Lamb Madghout

 A few weekends ago, masa tercari2 where to have lunch, Hubby suggested Restoren Qasar Hadramawt. Kalau ikut the princesses memang McD & KFC je dalam list diorang. I pulak dah muak dengan fastfood ni. Kebetulan pulak kitaorang nak ke Jusco which was near this restaurant.
 Restoren ni kat Bandar Perda. Masa tengok menu, memang Hubby & I tengok menu Lamb. Rasa macam nak makan nasi. So, ada a few choices. Lamb Mendy, Lamb Khabsa & Lamb Madghout. Lamb Mendy dah biasa makan kat Restoren Arabian Mendy, Sg Petani. Lamb Khabsa nampak tak menarik coz rebus je. So, we decided on Lamb Madghout.
 When lunch was served, memula I ingat macam tak habis je coz servings 1/2 kg tu macam banyak je. Tengok2 Alysa tambah 3x. Adik pun bertambah. Bay finished off her portion. Even Airis meratah lamb. The lamb was so soft. Nasi pulak guna beras basmathi panjang tu. It was served by a lady yang berpurdah. Rasa macam kat Arab lak..
 For my taste, lamb madghout ni lagi sedap dari lamb mendy. The price here is so reasonable. Memang recommended...They also serve variety of menu eg kebab.

Adik's First Day @ School

Adik is in Standard 1 this year. She had an orientation day on the 28th Dec. She did well on her first day. Hubby was with her until after the assembly. Then I went during recess. Jenuh nak cari dia. Tengok2 dia tengah makan dengan her classmate. Alysa join her later.

 Adik's birthday celebration was an impromptu affair. We decided to do it that night coz our family would come over that night. So, I had around 3 hours to prepare the food including the cake.. We celebrated a day early. Thank you for those who came over to her birthday celebration. We have mak & ayah, Ila & family, Abang Ari & family, K.Liza & family, Ismadi & family.

Well Done, Adik!

 This was  the second time I attended the princesses' convocation. It was Adik's turn this year. 251 students graduated  this year. Adik got a few awards i.e ' Intensif Bahasa Malaysia ', ' Iqraq Tertinggi' & ' Bintang Tertinggi'. She got 3 out of 4 awards given to 6 y.o. I'm proud of you Adik. Terbaikk..:-) You are among the top 10 out of 251 students..

 Hubby sent her off to Politeknik Seberang Prai where the ceremony was held at 10a.m. The convocation started at 2pm. Since dia masuk acara dikir barat, she had to be there early. We went there just in time before it started. Seronok tengok kanak2 from 3-6 y.o performed. They've trained hard for the past few weeks. My heart swelled with pride seeing her on stage performing & receiving awards. I think I would feel the same way for each and every one of my princesses. I'm proud of their achievements ( well, every parents do ) and feel blessed with great kids.

 After performances from the students, the 6 y.o finally received their scrolls to mark the end of their kindy year. The ceremony finished by 6.30pm. Kelam- kabut kitaorang pegi solat. Dah le jalan jammed dengan kereta parents. Lepas solat Asar, tanya Adik what she had for lunch? Tengok2 dia tak makan.. I don't know camna dia boleh miss lunch while other kids had nasi daging. May be sebab dia banyak rehearsals kut. Kesian anak mama. Memang kebulur la coz dia cuma makan roti canai for breakfast. Tupun sikit je. Terus bawak dia ke McD next to PSP. Tu pun dah 7pm!

 By the time we got home, it was already 8.30pm. What a long day.. The next day dah le dia ada exam Math. Ni lagi satu I tak faham. Why did they have convocation before the final year exam? Dah tanya teachers, diorang cakap tak tau..hmm..Hence, this year tak de award ' Akademik Tertinggi' macam Alysa last year.

 Last Sunday on 4th Dec, Alysa & Ayra's kindy held their convo. Alysa had been practising for her performance for over a month. She still had to attend her practices even after school holidays started. She had to go to school as early as 7.30am and got back after 4pm when they had to practise at other branch. By the time she got back home she was really flat. Sometimes slept at 6pm until the next day. But she was an early riser. She'd woke up at 5am! Watching cartoons by herself... and got ready to go to school by 7 am.

On the convo day, Hubby had to send Alysa to Politeknik Permatang Pauh as early as 10am. The convo actually started at 2pm. I was worried Hubby would fall asleep while driving coz he only had 1 hour sleep the nite before as he had a day trip to KL the previous day. But, he managed to send Alysa safely.

 The convo started at 2 pm and we arrived just in time. But, we had to sit at the back as many parents were there earlier. The graduating kids were from 5 branches. There were over 300 kids to be awarded that day. Alysa got 2 awards i.e her graduation & best in academic for 6 y.o. Ayra got 2 too..best in academic & iqrak tertinggi for 5 y.o. I was so proud of them as they were among the best out of nearly 300 students ( to be exact ; 262 six y.o and 295 five y.o ). Rasa macam sebak lak..hehe.. Anak baru graduated from kindy, mama emo la pulak!!haha..

 Alysa was involved in a performance too. They performed " Hambamu " . She looked confident & dah macam anak dara lepas kena solek by the teachers.. All in all, it was a day to remember . However, I wished I had a DSLR & photography skills to capture their best moments.Hmm..Lagipun tak menang tangan I sorang yg ambik gambar coz Hubby pening2 lalat tak cukup tido. So, he was stuck at his chair..:-( . Oh..Their tok & Baby were there too to share the big moments..

Adik's 5th Birthday

Hujung tahun ni berderet lak our birthdays. This month we celebrated Adik's birthday. The day before she turned 5, she had high fever. She was shivering & had to be given medications every 4-6 hours. We promised her, if she got better on her birthday, we would take her out for lunch.

 Alhamdulillah, She was better on her birthday. But, still lacking in appetite & energy. Her eyes looked sunken. Tapi...masih ada energy nak bersolek before keluar..;-). We took them out to Jusco. We let her choose where she wanted to have her lunch. Kalau Alysa & Baby, confirm pilih McD. Tp, Adik ni kan tak makan anything related with roti, so, she had few choices. Finally, she picked The Chicken Rice Shop..:-). Sempoi betul! But, Hubby bought something from KFC for Baby. Lepas lunch, we bought a birthday gift for her.

   Adik was lucky this year. She got to celebrate her 5th birthday a few times. First kat kampung together with Baby & Afif. Then on 13th nov which was her birthday. Tapi tak de cake that day coz mama was not in a cooking mode. 3 days of hearing her request of a birthday cake, I made her 'American Choc Cake' as requested. Then today, on her final day before school holidays, they had a birthday party at her kindy. I made her another choc cake. She said there were 5 cakes today for all the birthday girls & boys.

Potong

 Last week was minggu potong for Alysa & Ayra..:-). When we got back from HCM, we were surprised with their hair. Tok dah potong rambut diaorang... Hubby was speechless. Yelah, bila I trim rambut diorang pun dia tak suka, inikan pulak kena potong pendek.

 Alysa terus lost her curls. Pegi kindy pun pakai tudung sampai balik rumah pun tak bukak2 tudung tu ( According tu K.Jun la ). When I got back, the first thing in my list was to buy them hair accessories. Nak beli cekak yang ada rambut tu, hubby kata nanti tok dia tengok sedih lak. So, beli je la cekak yang ada ribbons. Baru le nampak girlish sikit diaorang. Kalau tak, dah macam tomboy.

Then, on tuesday 25th Oct, kitaorang bawak Alysa & Ayra jumpa Dr Barizah utk berkhitan. Actually, dulu bukan tak nak sunat. Tp we got different views.. ada yang cakap wajib & ada yang cakap sunat. We were also looking for hadis sahih tapi tak jumpa. Recently, after bertanya a  few ustaz & hubby search & jumpa fatwa kebangsaan pun kata wajib berkhitan bagi kanak2 perempuan, dia dah tak senang duduk. So, Alhamdulillah dah selamat 2 orang. Another 2 to go..:-)

Masa berkhitan tu, Alysa melalak samapai keluar. But, Adik cool je. Berkerut sikit je muka. Siap boasted lg lepas tu kata dia tak gheyiau pun.. I tak inform pun diorang before berkhitan tu. Masa bawak masuk Alysa ke tx room, Hubby bawak Adik minum2 kat restoran sebelah. Masa dah jumpa Dr baru bgtau, Dr nak check sebab nak masuk sekolah. So, kena cucuk sikit.  Adik pulak I bagitau nak tindik sekali ( since dia beriya2 nak bertindik since dulu). Tp unfortunately, Dr Barizah tak wat bertindik. But, she was ok & cooperative during the procedures.

Nyaris Botak

 When it comes to hair, I memang pening dengan Adik. Once in a while, she'd come to me with " Adik tak mau rambut spring". This morning, she came to me with the same phrase but with additional " Adik nak potong rambut! Adik nak rambut macam kakak". Kena le pujuk dia yang rambut dia cantik & special. Orang siap kena pegi hairdresser nak dapat rambut macam tu. Mama's friends pun puji rambut dia cantik..bla..bla..

Ingatkan dah settled problem tu for the time being. Masa I balik from kenduri & shopping for her presesnts, K.Jun bagitau Adik potong rambut depan dia sendiri. Dah tinggal 1 cm & ada le setompok yang pendek. Nasib K.Jun sempat nampak. Kalau tak, botak le budak tu..:-) Patut le masa bulan puasa hari tu K.Jun ada tanya rambut sape yang dia jumpa. Ada le secekak curly hair. Rasanya Adik cut her hair too tapi kitaorang tak sedar. Dah rambut dia curly, so, tak perasan le panjang/ pendek rambut dia. Kalau potong tak sama panjang pun tak perasan. Another thing, she likes to play with scissors eventhough dah kena larang. Tadi dia potong rambut dia pakai gunting ikan kat dapur!

Pandai pulak dia cover rambut dia yg pendek kat depan tu. Petang td lepas mandi I tgk2 dia dah dress- up macam ni sendiri. Mmg creative..:-) Bab melawa memang A.

She's No 1

 On monday, Alysa & Adik came back with report cards. Adik got No 1 in her class. A vast improvement from the time when she first started schooling. Masa 1st term exam dulu dia dapat no 7. Tapi position in all the branches of the kindy, berpuluh2 le jugak. This time she got no 4 out of 303 five- year old students. And..she's not even 5 years old yet..:-). Balik je kindy, after telling us that " Adik dapat No 1..Adik pandai! ", terus dia call tok dia. Tapi dapat cakap dengan Tok Ayah je coz tok dia solat. But, tok cakap nak bagi dia hadiah. Baru le I terfikir nak bagi dia hadiah to reward her...Hehe.. Anak tak pegi sekolah betul2 lagi, so mama dia macam take it for granted je anak dapat result ok..:D

 Meanwhile, bila I cakap nak bagi hadiah kat Adik, Alysa who got no 4 in her class pun nak gak hadiah. I cakap no 1 - 3 je dapat hadiah. But she reasoned that she got 100% for 3 out of 4 subjects, so she was entitled for hadiah. Actually, her average pun ok.. 99.25%. Pengajian Islam je dia dapat 97%. She got no 1 for the 3 subjects. ( I think budak yang dapat no 1 tu semua dapat 100% kut.. ). So, this time I bagi je lah hadiah kat dia. Alysa ni jenis yang competitive sikit. I'm sure next time she'd do better. Lagipun hadiah yang diaorang mintak sempoi sesangat. Mmg boleh bagi..hehe..sorang mintak stationery set gambar Barbie ( Alysa ). Sorang lagi mintak chocolate & hair accessories with Barbie pictures ( Adik le tu ).

Home Renovation - Sessi Membebel

 Dapur kitaorang dah nak siap minus wiring, kitchen cabinet & grill. Yesterday dah pasang fly net ( boleh le dapat udara segar & sejuk waktu mlm without the mossies ) & wiring pun dah half-way. Orang nak buat kitchen cabinet pun dah datang ukur.

 Meanwhile, I dah boleh masak yang simple je. But it was worth it coz the princesses had been praising my cooking..:-). Jemu dah le tu makan lauk beli for nearly a month. Even Adik yang tak de appetite for the past few weeks pun makan bertambah. Hopefully boleh le dia gain weight. I tengok dah makin keding dah dia. The past month since kitaorang kena makan luar, Hubby dah lost weight by a few kilos. Lps ni gain weight la pulak.. Not that I masak sedap giler, Tp it's different between homecook food & beli kedai. Kadang2 tu goreng telur & sardin pun dah makan bertambah kalau kat rumah.

 Back to our home renovation, I perhatikan there was a vast difference between malay and chinese contractors. Bukan nak mengutuk ke apa. Tp bila kita yang keluarkan duit, of course le we want the best. With our house, the main building was done by malay contractors. Asyik kena ikut belakang je kerja. Nak kena remind everyday apa yang kita nak. Tu pun kdg2 termiss gak. Janji sebulan siap tp terlajak sampai 2 bulan. Tu pun tak siap semua coz we all dah malas nak suruh diaorang buat. Lambat sangat. The living room wing & kitchen patutnya selari. Tp diaorang ni ukur ke tak pun ntah le. Lari by a few inches. Hubby tgk mmg le sakit mata. Tp takkan le nak suruh roboh lak bcos of a few inches.

 Tiles, awning , rovers & grills kitaorang suruh chinese contractors. Workmanship mmg cantik & no problem. Bagitau sekali je, diorang dah tau. Hubby & I were impressed with the contractors who laid tiles. Very details. Utk lubang pun dia akan tebuk tile tu rather than potong. Kat sinki tu pulak dia bubuh tiles ikut lekuk sinki tu cantik je..Kerja pun tak messy. Lepas pasang tiles, they made sure the tiles were cleaned immediately. So, bila siap tak de kitaorang jenuh nak tenyeh stain kat tiles tu.

 Wiring pulak suruh malay contractors. Masuk rumah orang pakai kasut. Padahal rumah dah bersih dgn tiles dah. Comparing dgn contractors yang pasang tiles tu, diorang masuk rumah bukak kasut. So, nampak le malasnya malay contractors ni. Bila suruh tebuk dinding buat wiring, tak ikut. Pasang wire ikut luar. Kes malas. Padahal diorang boleh charge lebih. Lepas tu main panjat je kitchen cabinet tak beralas. Yang atas stove tu nasib I dah alas before I pegi kerja. Lps diorang habis kerja late evening ( yes, kerja mmg slow eventhough 4 org yg wat kerja ), rumah bersepah dgn serpihan simen & potongan wires. Kalau chinese contractors, they all siap sapu. Kita cuma mop je. Ni wiring belum habis lagi. Hari ni dah 2 hari tak datang pulak. Kalau chine contractors, they started work as early as 8am. Paling lambat pun 8.30am. Malay contractors, ikut suka time diorang le nak kerja. Workmanship halai-balai je..

 Tapi...tak semua malay contractors macam tu. Cuma a few yang my neighbours & I had the misfortune to hire. Nak cari yang tip top tu mmg susah.
