Heartfelt Thanks

It's just a quick post from me today with an uber CAS card which is only one single layer.

Although it looks like I've matted the main image onto brown card, it's actually just an inked border (if you look closely you might spot that it's a bit smudged on the bottom right corner - d'oh!) but it honestly is all just stamped and coloured directly onto the card base.

It's sooo unlike me to make something that's not cute, but I wanted something that was a bit more elegant and this was what I came up with.

Card Recipe:
  • Image - Stampendous Ruffled Flower
  • Sentiment - Clearly Besotted
  • Colouring - Alcohol Markers
  • Momento Stamp Pad

Ruffled Bloom

I'm in a bit of a purple phase at the moment, (it may be the gorgeous Promises papers that I'm getting through at a rate of knots - I'm lucky that I bought a 'spare' set in the recent sale!!).

I'm also going through an intermittent C&S phase.  That may be my pal, Squirrel's influence.  She usually is a bad influence over me, like encouraging me to buy new stash.  "It was her fault m'lord. I know I didn't actually need those new *stamps/dies/papers [*delete as appropriate], but she made me do it.  Honest."

But at other times her influence is a good thing.  Like today, as I'm rather pleased I didn't splatter it with embellishments.

The Ruffled Bloom stamp was a pressie last year from another crafting influence in my life, Samantha, and I love it.  I guess I'm not being really adventurous with it, but I actually like the simplicity of this design using the stamp used in this way.  It's stamped in coloured ink, with a couple stamped off the page (I really need to mind what's underneath it next time I stamp off the page though!).  It feels a bit 'arty'.  As does the table cloth now too!

So yes, it's fairly rare that my cards don't need a 'large letter' stamp in order to post out.

Unfortunately this card is intended for a pal where I won't need any stamp, as I'm visiting her for her birthday, and so I can hand-deliver it.

I really should plan these things out better.

Sugar Nellie Baggie and Stamping Linen

It's been a while since I used my Stamping Linen, so I thought I'd dig it out again, since I love it when I use it.  Also, instead of using it on a card I used it on a fabric baggie, also decorating it with some red ribbon ('saved' from a chocolate box), some vintage style lace, some flower ribbon, and a small crocheted flower, with a button centre.

I also stamped the baggie with my lovely Stampendous Ruffled Bloom stamp which was a gift from my lovely blogpal Samantha (thanks honey).  I stamped it in bright red ink to match the colour scheme of my image and accessories.

I also used stardust gel pens on the pretty fairy to give her some sparkle.  The stamping linen is frayed at the edges to show that it is fabric not card.  The frayed edges also give it some interest.

Here's a close up of the main part of the baggie:

And here's a view of the whole baggie:

Bloomin' Lovely

Woohoo, I've got a special 'just for fun' card to share with you today, and I'm a little bit over-excited.  Right back when I first saw a card on my lovely pal Samantha's blog (see her GORGEOUS card here), I knew immediately that I 'needed' that stamp and so I started hunting for it.

Well that was about a month ago, and I was waiting to see if my local craft shop stocked it when I went there on Saturday.  Unfortunately they didn't BUT when I got home, feeling a bit disheartened from my unsuccessful shopping trip, there was a little packet on my doormat, with a LOVELY card from Samantha, and a little present.  Guess what the pressie was !!!!  Yes, the stamp I'd been trying to find!!!  I was so delighted that I inked it up straight away.  Thank you honey!!!

And in tribute to Samantha's card I case'd her card too (except I added a little row of pearls at the bottom - sorry I couldn't resist.  I was all "C&S'd" out from yesterday's card!)

I hope you like my creation.  I predict that this stamp is gonna get a lot of inking.  It's perfect for a pretty and classy card, suitable for any occasion.
