Simple Gift Bag from Shanna

Hello to you all today! Shanna here with a little quick bit of inspiration for you.

Yes I said quick. This week became crazy busy as my husband came home because last minute he got a weekend off which totally threw off my agenda. However, being the mom I am got to thinking ahhh how can I create something that will inspire people to create on the fly but be super simple, super cute, and really quick.

I decided to head to my stash of things to alter and I had this little bag from a bag set I bought. You can find these in any party section of craft stores or where they keep bags and envelopes and such.

I opened it up and added Distress Ink all to the side. Then I grabbed my papers and cute them down to fit. Then I had a lightbulb idea!

I fussy cut out these flowers from the paper.... and then I cut a strip out creating my own banner from the ... paper. Then I used a stamp from my stash that basically explained who the bag was for.

The longest part of this of course was the flower fussy cut but I just thought it was so perfect and so cute and great because my daughter's birthday will be here in just 2 days so what better way to sneak her some jewelry our candy!

So give some gift bags a personal touch and have fun!

Halloween Shadowbox by Yasmin Tölche

Hello all! It's getting closer and closer to Halloween and I've made a halloween decoration with the Marion Smith Designs "Wicked Times" Collection. I love it!

I have to say I do adore making these shadowboxes and gluing all sorts of nicknacks into them. This one was just so fun to make!

This is little shadowbox with trinkes ready to decorate my house. I've added papers for the "Wicked Times" collection to the background and glued loads of junque and gems to accent my piece. The sceleton is the coolest thing ever and are dangeling loosley in front of the box. The flowers are Marion Smith Designs and the small little brown bottle is also a junque and gems.

I can't say it enough the sceleton is just way cool. I've painted the whole box with black gesso, Then I added colorlab pigment into white gesso to make the orange and the purple paints. I covered the whole piece with crackle paint. I'm still unsure if that was the right move. What do you guys think.

Anyways.. Hope you have a fantastic halloween celebration! Thanks for joining me here today!

Mixed Media Canvas with Jelissa

Hi there friends!

Today I'm up on the Marion Smith Designs blog today with a mixed media canvas I created using MSD stamps, Garment District papers and also Junque and Gems embellishments.

Here's the canvas:

My background was created with a lovely blend of water colors, mist and glazes. And I've combined two different small stamp modules from the Curios Stamp set and used them as a repeating motif in my background.

And some close-ups:

A fussy-cut doll from Mad Tea Party

Junque and Gems goodies. I've also dabbed some liquid pearls to accent my stamped images.

A lovely flower from Curios stamp set which is the centre piece of the canvas. Had so much fun layering the colors!

And here's the start to finish video of how I put this canvas together:

And that's all I have for today, thanks for dropping by!

"Never Grow Up" Layout by Peggy Lee

Today I have the pleasure of sharing with you my last post as a Creative Team Member for Marion Smith Designs Blog for 2013 & 2014...my time has been such a creative adventure! I have been extremely blessed to work along side these amazing team members...and I want to thank to Marion for this chance to create with her fabulous and beautiful collections!
For my creative idea I decided to create a scrapbook layout using Never Grow Up paper collection by MSD and I knew I wanted to use this photo of my daughter's new shoes....
This photo reminds me that we are never to young to dream and play in life. And the title of this paper collection works perfectly for my title...cause every girl loves her shoes (dressing up feeling pretty) as well as playing/creating with paper...it always makes me feel young at heart!
This was a fun layout to create, adding textures and layers! I fussy cut out the beautiful roses
out of one of the paper collections...tucked them around the picture.
What's really fun about Marion's paper collections is all the pieces and images you can fussy cut apart.
Which allows me to tuck little cut outs here and there,
I also used Marion's Junque & Gems and Resins pieces.
Here is a close up of the beautiful roses I cut out...those shoes make me smile!

Memories of my past year on MSD Creative Team.
I also want to share with  you all some of my favorite creations,  I created for the MSD blog with
using MSD fabulous paper collections, stamps and embellishments
.

Close up of the handmade flower using MSD Rose Petal Die & Leave Die!
And the fabulous Junque & Gems center rhinestone/pearl button....amazing!

Here is a video on how I created this fabulous flower above!!
                                                                          Enjoy!

My Altered Wedding Cake using Garment District Collection
                                                by MSD & Petaloo flowers!!
