A Patriotic 4th of July in Charming Lititz, PA

This July 4th, we were invited by our good friends Lisa & Wes
to join them for their festive luncheon at the popular JoBoy's Brew Pub.
While in town, we strolled around and took in the sights.
This town oozes charm! If quaint shops and eateries are
your idea of a delightful day, then Lititz is a must-see.
Enjoy my snapshots and then plan a visit there for yourself!

How about a tour of the Julius Sturgis Pretzel Bakery?

Hope to stay at the Alden House B & B some weekend!

The grand fireworks and festivities at Lititz Springs Park
attract lots of attention every year!

Girlfriends are treasures!

Head over to my Series page for links to several more
posts about Lititz, and Lancaster as well!

Lunch at JoBoy’s Brew Pub - Lititz, PA

JoBoy's1

I met a dear friend for lunch in Lititz, PA.
We chose JoBoy's Brew Pub,
known for their excellent barbecue and handcrafted beer.

While driving to Lititz that day, I had stopped to confirm directions a half hour away.
When I'd mentioned to the young man that I was heading to JoBoy's
and asked if he knew of it, he nodded enthusiastically, saying,
"I love that place!" I asked him what his favorite dish was, and he answered,
"The barbecue - you name the meat and it's delicious!"
Such a super recommendation, right?
Sure enough, JoBoy's offers pulled pork, chicken or brisket barbecue,
or a sampling of each on slider buns.

It was a treat to meet the husband & wife owners, Jeff & Jo Harless,
super friendly and happy to share a bit of their story with me.
Getting their start in barbecue competitions, they honed their recipes
for sauces and rubs until they knew they had a good thing going!
With Jeff's North Carolina roots, he was able to bring a southern flair.
They competed under the name JoBoy, a combination of their middle names:
Maria Jo and Jeffrey Boy, and so they carried that over as the title of their eatery.

The second floor of their establishment is an events hall
that can be rented for meetings, receptions or dinners.

I chose a southern specialty - shrimp & grits.
It was oh-my-goodness cheesy delicious!

Visiting the Wilbur Chocolate Company in Lititz, PA

wilbur1

We rounded off a terrific day of shopping at lunching in Lititz, PA
with a visit to the Wilbur Chocolate Company!
Home of the famous Wilbur Buds®,
this candy store and museum is located at 48 N. Broad Street.

We did the self-guided tour of the museum.

How interesting to see antique candy-making tools -
oversize copper bowls, paddles, ladles
and most of all, the old chocolate molds.
Wilbur has been making chocolate since 1884!

Yes, Cherry Acres is a furniture store,
specializing in fantastic pieces made from lumber that has been
reclaimed from barns and buildings that were over 100 years old.
The furniture is made both in their Lititz shop

hand-blown pitcher & glass sets, Talavera pottery, and more.
Snapped some photos of the things I liked best~
