January and February Progress

In January and February I managed one whole motif as well as finishing another and starting two more. I have now done all around the outside and need to move into the middle. Actually I just need to stitch a bit more on Beatrix than I did these past two months. In my defence I have been busy with pre-stitching for two classes that I have now taken, so hopefully, more time for the sampler.

This is where I was at the beginning of the year:

Here I go again!

This is where I was when I last posted in January 2010, after which I stopped due to far too many other commitments during the year. I am now hoping to finish Miss Potter by the end of 2011 and am very glad that the SAL is still going. So who else is still out there?

Congratulations to all those who have finished, I have just spent the last half hour catching up on the blog and admiring all the pictures.

December progress

Dear Friends - Happy New Year!

Very little progress, but each stitch is one nearer to finishing!

This is where I was at the end of November - (picture very bleached out and colours not at all true to life)

And this is where I got to by New Year's Eve, this picture is much more true to life:

As you can see I only managed a little bit of one motif and half of the bottom right hand corner. I have taken the decision to space the motifs more evenly across the bottom of the linen and will line up the right hand border as well.

I look forward to this SAL continuing in 2010, hopefully this time next year I will be showing off my completed Beatrix!

Late November Progress

Hope I'm not too late to be included in the November progress list!

This is where I was at the end of October:

Sadly only 1 more completed motif this month and I'm not sure that I will achieve much more during December, so I am very pleased to hear that we will continue with the stitch-a-long and the blog next year. My aim will be to finish by the end of 2010, but I am not promising!

This is where I was at the end of September:



Since then I have completed the bird motif, and stitched one large and one small motif at the bottom left.

Like Sharon, there is no way this will be finished in the next couple of months, Hazel, can we extend the SAL into 2010 and make this a 2 year project? Having to post a progress picture every month definitely encourages me to stitch even if it is only a motif or 2!

Slow September progress

This is how far I had got at the end of July:

August was a busy month with a family holiday and then the swift decline and sudden death on 30th August of my beloved Mother in Law, hence the lack of progress during September. I finished the motif at the top right and completed the bottom left motif:

Grace's July Progress

Just returned from a few days away with my sister and her family. Not much time to stitch during school holidays, but I have done a little work on Beatrix as well as continuing with the prestitching for a class in London in September.

This is where I am now. The colours are much more realistic and true to life in this photo, not sure what happened in May!!

Just to remind you, this is where I was at the end of May:

I hope to finish the top motifs and make a start down the right hand side during August.

No pics this month

I have made very little progress this month as I have been doing the pre-stitching for a class in September. So this will be one of the two months in which I won't be posting. Hope to catch up a little by the end of July.

April Progress

Hello again, not much stitching progress this month, This is where I was at the end of March:

Since then I have finished the motif with my initials, stitched a whole motif lower left and started the tiny one.

 I really will try to catch up during May.

 

Sorry about the washed out colour. March's picture is a much better likeness of the true linen and thread colour.  Will try harder to get a better picture next month.

March Progress

Hello again!  Like many I have not achieved very much this month, but I am still confident that I will keep up and be finished by the end of the year!

This is where I was at the end of Feb:

And this is what I achieved this month. I  found the star motif, bottom left, really difficult to count and had to do a fair amount of reverse stitching!  

I'm enjoying the stitching very much and hope to do at least 3 or 4  more motifs this month.

January Progress

Not much progress this month as I changed my choices from 28ct over one on the called for Zweigart linen to 36ct Lakeside Examplar linen over 2 threads, but still using Vikki Clayton's Fishpepper premium silk. I was not enjoying the over one and doubted whether I would finish, much happier now stitching over 2!  The picture is a little dark, will try to take a better photo next month!
