace yourself, they are CUTE.

Just take a peek at these .....

Rowan Fairy

I've not used coloured toppers before, so this is something new for me, but they're great for a quick make, or if you're not very confident with your own colouring skills.  This little sweetie is a Hobby House topper from The Stamp Basket.  The papers are the lovely Antique Library which I think match the image perfectly.

They both come in a kit now available at The Stamp Basket, which also contains the ribbon, some buttons, twine and even the card base, so everything you need to make a pretty set of Fairy cards.  The only things I've added to the kit are some foam pads, some sparkle on her wings and also a cloudy background.

And while I've got your attention, the new Wild Rose Studio Christmas images are out, and on pre-order at The Stamp Basket.  They are ADORABLE.  I'm definitely going to need some of these.  They are right up my street.  Pop over there to have a drool.  I think this one is my favourite (I have a penchant for penguins!)

Mountain Lily

I found some of my lovely Nitwit papers at the bottom of my stash, and decided to use them on today's card. These papers are really thick and have a gorgeous fabric appearance and I really love them, especially the blue one and needless to say that's the one I only have scraps of.  But I decided to follow a simple sketch where I could use some of my scraps.

I've used a sweet Wee Stamp called Mountain Lily, and I've popped a layered snowflake in the top corner for her to look at as she is looking up into the sky.

Hang in there

The theme today at Top Tip Tuesday is to use the sketch that our lovely teamie Deneen has found for us.

I'll admit that I was a bit unsure about the sketch when I first saw it;  I prefer square cards to rectangles, and I seem to struggle with oval shapes, but I interpreted it in my own style and adapted it a bit, although you should still be able to see the underlying sketch.

My card features a sweet image called Fluffy Hanging in There.  It's available in rubber from our sponsor, Stamp & Create, or as a digi stamp from Wee Stamps.

A Wee Christmas Planner

The theme today at As You Like It Challenge is to case your favourite designer.  I can't remember if I picked this theme or not now, but either way, I found it really hard just to decide who was my favourite designer.   I have well over 100 blogs that I follow regularly in my 'inspiration' reading list, many who I've followed for several years because I love their style and they never fail to amaze me with their creativity.

Selecting just one for today's project was nearly impossible, and took me just as long as making the actual project, but after a lot of pondering, Dena Concienne is the person I've chosen to case.  I think what snagged it was a Christmas Planner that she made recently, which was something that I wanted to make as soon as I saw it.

However it was not just the planner that I love about Dena's work;  her colouring is something I've also admired for a long time, and I've watched her watercolour painting video several times to try to improve my DI painting.

The planner that I've made is not watercoloured, but it does follow her layout and design.  So today's project is a Christmas Planner, inspired by Dena.  Thanks hun.

Mountain Lily

My card for The Stamp Basket today features a cute little Wee Stamps image called Mountain Lily.  I managed to mess up the main image, so I "fussy cut" her out again and layered her on top of my main image on foam pads which actually gave the card more dimension.  Considering it was a mistake, it didn't turn out too bad.

Puppy Post

The theme today at As You Like It Challenge is to tell us your favourite flowers or trees.  Anyone who knows my style would know that I adore adding flowers to my cards.  I especially love flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts because they come in so many colours and sizes.

I love to twizzle (technical word!) the green wires to create a coil, and arrange a set of 5 in decreasing size from the centre largest bloom.   I've kept the colour scheme simple on this card, so have only used cream flowers, but I have a huge boxful of different colours and sizes.

I also love the dimension they give to a card (until I have to stuff the card in an envelope to send it in the post!)

I've used my new Go Kreate Frilly Frame die to create the shaped card base, and kept the design simple too.  Hope you like it.

Silver Fairy

I've got a new image to play with today, and she's 'Silver Fairy' from Wee stamps.  This one's the rubber version, but she's also available as a digi, and I've painted her in my DI reinkers. I've given her wings some sparkle by painting over them with a watery solution of Sakura stardust gel pens and it does show some sheen in the photo if you look closely!  I had a bit of trouble with her hair (those plaits in particular), but it doesn't look half as bad as it did at one point!  Hmm, may need some more practice on this one!

I've used some vintage style papers from my new Silent Night paper pad, and added some white snowflake corner dies, some lace and some sheer spotty ribbon.

Mountain Lily

Hope you're all having a good weekend. Today's card features the adorable Mountain Lily from The Stamp Basket.  I think that this is the first time I've used this image and I really like her.

I wasn't sure if this was a Christmas image because of the bell on her wings, but I decided that she could be either depending on the colour scheme and accessories, so I've stayed away from snowflakes and festive colours.

I've used a blue and brown colour scheme (the ribbon is a rich chocolate brown, not black as it appears in the photo).  The matting card is also a kraft colour brown but it is a shimmery paper, although again this doesn't show up much in the photo.

I've sneaked in some lace under the ribbon and a bow which is held on with a pearl brad.

My typed sentiment has been cut out with a Notables die on which I've then punched a hole at one end to create a small tag.
