Chalkboard washi tape and sad goodbye

Hello friends!!!!
Neha here! December is my last moth at Lulupu and this is the last post. Its been a great and the most memorable journey here at Lulupu , It made me learn so much and have definitely grown as a better crafter, but sadly it has to end.
You can find details about our current challenge here

I have made two cards and the main focus of my cards this time is chalkboard style washi tape which I had received in my DT kit. I just loved this washi tape, using it you can create cool chalkboard effect with such an ease. You can find them in Lulupu store here

I haven’t tried chalkboard style before, so I was a bit unsure but now all my doubts are clear. I just put chalkboard washi tape on a CS and trimmed it according to the need. Then I have used pigment inks for stamping the sentiments. I stamped sentiment 2-3 times with pigment ink so there visibility is better and clear. For this I used my MISTI tool as I had to stamp 2-3 times. It makes your work so easy. I just love it! One thing you have to keep in mind while stamping with pigment ink on tape is that it takes time in drying. So leave it without disturbing till it dries completely otherwise it will smudge.

For first card I created the chalkboard panel and matted it with a blue CS.  Also, wrapped some twine around it. Next I matted it over ivory CS which was stenciled with DI (broken china) and stencil and lastly matted it over a black card base.

Here comes the second card. For this card I have used the same above technique for chalkboard effect. Did some stamping with black archival ink on ivory CS using altenew wild hibiscus stamp. Also heat embossed few flowers using golden EP. Then fussy cut them and colored with DIs mild lavender and Victorian velvet. Added some liquid pearls gold in the center. Also added a strip of golden glitter sheet beneath the chalkboard panel and arranged embossed flowers and my card was ready.

I hope you like these cards and will try your hands on this chalkboard washi tape.

And now is the time to say the final goodbye. I will be active on my  Facebook page. Will love if you connect with me there. Lulupu was the first blog whose challenges I use to enter last year and first one to take me as DT this year in January I am really thankful to Karuna Chauhan for believing in me and giving me a chance to design for Lulupu. This blog gave me the wonderful opportunity to work with some really awesome and talented team of designers, Manu, Tanvi, Kripa and Dolly.
Lastly, I would like to share few of my most favorite projects for this year. I really enjoyed making these projects for Lulupu.
Here is a card which I had made for my very first DT post. It’s a Circle shaped side step card. This one is my favorite

Next one is a Luminary. I was very happy the way it turned out finally.

A lighthouse made from scratch. It was very much appreciated by everyone.

My favorite Mixed media canvas with gelatos.

I also tried my hands on CAS cards for the very first time.

A wall art

And lastly this Z flap mini album done using my favorite altenew vintage roses

Embossing magic with a tuorial

Hey guys!!!
Neha here with another post and this time I am sharing with you two cards along with a short tutorial. This month's challenge is all about using embossing powders and our DT team is sharing some awesome project for your inspiration. You can find all details about the challenge here

Embossing Magic

Here is my first card. I have done heat embossing over watercolor paper and vellum using black and white EP. I have a tutorial for this one.

In next card I have heat embossed two images and a sentiment over vellum using white EP. Then matted this piece over a pattern paper which was further matted over a green card base.  I also did some faux stitching over vellum piece using a white ink pen. Added some sequins and glitter.

Here is the tutorial or a pictorial for the first card.
1. Take a watercolor paper and heat emboss the image with black EP.

2. Add some color. You can use DIs or watercolors or sprays. Here I have Heidi Swapp color shine sprays in peach and yellow color. The embossed image will resist the color. Thereafter I have trimmed the panel a bit.

3.  Next take a piece of vellum and cut it in a tag shape. Heat emboss the sentiment using white EP. Add some enamel dots. Glue it to the embossed panel using foam dots behind the enamel dots.

4. Matt it over a black card base and finish with some sequins and card is ready
.

That's all for today. I hope you like these cards. If you are interested in trying your hands at embossing then Lulupu store has a wide range of embossing powders and other supplies. You can enter your projects here.
 Hugs!

Sparkle shine- Wall art + Tutorial

Hello friends!!!
Neha here, today I am sharing with you a wall- art along with a pictorial. After a long time (one and a half month) I am back to crafting as due to some personal reasons I had to go out of station. But now I am back and very much excited to try my hand at new things.
This month lulupu's design team is sharing different tips and techniques to add sparkle and shine in your projects, In this project I have used Glitter EP, Embossing enamel, sequins, glass glitter and glitter glue.

Checkout the guidelines and more about this months theme here

  Here is my inspiration

I started with some PPs of different shape and sizes and matted them over each other. Used Glitter EP through different stencils randomly here and there. Arranged some die cuts and embellished it. The two big roses are handmade using punches and colored using worn lipstick DI. I just loved the way it turned out finally; super sparkly and glittery. This will be framed now and will be gifted to a friend. I hope she likes it.

Glitter EPs can be used very easily to add sparkle and bling to your projects and here I have used them with different stencils. Similarly Embossing enamels can be used to decorate your mdf embellishments and trust me they look much more gorgeous afterwards. Glitter glue like stickles can be used over floral embellishments and Prima glass glitter can be used with metal charms, resin frames and as it is over the surface using glossy accents or gel medium.

Some close up pics.

Mdf embossed with embossing enamel

I have used stickles glitter glue over handmade roses and glass glitter around the flowers using glossy accents

Well now here is the step by step tutorial along with pics.

1. Take 4 pattern papers of your choice (size of larger one is approx 10*10"). I have altered the edges of two big ones using designer scissors. The edges of smaller ones have been distressed with the help of scissor.

2. Distress all  of them with vintage photo DI and stick three of them over each other as shown in pic.

3. Next dab Versamark watemark ink pad through a stencil and emboss it with glittered Golden EP. I did this randomly using two different stencils.

4. Arrange some die cuts (distress them with vintage photo DI and place the next PP (this comes below photo mat)

5. Take some mdf embellishments of your choice and heat emboss them with Frantage shabby chic embossing enamel. This adds a very sparkly effect to them.

6. Now embellish your layout with mdf, flowers, pollens etc. I have also added some glass glitter from Prima (using glossy accents) near the floral arrangement and some golden sequins.
Your super glittery and sparkling wall frame is ready!

Hope you like it!!! Today is the last day to link your entries for the current challenge and you can do it here

CAS cards using stencils

Hello freinds!!
Neha here and today I am sharing with you some CAS cards which I made using stencils. CAS is usually not my style and I was bit worried, but to my surprise I loved doing it. I had fun creating these cards. But Before I go ahead I would like to remind you about our current challenge. Here is the link to it.
Challenge #51

Today is the last day to link your entries so get it done before it gets over.
Now coming back to the post. I have used various techniques with stencils to make these cards, like using Distress Inks,Ombre effect,  embossing and Texture paste. So in total I made 4 CAS cards.

So here comes the first one. For this card I took a White CS and simply sponged DI picked raspberry through a stencil. I have varied the intensity of DI, at some place darker shade and light at others. Matted it over a Bright pink CS of matching shade which was then matted over a white card base. Finished off with a sentiment and a die cut butterfly.

In second card I tried ombre effect with stencil. I started with dabbing DI spun sugar through the stencil over a white CS, then worn lipstick and finally Picked raspberry. Matted it over a white card base. Stamped a sentiment (Kaisercarft) on vellum and heat embossed it using black EP. Placed it in the center of the card using foam dots to add some dimension and finished it off with enamel dots on its four corners.

For the third card I decided to do heat embossing and its really very easy to do it with stencils. I just dabbed my mini versamark ink pad through it on a white card base, added Clear EP onto it and embossed it using heat gun. Thereafter I used DIs Picked raspberry and Spiced marmalade for the emboss resist effect. Added final touch with some twine and a die cut.

And now comes the final card. Here I have simply used Ranger's texture paste through stencil on  a white CS. Matted it over a white Card base. Added some color to the card using heat embossed vellum flowers, leaves and sentiment. The stamp set is from IO, heat embossed it using gold EP and then colored them with sketch pens. Added some rhinestones.

So Guys this is all for the today's post. I hope you like my cards and will try some CAS cards using stencils in different ways. Lulupu store has a wide range of stencils available here. There is still some time left to link your entries for our current challenge here.
