3rd & Final Trimester!!

We have reached the final decent of our pregnancy! Woohoo!! We can hardly believe it!! Since we are having twins our doctors say that we will probably only make it until 36 weeks...well if that's the case then we only have about 8 weeks until our boys are here!! Or as Rob likes to say a little over 2 months ( it makes him feel better because it sounds like we have more time :o) ) I can't believe that, it seems like it was just yesterday we found out we were pregnant! On Thursday, I had another check up and both boys are doing great! The specialist was very impressed on their growth! Baby A weighs 2lbs 5oz and Baby B weighs 2lbs 7oz---they are big boys, and according to my weekly updates the baby(ies) should be just about 2lbs and ours are bigger!! Not that I'm complaining or anything, but I really don't want to deliver massively huge babies!! Of course I do want them to be a good size, especially Baby B so that he can be big and strong for his surgery...so, if they are

Father's Day

For Father's Day, Rob went golfing with my cousins and Uncle, then went out to eat with myself and Kaila then to a movie and later just relaxed!! It was very nice to see him enjoy his day and of course him open his gifts!! Kaila and I bought him stuff he needed...clothes, clothes oh and more clothes! But the boys got him something special...their first Nebraska Cornhusker gear!! Now they can sit with Daddy while watching the game and show that they are big fans!

Kaila's 9th Birthday!!

Last Saturday we celebrated Kaila's 9th Birthday by having a slumber party and then a pool party the next day! Rob thought I was crazy and before it started I disagreed but soon after...I started to agree!! hahaha No really, it was a good time! Kaila had so much fun as well did the kids! We did all kinds of things from swimming, eating, movies, bracelet making (thank you Haley) to make-overs! Yep that's right make-overs! They did their own make-up and nails and then for the fun part...they did mine and my sisters!! I would say that we definitely are the start of a new trend!! :o)

Update

So far we've met with the 2 different Heart Specialists, the Cardiologist and some of his staff, the babies Surgeon and my new "ob", well actually parenatologist and our favorite person, Beth. She's a nurse and coordinator of this entire operation and is absolutely wonderful...it's been 2 weeks of doctors, doctors and more doctors! And a tour where he will stay during his time at the hospital. And we still have a few more doctors to meet that will be working on and with him when he's born---that will happen in July. As mentioned in our last posting, Baby B has a Congenital Heart Defect. His specific type is called Transition of the Great Arteries. To learn more about the defect with all the correct terms etc., click on one of these links: http://www.pediheart.org/parents/defects/TGA.htm or http://www.congenitalheartdefects.com/typesofCHD.html#TGA . These sites will tell you all about it. After meeting with all the doctors, surgeons and their staff we feel so

Tough Times...

We have encumbered our first major challenge as parents to be. After visiting our doctor about 2 weeks ago Thursday, we were given some not so good news...Baby B may have a heart defect. At that appt we were told that they were unable to detect the Aorta and Pulmonary Artery arteries crossing into the proper ventricles of the heart, and that they were sending us to a specialist to take a closer look at Baby B's heart. This past Wednesday, we went to see the specialist and unfortunately they weren't able to get a good look at their hearts, so after being there for an hour and 45 minutes they told us we needed to go to their Scottsdale office to see the head Heart Specialist, Dr. Nyberg. So, on Thursday we went to his office and had another ultra-sound done. During such time, he indicated that in fact Baby B does have a heart defect and is going to have to have open heart surgery once he is born. He did state that right now Baby B is just fine because I am supplying his oxygen
