My last post before my trip is a cute little gal from The Greeting Farm...I love their stamps! They have a good assortment of rubber and digi-stamps. Never tried their digital images, but the rubber is awesome quality..deeply etched red rubber on a cling mount.
The card base is real red CS. The black layer is embossed with a swirly cuttlebug folder and there are a few different layers of DP. I stamped my cowgirl on neenah CS and coloured her with copics. I found it hard to distinguish the black hair from the black cowboy hat, so I went over the hat with a clear spica glitterpen to give it some shine (you might be able to see it better on the close up shot below) I cut her out and popped her up on dimensionals. I tried to make it look like the crystal flourishes were coming out of her six-shooter and off her heels. She is a naughty little thing, isn't she?! LOL!! I wouldn't know anything about being a bad girl, hehe!! Bits and pieces of her outfit and boots are 'glittered' as well. The DP is also shiny and fancy looking. She also has baby braddies on her belt...I'm thinking studs, since she is a bad girl!
This is a card that reminds me of my friend Mindy. Maybe if you could see this girls back there would be a full back piece tattoo!! LOL- Then it would be Mindy for sure!!! haha
Supplies:
Stamps: Cheeky shooter, TGF
Ink: memento
CS, DP: SU
Copics: Hair, hat- C1, C3, C5, C7, 100, 0
Skin- E0000, E00, E01

Holiday Beach Bum
Hi everyone!! Hope you are all having a great Saturday! We went into the city and took our 2 oldest boys to 'Walking With Dinosaurs'- It was great and they loved it! We did a little shopping and I got some new lululemon ( a treat when you live in the middle of nowhere) and ate at Calgary's famous Peters Drive-In...Mmmmm!!!! Tomorrow we leave for BC (first week in the Shuswap and 2nd week in Victoria), so no posts for awhile. Here is my card, inspired by our trip and the 35 degree celsius weather they are forcasting:)
I stamped this little cutie, coloured her with copics, popped her up on dimensionals on top of circle nesties(sponged) and stamped and cut out her little shovel, sand bucket and seashell.
She has a little paper-pieced swimsuit in the same pattern as the center panel.
The panels are layered over wide striped ribbon with a corduroy orange brad and yellow button layered over the knot. I love how this card turned out and love using bold, bright colours on girl cards instead of the typical pink/purple.
Notice my new watermark?? I picked them up at Karen Girons blog. My hubby came to my rescue again and helped me with the process, although he figured that it was a pretty easy job...so I'm sure anyone but me could figure it out with no problems! lol!!

Stamp: Beach Bum (MFT)
Ink: Memento- tuxedo black, tangelo, cantaloupe

DP: Basic Grey- Lime Rickey

Mojo 150- Bras are Like Friends
Yeah, I know I said that I was done posting for the weekend, but there is one sketch challenge that I wanted to enter before it's too late. I'll keep the detail short because I have to go get on a plane first thing tomorrow:)
The sketch challenge is Mojo 150 and here is what I came up with:
The picture quality is seriously poor. I don't know how I expect to win anything with these kinds of shots. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I am always taking pictures in the middle of the night?? I have done some investigating and I think that I need a light box. I'll try and find one next week when I get back. The pics aren't doing my cards justice (at least thats what my friend Sarah says and she seems to know everything;) LOL!
The only thing that I did a little different is bunching up the ribbon, rather than a traditonal bow or knot. This technique is actually super-easy and looks great! I'll tell you more someday, but right now I am tired...
I coloured the bra with copics and used a Spica clear glitter pen and Spica pitchblack glitter pen to sparkle it up a wee bit. I cut out the stamped image and tried to make it look like it is hanging off the ribbon.
Here is a closer look:
I threw some rhinestone flourish sticker on it for a bling-effect as well. Where better for bling than on a lingerie card? The bra is popped up on silicone, er I mean dimensionals:) There is a black rhinestone in the center. A few dies cut lacey looking scallops add to the overall 'sexy-sweet' effect...wouldn't a girl love to get this card?
The inside uses the same die as well as a heart trim border punch and a black satin bow (think: stocking garter) and some more black rhinestones.
And I LOVE the sentiment! It cracks me right up! I would have rather separated the two verses of the quote and put the first bit on the card front, but it wasn't working, so I mounted the whole thing together and stamped:) This whole set is seriously cute and Skipping Stones Designs has many more humerous sets. And they have cheap shipping to boot(some companies that ship to Canada are really steep, but these guys were good! And fast too:)!
Supplies
Stamps: Skipping Stones Designs
Ink: Memento
CS, DP: Stampin Up
Ribbon: SU
Black rhinestones: Micheals
Rhinestone Flourish: unknown (package thrown away...whoops)
Dies: MFT
Punch: SU
Other: Copics, Spica pens, Bigshot

SFYTT Magnolia/ Gramma
So, I am leaving tomorrow morning to fly to Regina and spend the weekend with my hubby for our 11th anniversary! We are staying at the beautiful Temple Gardens Mineral Spa Resort in Moosejaw. It is a fantastic spa resort and has an attached casino and those of you who know me (so far everyone, lol) know that I enjoy gambling:) My sweetie told me to go ahead and book myself some treatments in the spa, so I chose a hot stone massage and an acai berry pedicure! Sounds delicious, but I don't think you're supposed to eat any of the products;) And then I am riding back here to Alberat with him, as his job is FINALLY over! Yippee! He's been gone since the middle of June, so the kids are soooo excited to see him:) But first mom and dad need a weekend together. So this is my last post until next week. My first week in Blogland has been fun and I feel almost addicted already! lol! Thanks for jumping on the bus with me and taking this little journey! I appreciate your support and kind words!
Here is my card that I got done today, in leiu of a weekend post:
OMG- This is probably my favorite card that I have ever made and I had no vision of what I was even going to use for a stamp or paper or anything when I started out! Just Jen's Sketch for You to Try for this week and that's it! I bought this stamp the other day when I was in the store picking up some EZ Mount for another stamp and their Magnolia stamps were 30% off, so I figured "what the heck" and bought 2! It wasn't until I stamped her I realized how adorable she really is. The 'rubber' her just didn't do her justice. I stamped her in trusty memento ink onto Taylored Expressions Choice Buttercream. It's such a nice CS...you would love it if you tried it. And it colours nicely too. The colours of copics I used will be listed at the end of the post in the supply list. She is cut out with a spellbinders circle nestie and sponged with SU creamy caramel (discontinued, which is a crime) and chocolate chip ink. I then cut out 2 of the same die(1 dp and 1 choc chip CS) using spellbinders labels three and trimmed the patterned paper one so that the back chocolate CS one would show. Brown baby braddies are on the corners. All of the layers of DP and CS are sponged with chocolate chip ink. I wanted a really vintage look and sponging is pretty much the easiest way to achieve some level of distressing on a project. The DP is my new fave!! I only wish I wouls have bought more now that I see it in action! I also added 2 olive buttons with twine bows to follow the sketch design. That's one of the nice things about sketches- they kind of help you to do things that you normally wouldn't do. I never would have put 2 buttons on a card like this, but now that its done, I think it looks balanced and really finishes it off.
Her little apron is also paper-pieced using some of the same DP. I then stamped the apron a 3rd time on a scrap of buttercream, coloured the pocket to match the dress and glued it on top of the dp piece. The inside of the card has another circle nestie that is sponged and has the sentiment stamped in chocolate chip ink. That stamp is by My Cute Stamps and is called Sweet Chocolate. The punches are from SU and Martha Stewart.
As I was making this card, it was making me think more and more of my Gramma Edith Hunt (my mom's mom) who passed away about 3 years ago. Everything from the paper to the wooden spoon and apron...she even wore a kerchief to town when her hair was in rollers. She was always cooking or baking and would feed us a loaf of homemade bread and churned butter and canned jam for lunch...Mmmmm...I can still taste it! In honour of her I think that I'll give this card to my mom for her birthday (Aug 17). I bet the first thing she'll think of when she see's it is Gramma too:)
ink: Memento tuxedo black, SU creamy caramel and chocolate chip
CS: SU chocolate chip, old olive, TE buttercream
DP: Basic Grey 'Nook & Pantry' collection
Punches: scallop (SU); trellis (martha stewart)
Dies: Spellbinders Front: Labels Three, Standard Circles Small; Inside: Standard Circles Large
Copics: skin: E000, E00, E01, E11, R12
hair: E25, E27, E47
dress: YG93, YG95
socks: Y23, Y32
kerchief/ribbon:E08, E13

Mosquito Rant and SSSC 21 Flopsey Card
Good Morning all!!! I didn't get my post up last night because I took the boys to the 'Movie Under the Stars' in town. It was lots of fun:) They played 'How to Train Your Dragon' which I love!! Maybe its got something to do with Gerard Butler's voice as Stoic the Viking leader;) lol!!!! We practically got eaten by mosquitos, even though we used 3 different kinds of bugspray and our homemade listerine/lemon juice spray. Hoodies done up so tight all you could see was our sweet little cherub faces poking out the drawstring holes, thick sweatpants (and warm night~ugh!), socks, shoes and blankets piled on helped keep them away...a little. The little buggars are relentless and even bit me through my pants and found a few bare knuckles....grrrrr!!!! I loathe mosquitos!
Here is my card:
I made this card using the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 21. I couldn't seem to get it all to fit right on a standard sized card, so this ones a little bigger (5 1/2x 5 1/2)...No problem! You can buy 6x6 envelopes, so I figure if there's an envelope out there that needs filling, then let's make a card to go in it!
This card actually came together pretty easy~ The square Stampin Up! punches make a world of difference...just ask my SIL Ashley who once made a card like this and cut each little square out with her paper trimmer, lol! The little bunny stamp is My Favorite Things Rainfall Flopsey and I love their bunnies...I have a little tea time one that I'm itching to ink up! I stamped Flopsey onto Neenah CS (also good for copics- you can buy it online lots of places, but I bought mine in individual 8 1/2x11 sheets at Scrapbookers Paradise) in memento tuxedo black and coloured him with Copics. I drew the pattern on his rubber boots with the copics multiliner (no smearing if you colour over the lines) and coloured them with R29 marker to match the red polka dot dp. I normally paper-piece, but the patterns were all to large scale for the little boots, so I decided to mimic one of the patterns of the dp on a smaller scale! Spellbinders dies were used to cut out my Flopsey image and the kiwi CS behind. I made my card base with real red CS ( a staple in my books;), ran the black CS through my bigshot with a swiss dots cuttlebug folder, punched out squares of bermuda bay CS and dp with the SU! punches.
The inside uses the same spellbinder die (you want to tie the front and the back together- don't throw a completely different set of shapes onto the inside of the card or there will be no flow to your design) and stamped with the cute little sentiment (the other one that came with the set was more my style, but it was long and I am not at the point yet where I am ready OR willing to cut a stamp to make it fit!!! Scary!! lol). Then I punched some black embossed CS with a SU! border punch and tied some polka dot ribbon around it..pretty simple!! With your card 'guts', keep it easy. I usually take inventory of my little heap of scraps from the card front and try to find a few pieces that will do for the inside. Don't be cutting into a new sheet of paper for the inside- That's just crazy!!
After the card was all finished (inside and all) I added Crystal Effects to the puddle and Flopsey's boots to give some added dimension and make it look 'wet'....I rarely bust out the crystal effects, as I seem to get it jammed up, squeeze to hard and then have a big gush break loose onto my project! Therefore I recommend that you get the juices flowing onto a scrap piece of paper...take my word for this. I know. I also added some cute little raindrop stickers to his umbrella! Here's a few shots of the up close details...hopefully you can see the glossy, wet look that the crystal effects creates!
Supplies
Stamp: Rainfall Flopsey- MFT
CS: SU! (real red, basic black, bermuda bay)
Designer Paper: Papertrey Ink- Beautiful Blooms
Ink: Memento, SU! (soft sky sponged on nesties)
Ribbon: SU! Bermuda Bay
Punches: SU! 1 3/8 & 1 1/4 square punches, open scallop border
Dies: Spellbinders, cuttlebug embossing folder
Other: Copic markers and multiliner, crystal effects (SU!), raindrop stickers- Cloud 9 Design

MTSC85- Cherry Emma
Hi Mandi (hehe- my only follower thus far and coincidentally, my SIL:)
WhooHoo!! A post-a-day! I am meeting my goal (even though its only day #2, hehe)!!
Todays card was made using Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge.....I loved the layout, as I always seem to like cards with a round focal point. I seriously fell in love with this little girl with her cherry shirt when I saw her at the store, and bought her right there and then!! Seems like all my 'colouring' stamps are little girls...and I have 3 little boys? What gives? I think that companies need to start making more adorable little boy stamps for us mothers of boys! Maybe I should illustrate a few and try to sell them. I've got more than enough inspiration..my boys are the most adorable stinkers out there, and I'm not biased at all;) LOL!
Anyway, on with the card. I stamped her in memento tuxedo black (the ink that works the best with Copics- no smearing, bleeding, etc.) onto choice buttercream CS by Taylored Expressions and coloured her with my copics (thanks again Mandi for the birthday money that got me my first copics and hooked on them!). Then I cut her out, and paper pieced her lil pants with some dp. I popped her up on SU! dimensionals onto my spellbinders nesties (embossed and sponged with pink ink). The paper layers were all zig zag stitched together on my trusty old Janome sewing machine. I am all about the sewing on cards right now, and it's really not as time-consuming or as hard as one might think:). I used the RicRac die from MFT and embossed it with a SU! texture plate and my Bigshot ( I {heart} my bigshot and use it on darn near every project). To finish it all off I added a sunny yellow paper flower, and a pink button with twine bow! I really like the way it turned out!! The inside was pretty simple, just a little RicRac piece of dp and a punched sentiment~
Stamps: Cherry Emma- C.C. Designs; sentiment- Jolinne, Just for You- My Favorite Things
Paper: CS- SU!; DP- Basic Grey, Lemonade Collection
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, SU! Pink Pirouette
Dies: Spellbinders, MFT
Punches: SU!
Button- MFT; Twine- SU!; Paper Flower- unknown from stash
Others: Copics, sewing machine and thread, dimensionals (SU!), Bigshot, texture plate (SU!)
That's it for tonight- Thanks for lookin'!

MFTGUESTDT0810
Wow! My very first post EVER!! I am so excited to be starting this rollercoaster blogland ride, but I'm also really nervous for a few reasons: 1) I am basically the worst computer saavy person out there (besides my mom and dad- therefore I am genetically predisposed to be a stunted technology wise) and 2) I'm afraid I'll have no 'followers' and this will all be a waste:) Oh well, here it goes anyway!!
I made this card for the My Favorite Things August guest designer challenge, but alas, the kids were being rotten and I wasn't able to finish it until they went to sleep, so I think that I missed the deadline to enter:( Boo to the kids!! I will eternally blame them for not winning all the MFT goodies!! And I LOVE MFT! Double Boo!

I also can never seem to photograph my cards to show how nice they actually are...any tips on that? Here is a close up. I am pretty new to the world of coloring with Copics (a couple of months), but I think I am doing okay so far:) This was my first try at auburn hair. I thought that colour of hair would go great with these dp's and I like the result.
Deets: Paper-pieced her dress, tights and hair pretty; Added glittery look to her hair pretty, shoes, dress ruffle with spica glitter pen; Added organza flower and copic coloured pearl to flower
