So Thankful

Image
It's 9:30pm on Thanksgiving, I'm sitting in my living room drinking a glass of wine, the kids are all in bed, husband is sleeping and I can't help think of all the things that I am just so thankful for! Here's what I'm thankful for! Most serious, but some silly..although those silly ones do make a difference :o) Of course when people ask what are you thankful for, I think for many of us, we automatically say "our family & friends", well for us that is so true! If it wasn't for our family and friends, I don't know that we could have made it through the past 3 months. I hope all of you know just how much we love you and how you all hold a special place in our hearts! I am so thankful for my hubby ...even though there are times we are so stressed and have no patience he has always been there for me! He is the best thing that has ever happened to me and I don't know what I would do with out him! I love you babe with all my heart! My kids...Kai

Our boys are 3 months old! That is absolutely crazy! I can't believe how fast time has gone by and how big they are--- I remember when they were wearing preemie clothes and now they can't get into 3 month sizes fast enough! HAPPY 3 MONTH!

Home HERE WE COME!

After a very long week they are sending Tyson home! We are so excited!!! Thanks for all your prayers!!

Highs & Lows of Surgery

Recovering after his surgery Thank you all for praying for Tyson, he is recovering great after a very long surgery Tuesday. Usually it takes a few days to close their chests back up after surgery, but his swelling was not too bad so, Dr. Nigro was able to close it on Wednesday, which is fantastic! He was doing really well with his breathing on the ventilator while trying to ween him off, that they decided to remove that Wednesday morning. After they removed it unfortnately, Tyson stopped breathing 5 different times within about 30-45 minutes after the ventilator was removed. The Nurses, Doctors and Respitory Therapists were still with him and were able to make him breathe again on his own after messing with and having to "bag" him. They believe that he still had the sedative medication in his blood stream and was not as awake enough. They gave him medication to reverse the effects of the sedative so that he would wake up which worked and he became stable. A few hours later

Surgery Update

Hello- this is Sarah. Tyson is out of surgery and it went really well. Ashley and Rob are with him now!

Surgery Update

Hello- This is Sarah. Ashley asked me to update everyone on Tyson's surgery. He went in for surgery at 8:30am and was put on bypass around 9:30am. As of 1pm, the doctors were warming up his body temperature. They should be getting him off bypass and closed up soon! I will let everyone know when he is out of surgery.

Time for Surgery!

Originally Tyson's surgery was to be on Monday, but do to some scheduling conflicts with the hospital, it has been re-scheduled for Tuesday, November 10th @ 7:30am. We will be taking him in tomorrow for some pre-op testing and if all goes well then we're a go for Tuesday!! Some of you have asked if we can have visitors and yes we can. We ask that you wait 72 hours from Tuesday because when he gets out of surgery his chest will be open and it can be for up to 72 hours and please leave your children at home---this way we can minimize the risk of infection. Also, please keep in mind that it's not just our son that is in there, there are so many sick kids that have worse heart conditions than Tyson does, so if you have been sick or your immediate family is/has been sick please refrain from coming. Otherwise, you are more than welcome to visit, just call us to make arrangements as were only allowed limited visitors at one time! We'll be at the same place, St. Joe's Hos

Halloween!

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and we had a blast with the kids! Rob & I were going to dress up with them, but we thought we were going to be in the hospital so we didn't get costumes! But, WATCH OUT because next year, the Majorek's will be rockin' it! ha ha ha :o) The boys were a hit with the trick-or-treaters...no matter hold the kids were they loved the "babies"---that's what all the kids called them when they'd come by! Whether they were at the door with us or all the way by the back door, they just got a kick out of them! Although one particular set of trick-or-treaters stood out more than the others...there were 3 boys, between the ages of 4-9 and I had Tyson in my hands and the oldest boy says to me "Does he have cancer?" & I told him "No, he doesn't have cancer his heart is broken and he has to have it fixed" and all 3 boys look at him and say "Oh, that's so sad"---It was by far the most preci
