{TSG218} Paper-piecing with ME!

This week our challenge is brought to us by our Trendsetter of the week, ME!!  I am  challenging you to make a card or project using paper piecing.

I've used the super cute elephant from the set It's a Jungle Out There. As you can see, I pieced his ears for a fun twist! I tied a little hemp knot around his tail (so he doesn't 'forget'). I used MFT Fishtail flags and a wooden heart button tied with MFT hemp cord. The sketch I used is last weeks Retro Sketch (#73) .

To be eligible for the giveaway, create a NEW card or project using paper piecing, and then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the InLinkz that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (August 5th). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

By participating in this challenge, you may also find yourself in the Trendsetting Spotlight that shines on the TSG Blog every Thursday. We will be on the lookout to find challenge cards that stand out and show Trendsetting qualities. TSG stamps are not required to participate in the challenges but are appreciated :)

You do not need to have a blog to be able to participate in the TSG Challenges! You can simply add the URL link from your project after it has been uploaded to your online craft gallery. If you upload your card to an online craft gallery, please use the keyword TSG218 so we can check out your beautiful work!

{TSG} Amalia Ballerina and Poppy

This month we have two new sets from Megan Suarez: Amalia Ballerina and Poppy. I just LOVE Megan’s style, and we hope you do too! Amalia is the sweetest dancer, and Poppy is the newest of our Spice Girls.

First up is my card using Amalia Ballerina. She is coloured with Copics, and I added spica pens for some subtle glitter. I added a bow with sheer white ribbon with glittery edges to keep in line with the tutu. Some SU rhinestones and silver CS add more bling. The sentiment was added onto a MFT Fishtail Flag STAX die.

Here you can see a bit more of that sparkly sheen that Spica pens provide.

Next I made a card featuring Miss Poppy! She reminds me of Princess Leia from Star Wars with her big side buns ;) She is also coloured with Copic markers. I added more SU rhinestones to her hair bows and outfit, as well as spica pens.

I used the layout from this week's Retro Sketch challenge #64, which my friend and fellow Trendsetter, Danielle, designed! Danielle is a master at sketches! Just this past February when I had the pleasure of meeting Danielle (and eating her cookies, nom nom) she whipped up a cute sketch for me in a matter of seconds when I was stumped on a card layout! I love the sketch she came up with this week and I can see using it over and over! LOVE the polaroid element and the flag strip tucked in!
I used MFT dies for this card (Polaroid, Fishtail Flags STAX, Circle STAX 1 and 2)

Poppy is a 3x4 set that includes a total of 5 stamps and will sell for $9.00.
Amalia Ballerina is a 3x4 set that includes a total of 3 stamps, and will sell for $9.00.

Both sets will be available on Saturday, May 25th at 11pmEST.
Would you like to win both the new sets from Megan Suarez? Here is what you need to do- visit the Trendsetter’s blogs that are participating in each of the blog hop challenges below and comment on their creations as you go. One of the Trendsetter’s blogs (from each hop day) will be randomly chosen as the ‘it’ blog and a winner will be picked using a random number generator from the comments left on that Trendsetter’s Blog Hop Challenge post.
You will not know which blog has been chosen so the more you comment on the better your chances are of winning new stamps! The Blog Hop Challenges will be open until 5 PM Eastern Time Saturday, May 25thwith the winner being announced during the release party chat.

Kraftin' KimmieStamps is thrilled to introduce the newest set in our *NEW* Exclusive Krafty Klubhouse stamp sets!!! Today we are sharing previews of all THREE new images by Annie Rodrigue included in this special edition set, along with SEVEN, yes I said SEVEN coordinating sentiment stamps!

Now let me be clear once again…..there is NO club to join or sign up for! ANYONE from ANYWHERE in the world can order this special set but ONLY at the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Shop!! These images will not be sold individually, but only as the complete set called…..SEA JEWELS! ALSO if you order this set before June 22nd, you will also receive a special coupon code for 20% OFF your next online order!

The set goes live on the shop website at midnight tonight!!! We will also be celebrating with an awesome SEA JEWELS Krafty Hop and giving away a set to one lucky stamper, so be sure to join us for more gorgeous samples tomorrow!!!

I coloured her up with my copics, and then flake by precious flake, I added Stampendous tea stained Mica Fragments (I bought mine at a nearby stamping store, but you can find them online here). It was actually quite easy, just starting at the bottom with some liquid and tweezers and working my way up!
I used spica pen in buttermilk and clear, as well as glaze pen to add some sparkle to the jewels. And the paper is actually MME's Lost & Found Christmas paper! The colours were so rich, just what I was looking for! So don't always rule out your seasonal paper for everyday use!
The ribbon and natural jute twine are from the Ribbon Carousel.

And here is one of the SEVEN sentiments that comes with this set! I LOVE the font on these sweet sentiments!

'Sea' you tomorrow for the Sea Jewels Blog Hop!
