{CQC240} & {RS113} . . . Another Birthday Card :)

Hi everyone! Happy May!!! It sure didn't seem like May on the weekend here in central Alberta - Mother Nature thought she'd give us another taste of winter... woke up to snow on Saturday morning and, let me tell you, I was not a happy camper. ;)  Thankfully, it has mostly all melted but that means more mud...ugh.

Enough of my moaning and groaning, you came to see a new Colour Q combo, didn't you?  This week's inspiration is a lovely, little teacup...perfect for afternoon tea parties:

I used this week's Retrosketches for my quick and CAS card that uses images from one of my favorite Verve sets, Hope Blooms:

Yes, I know it's ANOTHER birthday card... you're going to be seeing a lot of those in the coming weeks!  ;)  Anyhow, that's just about it for me - I will see you next week!

{Happy Birthday} CQC238 & RS111

Welcome back! I hope you all enjoyed your Easter weekend.  Ours was spent quietly at home - the boys watching TV while I took some time to finish up a quilt top that has been lingering for far too long.  We all had yesterday off too so I spent a little while in my craft room making a card for this week's Colour Q challenge...take a peek:

As usual, I surfed around my tried-and-true challenges for a sketch that I could use and found this fun one with a wonky panel over at Retrosketches:

Certainly nothing fancy about this card - I never seem to have enough birthday cards (and my MIL loves to come and take some off my hands from time to time) so that's why I chose to use this fabulous sentiment from Verve again.  :)

*fingers crossed*  It seems that spring has FINALLY sprung around here which can only mean one thing...yard work - and lots of it!  You forget how much *stuff* gets buried under that mountain of snow each winter.  :)

Okie dokie - have a fantastic week!

{Life is Good} ... CQC237 & RS110

Hello and thank you for stopping by this week! Sorry I wasn't around last week - time just got away from me and the card I should have made didn't happen.  I have had a LOT on my plate lately and I foresee some changes coming in the future - good changes.  :)  In the meantime, I've got a brand new Colour Q to share with you all.  Take a peek:

As usual, I left it to the last minute and had to find a CAS, quick sketch to get it done and this week"s Retrosketches worked perfectly:

This sketch was great for using up some of those scraps in the scrap box and took less than 20 minutes to get 'er done.  :)

Thanks again for stopping by - enjoy your week.  Hopefully you will all be able to enjoy family and friends this Easter weekend... I'm sure looking forward to relaxing and taking some time to count my blessings.

See you next week!

{That's How I Roll}... CQC235 & RS108

Hello again!  It seems like just yesterday I was musing about it being March already and here we are into APRIL!  I swear - the older I get, the faster time goes.  It hardly seems fair... :)

This week Arielle's got another palette of fun colors over at the Colour Q - a couple of them are the same as last week so you may even have them out on your desk right now...take a peek:

 For my card, I used this week's Retrosketches...perfect for a quick, CAS card:

I hope that spring is in full swing wherever you are - Mother Nature hasn't been so nice to us over the last week.  The snow just keeps coming but the forecast  says it's supposed to warm up by the weekend...I'll believe it when I see it!    Thanks for stopping by - see you next week!

{Shine Brightly}... CQC234 & RS107

Welcome to Spring Break, everyone!  The boys have all of this week off - in fact, two of them are enjoying a couple days of skiing with their grandparents right now.  I've taken a couple days off work to hang out with the one kid left at home...and you know what that means, right?  Uninterrupted crafty time!  I spent yesterday morning finishing up a table runner for the dining room buffet that coordinates with the table topper I made a few months ago...

But you didn't come to see *that* kind of crafting, did you?  Tuesday means it's time for a brand new Colour Q combo and Arielle has picked out a soft, spring color palette this week:

I realized that I didn't have any Apricot ink but I did manage to find a scrap of cardstock in my *leftovers* bin...thank goodness!  I used this week's Retrosketches to create this quick card:

The stamps are from Verve - yes, I love my Verve.  :)  The star die is from The Cat's Pajamas.

That'll be it for me today - the weather hasn't been horrible here but it is supposed to start warming up so I am really looking forward to that.  Enjoy your week and I'll see you next week!

You're Sew Nice...{JUGS229} & {RS102}

Hello everyone! Sorry I wasn't around to post for Tuesday's Colour Q - the kids and I decided to head off to my parents' place for the long weekend and I wasn't able to get a card done before I left.  I will admit it was kind of nice to have a week *off*, but now back to the grind.  :)

Today is my final day as the guest designer over at the Just Us Girls challenge...so sad!  I have thoroughly enjoyed playing along with the girls this month - they have been so sweet and supportive.  Thank you so much ladies!!!  This week's challenge is an inspiration challenge so take a peek at the photo inspiration:

For my card I used the colors as well as the sewing spools for inspiration.  I got to play with a new cutting plate I got awhile ago from Taylored Expressions - holy chevrons, Batman!!!  It's awesome!  I used last week's Retrosketches and came up with this *sorta* CAS card:

Thank you so much for visiting today - I love all the love.  :)  Enjoy the rest of your weekend and the upcoming last week of February!!  OY VEY!  How did that happen?  I'll see you back here on Tuesday with a brand-new Colour Q.  Later!

{HELLO} JUGS228 & RS101

Hi all! How are you doing this Valentine's Day weekend? The boys and I have gone on a road trip to visit my mom and dad - it's been quite awhile since we've been down there so it will be nice to relax and visit.

Today marks the third week of my stint over at the Just Us Girls Challenge blog and this week is my FAVORITE kind of challenge - a COLOR challenge.  And, to make it even better, you get to PICK which three colors you want to use!  Take a peek:

So I decided to use yellow, purple and lime green for my card - I combined it with last week's Retrosketches for this fun, CAS card to just say {hello}:

Those little sequins are so much fun to use - they give a project just that tiny bit of *sparkle*.

Thanks for stopping by today - enjoy your weekend!

I Love You ... {CQC227} & {RS100} and Another Krafty Guest Submission

Hey everyone! Thanks for stopping in today - I have a sweet little card to share with you today for a couple of challenges.  The first one, since it IS Tuesday, is for the brand new Colour Q challenge.  Arielle has chosen some more colors that, together, work perfectly for those Valentine's Day cards you might be making.  Take a peek:

The second challenge is for Retrosketches 100TH sketch!  Holy smokes!  That's almost two years of awesome and amazing sketches from Arielle and the girls.  Thanks to all of you for some fantastic inspiration!  Here's #100:

And, since I've got one more day to submit cards for the Krafty Guest Contest over at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, I figured I might as well make one more.  This card uses one of the images from the Josephine stamp set - but, again, I can't find it in the KK store.  :(  All of my faves seem to be retired?  At any rate, it worked perfectly for these colors and sketch:

Thank you for stopping by today - I hope you enjoy your day wherever you are!  See you on Saturday for my second week as Guest Designer for Just Us Girls!

Happy Birthday {CQC224} & {RS97}

Hey all! It's Tuesday and time for a brand new Colour Q combination.  This week's inspiration photo is a cute, retro'ish top from ModCloth:

I used this week's Retrosketches to make a quick birthday card using some of my favorite Verve goodies:

I hope everyone has a great week - I am off to Disneyland on Thursday to ride some rides and run some races and enjoy a few days away.  I will share some pics when I get back but if I can find some wifi,  I might be able to post a few to Facebook.

Later, crafty peeps!

Did Someone Say Krafty Guest...? {Colour Q #223 & RS #96}

Hello everyone!!! WOW...it has been a week since I posted last and, I must say, I am quite enjoying only *having* to make a card once a week!  If course, I will likely make more than that some weeks but this week was super-busy and I just didn't have time to sit down and craft.  It will likely be much of the same this week and next as I prepare to go to Disneyland with a friend to run the Tinkerbell Half Marathon, the 10K and a 5K all in the same weekend.  Yep, we're certifiable!!!  We actually will probably be walking most of it since she tore her MCL back in August and it still hasn't healed enough to run but we're going to get those medals, darn-it-all!!!

In the meantime, I've got a fun card to share with you today...with a COLORED image!!!  It has been EONS since I colored an image and this never-before-inked Kraftin' Kimmie image was the perfect one to get me back in the groove.  The colors are from the new Colour Q combo...Little Red Riding Hood, anyone?

The sketch is this week's RetroSketches:

 I even decorated the inside, something I don't normally do but wanted to add a bit more to make the "Oops!" on the front make sense:

Now, since this is a new year, we should all try to do things that make us a bit uncomfortable so here it goes...I am also going to submit this card for the Kraftin' Kimmie Krafty Guest Contest!!!  Why does this make me uncomfortable, you ask?  Quite honestly, the Krafty Girls are soooooo UBER talented - how could that not make ANYONE uncomfortable?  I would LOVE to be a Krafty Guest for a month!  The challenge is to make a card using a KK image and some sparkle - I didn't use very much sparkle but the sequins on the buttons and then on the inside do the trick, don't you think?

Okie dokie, ladies and gents...that's it for me!  I will be back next week for one more card before I'm off to California!  See you then!
