I love patterns and the illustrators who create them!
Came across Gail Myerscough on Twitter.
She's a talented UK surface pattern designer,
who has a modern, mid-century flair!

Creations in Nature: Spectacular Land Art Designed from Stones, Leaves & Shells

Oh, how these meticulously arranged collections of stones, shells and leaves
show off the beauty of nature and the creativity of artist Dietmar Voorwold!

There's nothing random or happenstance here;
everything is perfectly chosen to be perfectly symmetrical, perfectly balanced,
perfectly colored, shaped or sized - all to create stunning works of art!

I find a sense of calm in the orderly patterns combined with natural elements.
Very zen. Mesmerizing, aren't they?
Enjoy the beauty of these Creations in Nature!

This last one with the stacked stone ovals is my favorite!
Which one is yours?

Retro Inspiration from Artist Aimee Bee Brooks

NYC artist Aimee Bee Brooks has a real handle on retro style!
Her illustrations and patterns are fresh and fun - sketched in an airy way to leave us
feeling light and lifted, daydreaming of those carefree days in decades past.
Cat-eye glasses, chiffon scarves and calling our girlfriends on Princess telephones.
A. b. B., you've got true talent!

How about more of Aimee Bee Brooks?

Amy Reber's Fresh, Bold Patterns

Textile and surface designer Amy Reber has amazing talent.
Her creativity bursts forth in bold patterns!
Her strong, rich color combinations are fun and exciting!

It's inspiring to know that Amy's a military spouse,
she's a stay-at-home mom with 3 children,
plus she's taught herself this great art form
and has created a successful business.

Amy's designs have retro flair, but at the same time are fresh and modern!
I'm crazy about every one!

Bees? ... Please!

I've long been attracted to bees. (Just hoping they're not too attracted to me.)
The magnificent architecture of the honeycomb and hive.
The hierarchy of their lives from the royal queen down to those ever-busy workers.
Not to mention the delicious honey, which I adore in my tea!

Here's a great quote:
Draw honey out of the comb of Scripture and live on its sweetness.
~Charles Spurgeon

I had a wonderful opportunity to visit a beekeeper & see his honey bees.
You can see my photos and read the post: My Honeybee Adventure!

I also like bee art: patterns, prints and the bee motif on anything and everything.
I have a board on Pinterest called "Bumblebees, Honeybees" that you can check out.

Enjoy this gathering of bees!
