Do come in

DSC00099-001

I’m late again for a very important date!

It’s time for a catch up  with Abi and all her friends taking part in a chat over tea or coffee.

It’s been another busy month here, when did I ever find time to go to work.

September is always a month I look forward to as it’s my birthday month and everyone likes to be spoilt one day of the year

DSC00603

I’ve also had my mum to stay and we’ve had fun enjoying the beautiful weather by the sea.

I’ve been busy writing lessons in my journal for Shimelle’s LSNED class, I’ve now got to print out the photos and get scrapping.

I hope you have all had a good month, do tell me your news, have another drink and perhaps a slice of cake. Today I feel life is getting back to normal and I have the time to relax and enjoy your company.

Now I’m over to Abi’s blog to see what you’ve all been up to.

time for tea?

DSC00504

Hello it’s so nice to see you this month, do come in and have a cup of tea or coffee if you prefer.

How’s your month been? August has been a very busy month for us, I’ve loved seeing everyone and enjoyed the beach and trips out. Did you go anywhere nice, do tell me?

I have to say though I’m looking forward to September, the children will be back at school and most of the tourists gone so we can enjoy quiet walks by the sea and we won’t have to queue up for an ice cream!

Do you have anything planned? I’m looking forward to Shimelle’s Learn Something New Everyday class. I’ve been doing it for several years now and have completed each one. I’m following the same format as last year, divided page protectors in my year album, I like the interest that creates.

Have you seen the pile of books I’ve just received from ebay? I saw on Sian's blog that she had signed up for a free class on Laura Ingalls Wilder and I just had to join in. How I wish I hadn’t given all my books away when we moved, but with my son’s help I managed to find a set exactly the same, the new ones just weren’t good enough!

Well it looks like it’s going to be a busy September after all.

It’s been loving catching up with you and if you fancy another cuppa and chat do go over to Abi’s blog where more people are taking part.

Time for a cuppa?

DSC00112

So nice to have a quick catch up with you all so do come in. As it’s so hot let’s sit out in the garden, under the shade. How are you all, been up to much? I’ve just come back from a couple of days at my mum’s as she hasn’t been well, thankfully she’s on the mend now.

I seem to spend a lot of time in the garden reading at the moment, I’ve just joined the Lovereading review panel and was sent The Wars of the Roses Trinity by Conn Iggulden. I found it a fascinating read and can highly recommend it if you like historical fiction.

I’m still “enjoying” jogging three times a week and have lost 20lbs, it is hard work in this heat though. I’m starting to look longingly forward to the autumn now, you can tell I’m not a sunshine girl!

Did I mention I met up for the first time with my friend Nic, we have chatted for years on our team thread on UKS and we finally got together for a coffee and chat last week.

Are you having a good summer, I do hope so ? I’m going to pop in and see you all soon. I’m hoping for some inspiration to get me crafting again, I’m feeling very lazy.

So nice to meet up with you all again, same time next month? xx

care for a coffee?

SDC18074-001

It’s beautiful here at the moment and although I’m very busy it’s lovely to take some time to chat. The month seems to have flown by with trips to see my mum and helping my son move. We’ve had to meet out by a seaside cafe as my house is a bit messy at the moment, lots of boxes waiting to find a new home. I wouldn’t have it any other way though, it’s nice to be needed.

I do hope you are all ok, I’ve been reading your blogs but haven’t had much time to comment, I’m afraid. Hopefully next month will be different but until then this short chat is all I have time for.

Do go and read more posts over on Abi’s blog

a slice of cake anyone?

SDC18057

Can I tempt you? You’d be doing me a favour if you ate some as I really shouldn’t. I’ve lost 9lbs since the beginning of the year, it’s slow but going in the right direction. I pinned a recipe from Frugal queen, Lemon drizzle cake and couldn’t wait to try it. I love baking so find that’s the hardest part of a diet, thankfully my family are often visiting so give me the excuse to bake.

How are things with you? I’m looking forward to my son moving nearer with a new job, we are going to be busy helping him find somewhere to live. Now if my eldest son could only move nearer as well my happiness would be complete.

I’ve not been crafting much I’m afraid, can’t seem to raise the enthusiasm at the moment, hopefully that will change soon. I do enjoy going on your blogs and seeing all you’ve been getting up to though.

You’re sure you don’t want another slice of cake? I’ll make something different when you pop by again.

Take care now and see you soon xx

Time for tea

SDC17714

Do come in or better still let’s pop out and indulge ourselves with one of these muffins and a latte, after all it is nearly Christmas.

How have things been with you, have you started your Christmas shopping yet? I’ve got my lists drawn up and have a few little parcels hidden away in my bedroom, no peeping now!

We will have a full house here, as usual and I’m trying not to panic thinking about where everyone will go, I know it will all work out fine in the end. I’m looking out the Christmas music and my special mugs and I’m ready to embrace the season.

I know you can’t stay long, you have so much to do so thanks for sharing a few precious quiet moments with me. Take care now and don’t tire yourself out after all it will soon be January!!

Thank you Abi for starting this meme, I hope you and your family have a lovely Christmas x

time for a cuppa?

SDC16822

It’s a lovely sunny afternoon, just right for a relaxing cup of tea and a chat.

SDC16824

If you were to drop by we would probably take our drinks out into the garden to enjoy the sunshine. I would show you the parts of my garden that I’m pleased with and the parts that still need working on, you could even get some garden gloves and give me a hand!

SDC16788

I would love to tell you about my mum who reached the grand old age of 90yrs last week but would also tell you our worries as she lives over 100 miles away and is needing our help quite often. We would love to have her living near us if we could find a way.

SDC16816

Now that the weather is improving I would tell you about the beautiful walks around here, we might even decide to take a thermos on the beach.

If you enjoy reading as much as I do we could discuss the books we are reading  this month.

2013whitehuntbadge

I would also mention Rinda's photo scavenger hunt and how I’m looking forward to finding more, I’ve only managed two so far.

Oh I almost forgot, I’m so pleased my daughter has started blogging again, if you have a moment then pop over to her blog here I’m sure she would like to see you.

Now I really should say good-bye as I need to start preparing the dinner, do come and visit again.

To go and have another cup of tea or coffee do go over to Abi's blog

tea and scone

DSCF1551-001

Abi over on Creating Paper Dreams is inviting people to stop by for a chat and a cuppa here and as it’s such a lovely day I thought you would like to take a stroll down to the sea and have a pot of tea with me. If you  feel like indulging then you might also want to try a scone and jam. I would of course tell you that this is a rare treat for me as I am counting the calories in the hope of losing some weight before we go away for our anniversary.

As we chatted I would ask how things are with you and what you had planned for the year ahead. I would tell you that after a few worrying weeks I am full of plans for walks, gardening, crafting, cooking and time with the family.

As we listened to the waves gently lapping against the shore I would tell you how I have my little granddaughter coming for the weekend and I hope so much the weather will stay nice enough for us to venture on to the beach.

All too soon it will be time to go and I will tell you I must get back home and start baking, I have a chocolate cake to make.

It has been lovely spending time with you, we must do it again soon.
