A Fond Farewell...
Hello everyone! This week in The Shabby Tea Room marks the end of my six-month term as a Shabby Girl...*sniff* I have had so much fun creating alongside these wonderful, creative ladies. Debbie has been so incredibly gracious and supportive during the past six months and for that I want to say a heartfelt "Thank you." I still feel very honored that she chose me to be part of her "baby"...
With all that out of the way, let's get to this week's Shabby Tea Room challenge - Audrey has given us this lovely photo as an inspiration to create a project featuring nature and/or the color green:
This week's sponsor in the Tea Room is Tiffany Doodles - they have a fabulous selection of digital images and this week's winner will receive six images, four images will go to the 2nd runner up and the 3rd runner up will get to choose 2 images! How generous is that?
This week's colors over at the Picture Perfect Creations Color Challenge work perfectly together with TSTR challenge:
I used Taylor's newest sketch:
Recipe: Stamps - Poppy With Oval (Tiffany Doodles Digi), From The Garden (Flourishes) Ink: Early Espresso Paper: Early Espresso, Bashful Blue, SU! DSP, Whisper White Accessories: Elegant Lines embossing folder, Nestabilities, Copics, oval punch, Bashful Blue satin ribbon, hemp twine, sponge dauber

Bugaboo Stamps in The Shabby Tea Room!
Welcome back everyone!
I'm so excited this week because Bugaboo Stamps is our sponsor in The Shabby Tea Room! I LOVE the images Jodi has designed - they are ALL super-cute and appeal to a wide range of stampers and this week's winner will receive seven digi images of their choice! How exciting is that?
This week's theme in the Tea Room is, "Tag! You're It!" - create a card or project with a tag. Easy peasy, right? :) When I picked my image from Bugaboo I had this week's Picture Perfect Creations Color Challenge in mind:
Don't you just love the new Stampin' Up colors? These ones are so fun and summery. I'm trying to hold onto the summer as long as I can - the air is starting to feel awfully "crisp" in the morning. Mercy's Tuesday Sketch was the perfect inspiration for this week's card - I made a few minor alterations....
Recipe - Stamp: Flower Bear ~Sunflower (Bugaboo digi images), Tiny Tags (SU!) Ink: Onyx Black Versafine, Marina Mist, Peach Parfait Paper: Peach Parfait, Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, SU! DSP Accessories: Paper piercer, Copics, jewelry tag punch, brad, MS Optic Dot border punch, Argyle embossing folder, Seeing Spots embossing folder

"Old Meets New" in The Shabby Tea Room
Welcome to the last few days of August - where did the summer go? Before we know it, Thanksgiving will be here, then Halloween, and then ... CHRISTMAS! ACK! Are you one of those people that have started shopping already? I haven't even THOUGHT about it yet... (and I'm not gonna either) :)
This week's challenge in The Shabby Tea Room is "Old Meets New" ~ use something old and something new. Easy, right? Our sponsor this week is none other than our fearless leader, Debbie, with her Shabby Vintage Seam Binding and one lucky participant will win 12 yards of this lovely embellishment.
Okie dokie - so for my "old" I used some Basic Grey paper that hasn't seen enough lovin' and my "new" is the wonderful buttons die I got from the Cat's Pajamas a few weeks ago. I also used my NEW cork sheets for the buttons... yummy.
I used this week's sketch from the Our Creative Corner Sketch Challenge:
Recipe - Stamps: Flower Girl (Pure Innocence, MFT), Vintage Labels (SU!) Paper: Various textured cardstock, Daffodil Delight, Basic Grey Origins paper, Whisper White Accessories: Paper piercer, Copics, cork sheets, Buttons die, buttons, hemp twine, vintage seam binding

A Bit of Metal in The Shabby Tea Room
Welcome back for another fun challenge in The Shabby Tea Room! A few weeks ago, I found this cool glass bead bracelet in an Etsy shop called Essex Glass and immediately thought it would be PERFECT for an inspiration challenge in TSTR:
So this week's challenge is this: Using this picture as your inspiration, create a project with metal somewhere on it. Now, it could be a brad or eyelet, it could be metallic paper, metallic embossing powder, metal cord...the possibilities are endless. And feel free to get creative with your metal - a pop can tab would fit the bill. :)
This week's sponsor in the Tea Room is Some Odd Girl and do they ever have some cute digi stamps! And for all you STR peeps, they have a discount on your purchase this week - what could be better than that?
I found this new-to-me challenge a few weeks ago but haven't been able to play along - until now. The Bling Sketch Challenge over at Annabelle Stamps Blog is a sketch with a {twist}... use the sketch AND some bling! HELLO?? Right up my alley! I liked the simplicity of this sketch and it fit my "Fairy Mae" image perfectly:
Recipe - Stamps: Fairy Mae (Some Odd Girl), Beautiful Kindness (Verve) Ink: Early Espresso Paper: Blushing Bride, Poppy Parade, Whisper White Accessories: Paper piercer, rhinestone brads, striped grosgrain ribbon, Copics, silver metallic cord, button, Spica atyou Glitter pens
I colored her with my Copics and used my glitter pens for her wings...they are so sparkly:

Friends Are Like Flowers in the Garden of Life
Hey everyone!
Welcome back for another Picture Perfect Creations Color Combination and a new challenge from The Shabby Tea Room. This week's colors from Megan include my {oh-so-favorite} Pacific Point. *insert eye roll here* I'm trying to love it, really I am...
Our challenge at TSTR is to use roses somewhere in our project and our sponsor this week is Squigglefly. They have some fab digital images and the sentiment I used on my card is one from their collection.
I love the simplicity of this week's sketch at There She Goes stamps:
I FINALLY got to use the Pretty Pin Embellishment that I received a bit too late to use the week they were our sponsor at PPC. It is sooooo pretty and matches the Poppy color perfectly.
Make sure you stop by and see what the rest of the Shabby Girls created for this week's challenge...

Chocolate and Coffee - A Match Made in Heaven for TSTR
Hello everyone!
Are you ready for another inspiring week in The Shabby Tea Room? This week's theme is "Reflections" and we are to use the colors and/or theme from this photo:
Our sponsor this week in the Tea Room is Isabella's Sketchbook and this week's winner will receive a gift certificate to go shopping for some fabulous, new digi images! I used the awesome "Chocolate and Coffee" stamp for my card this week.
I've been so incredibly busy the last little while that my crafting time has been close to non-existent. I needed a quick and easy sketch to get me going and I found this one over at the CCEE Stampers Challenge Blog that fit the bill:
I went with the colors in the photo - Basic Black, Very Vanilla, and Basic Grey - rotated the sketch 90* and voila!

The Shabby Tea Room - Week #21!
I can hardly believe that we are already up to week #21 in The Shabby Tea Room! It has gone by so quickly and I can hardly believe my six months as a Shabby Girl are almost finished. This week's challenge is brought to us by our fearless leader, Debbie, who found this {lovely}, shabby birdhouse photo. She would like us to use the picture as the inspiration for a card or project created with soft blue, cream and brown for the color scheme:
This week's sponsor in the Tea Room is JetPens and I had so much fun using the Copic Spica atyou Micro Glass Glitter pens on my project. I used the clear pen as well as Buttermilk and Garnet (which looks like chocolate on my card!) This week's winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to go shopping on the JetPens website - so much fun!
I have been *attempting* to make some CAS cards lately and this week's sketch over at the Sweet Stampin' Challenge is fairly simple so I thought I'd use it for this week's card. I also had VERY little time to put this one together - we've been so busy around the yard and trying to repurpose an old shed into a chicken coop that my crafting time has been EXTREMELY limited.
Stamps: {I Heart} Little Paper Shop Ink: Chocolate Chip Paper: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, SU! DSP Accessories: Paper piercer, Copic atyou glitter pens, Copic markers, Chocolate Chip satin ribbon, button, hemp twine, dimensionals |

As Easy As 1-2-3 in The Shabby Tea Room!
Welcome back for another fabulous challenge in The Shabby Tea Room! This week's challenge comes to us from Nicole and she has given us a recipe challenge: 1 ribbon, 2 buttons, and 3 punches. Don't be afraid - it may sound difficult but it really isn't. :) Promise.
This week's sponsor in the Tea Room is one of my favorites, JustRite Stampers. They have got some AMAZING stamps and I am totally lovin' their new clear stampers and the new Christmas sets are super-cute. This week's winner will win a prize package filled with lots of JustRite goodies.
I decided to use JustRite's Groovy Snowman set and knew that this week's Color Throwdown combination would work PERFECTLY with a wintery-themed card. I still don't have any Marina Mist so I had to find another color from my stash that would work:
Our fearless leader, Debbie, just became one of the Truly Scrumptious DT so when I saw that their sketch had the PERFECT shapes and layout for the STR challenge, I HAD to use it (but I *did* make it into a square because my image is so large...):
Here's how I incorporated the recipe:
- 1 Ribbon - I used ribbon in more than one place but it is the same ribbon so I hope that counts... :)
- 2 Buttons - Bottom right corner... :)
- 3 Punches - This is the part I kind of *fudged* a bit... I used three different sizes of circle Nestabilities around my image.
Make sure you stop by and see what the rest of the Shabby Girls created for the "1-2-3" challenge...

From the Garden with TSTR and PPC
Welcome back for another fabulous week at The Shabby Tea Room and Picture Perfect Creations. Awhile ago, I found this AMAZING wreath at Blooming Couture and HAD to use it as the inspiration photo for this week's TSTR challenge: "From the Garden." Use the colors, flowers, the shapes... whatever inspires you.
This week's sponsor in the Tea Room is Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Stamps and you will LOVE their selection of amazing digi stamps as well as some clear stamps.
I will admit that the Cajun Craze threw me off a bit but, in the end, it was the Regal Rose that I had trouble with and used it very sparingly on the bows and as a button flower:
Recipe - Stamp: Precious Baby (Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps) Paper: Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Rich Razzleberry, Cajun Craze, SU! DSP Accessories: Copics, paper piercer, RR polka dot grosgrain ribbon, buttons, Swiss Dots EF
