Favorite Memories and a Goodbye!

Hello friends,
This is Hussena here sharing with you my very last post as a design team member of the Lulupu team. As you all know by now, that this is the end of the term for all the current design team members as we make way for fresh, new talent and some incredibly talented crafters who will soon become a part of Lulupu in January. So, before saying goodbye, we all are sharing some of our cherished projects that we created as a part of the Lulu Poohs team. :D

My very first one has to be this Masculine card which I shared in September, 2014. it was a challenging one for me, as you'll know that I love doing mostly feminine cards with lots of flowers and embellishments. I had to think out of the box and really create something inspirational and I was pretty happy the way this turned out.

Creating a scene on a card can sometimes be very difficult, but this card makes me very happy and proud. :)

This layout has a lot of significance to me as this is not only my ever layout I have created in my 4 years of crafting, but this was specially made to preserve some of my very precious memories of my parents.

And, my current card which incorporates different textures. For the first time, I have used only store bought flowers for this entire card which has to be a very first for me! :D

If you have been with me so far, thank you very much for your patience. :-)
But before I end this post. I would like to add a few lines here . . .This entire year working with Karuna, Shilpa, Deepti, Kripa and Jaya has been very rewarding and motivating to me and I have made some really good friends here which I'm sure we're going to carry on as we move towards different directions, But as of now, I will always be thankful for the incredible support and encouragement that Karuna always gave to us whenever we shared any of our projects/concerns with her. We really gelled together as a team and it was mostly due to the tireless work that our team leader, Shilpa did behind the scenes..She has been such a rock in all our problems and we will all miss her dedication and kindness very much...Big hugs to all my teamies :)

Also thank you to all the followers and readers of the Lulupu blog who have dropped in from time to time and left us encouraging comments ..Your words meant a lot to me :) Hope you  all have enjoyed our inspirations as much as we have loved sharing it with you !
Take care and have a nice day everyone !

Challenge #43- Inspired by Mood Board

Hello everyone!
It's Hussena here bringing you a brand new challenge for this fortnight which is -Anything goes with TWO or more patterned papers!
Here's a look at the Mood Board first :

Challenge # 43

Anything goes with 2 or more patterned papers.

{ General Guidelines HERE }

Challenge rules

1. You have to use TWO or more patterned papers to create a paper based project.

2. You can create anything be it cards, layouts, albums, canvases, tags etc but please make sure it is a paper based craft project only. The possibilities are endless for this challenge!

3.  TWIST - You can be inspired by the colours or the images in the mood board. You don't have to strictly follow the colours but please make sure that you mention in your post what inspired you from the mood board and how you interpreted it in your project.

4. You have time until 15 December 2014, 11:55 PM IST to submit your projects.

This is what the Winner of this challenge will take home. :D

And, here's a look at my project for this challenge. I have made a card inspired by the above Mood Board :

The base of my card has been made using three different patterned papers. The light pink striped pattern paper is from Graphic 45, followed by the blue one from Prima Marketing Cigar Box paper pad and finally the alpha one from Prima Marketing Coffee Break Paper pad.

The small butterflies were paper pieced from Prima Marketing Forever Green paper pad. For the base of my floral arrangement, I have used a Prima Marketing Doily Die #1 and popped it up on foam dots and colored with Distress ink- Tattered Rose.

I have created a shabby-chic card so to create the look, I have distressed all the papers using a paper distressing tool and have inked all the edges of the papers with Distress ink- Tattered Rose. The flowers are all from my stash and I have Gesso-ed the edges of the flowers using Heidi Swapp Color Shine- Tropicana Teal Mist mixed with Gesso and painted using a paint brush to give that light blue colour to the flowers. The Gesso gives the flower a very nice texture and colour!

The sentiment has been stamped and paper-pieced and popped up on foam dots to give that raised look. I have used a lot of rhinestones to mimic the inspiration from the mood board.
I was inspired by the striped umbrella and the pink flowers on the mood board and all the colours too and tried to incorporate in my card through the floral arrangement and my card base!

I hope you like my inspirational card. Please do join us in this challenge by linking up your creations below in the link tool. Really looking forward to seeing all your beautiful work!

Hope you all will play along our challenge. Please read the challenge guidelines before entering your project. It's very disheartening when we have to disqualify entries because they have not followed the rules. Have a nice day everyone!

Gift bag with a matching tag

Hello crafty friends,
It's Hussena here, today to share with you the inspiration for our current challenge - Make a Git Set.
Gift set means 'Card with matching box, gift bags with tags, Easel card and box, Altered notebook/matching stationary and etc'

I'm sharing a kraft base gift bag with a matching tag! Here's a look at what I've created :
 The matching tag :

The set together:

To make this gift bag, I have used a kraft paper bag which was a local buy so I had a readymade base to work with but you can always create your own gift bags using Kraft paper we have in  our store. Here's a link to it.

The yellow pattern paper is from Pebbles Basic paper pad and I have layered die-cuts on it which I have coloured using Heidi Swapp Tropicana Teal Mist and Squeezed Lemonade Distress ink(I mean the bluish-green die-cut that you see on the bag). The flowers are handmade and were also colored using the same mist but I added loads of water and Distress Spray Stain- Picket Fence to lighten the colour. The leaves are also die-cut and colored using Crushed Olive and Shabby Shutters Distress ink. I've added few flower buds and foliage to complete my arrangement and also some tulle for added texture!
The border lace on the kraft bag is the Martha Stewart Doily Lace punch. I have colored my oval die-cuts on the bag and the tag using Heidi Swapp Gold Lame Mist to give the added shine!

The tag was made with the left-over paper from the bag and I've kept the arrangement same so that I could create a matching gift set.
You'll notice I have kept the sentiments very general on both my bag and tag so that this could be gifted for any ocassion be it for a birthday, wedding gift, marriage anniversary or any kind of celebration.

Hope you like my project. and don't forget to play along our challenge to win a Rs 500 gift voucher from our store :)
Have a nice day everyone!
