   All us girls at Scraps of Darkness are excited to share that we are being featured for 4 Wednesdays on "The Robins Nest" blog!!!  The Robins Nest is the manufacturer of many of the papers we used in our  August  "Envy" kit!!!

Hmmm... I think this is my last layout using the "Envy" kit from Scraps of Darkness! I managed to soak this kit right up and used every last drop of it!

I had to do one more layout using the tiny punched flower technique. Again, inspiration came from Melinda Spinks as she had done several layouts using this technique. This time I doubled up and chose two different tiny flower punches. I layered them and used a dot of gold stickles in the center. I made the large flower with the ivy paper in the kit, misted with one of the colors in our add on and I free hand cut the flower. The Dusty Attic piece was inked, painted, used glam and some flocking on it!!! (better to ask what didn't I do to it! LOL)

I'm sharing another layout featuring the August "Envy" kit from Scraps of Darkness. More of these beautiful papers and lovely flowers.

I did the popular wet distressing on my edges and used a chalk ink to brighten the edges up.
I mentioned before that I picked up some of the K & Company Silhouettes and I use them as masks. I did some fussy cutting on one of the papers and used it as embellishments.

The leaves are all Heartfelt Creations Stamps and Spellbinders dies.

The beautiful flowers were all included in the kit and add ons. I clustered them together on this layout instead of making my own flowers.

The chippe is Dusty Attic that I had in my stash.

Presenting "Envy"

This kit contains a beautiful mix of Kaisercraft and Robins Nest Papers, highlighted with ribbon, roses, rub ons and Pink Paislee Mistables! As always, Scraps of Darkness features a Romance,  Flora and Fauna and our Signature Color Add On! Stop by Scraps of Darkness to have a look at these beautiful compliments to the Main Kit.

My first layout is based on Charlottes sketch for us this month. Each month she creates a beautiful sketch exclusively for SOD.

Strength
I managed to coax a photo out of Melinda, our fearless leader and I truly enjoyed scrapping this beautiful lady!

 The quote is by Ralph Waldo Emerson and reads "What lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us" (Love this quote!) I'm into printing them on the photo. I did this last month with another layout. I don't leave much room for journaling so this is a great alternative.

 I made the large flower using my Sizzix Pointsetta Die. I colored the pointsetta petals with Lindys Magical Mica in "My Mojito Green" which was part of the color add on.

This photo is of my dd taken on a recent photo shoot. I used the beautiful Kaisercraft Chanteuse Collection paper and diecut included in our Main kit and Romance add on.
I was inspired this month from stalking the gallery of a wonderful designer I am sure you all know - Melinda Spinks. I was inspired by her layout titled "Lily" to use a background composed of tiny punched flowers.

I cut the lattice grid on my Silhouette SD and then I punched the flowers with a tiny punch. I used liquid pearls to create the pearl drop in the center of each one. The flowers in the corners were created by my stamping with an Inkadoo floral stamp on both pink cardstock and vellum. I them cut them out, twisted them on the handle of a paintbrush. I also used "Cosmo Pink" magical mica from our color add on to color them.

This is a photo of my husband and I on a recent photo shoot.

Here is a little tip: You can pick up K & Company Silhouettes cheap at Michaels or Joannes. They are always on sale or you can use a coupon and get them 40 to 50% off. They come two of each design in a package. So keep one for use on a layout and use the other one for a mask! That is what I did here. I used one of the Silhouettes as a mask for my background. The papers on this layout are from the kit and I added a lavender cardstock from my stash to create the diecut swirl and flower and vine.

I made the flower using my Tim Holtz Tattered floral die, and then I embossed it with a cuttlebug folder. The vines are a Spellbinders die and the swirls around the photo are another Sizzix die.

Each month I try to do something a little unexpected. Either unexpected for the kit or my style or both!

This is a photo of my husband taken on a recent photo shoot.

I wanted to do something unexpected with this "at first glance feminine inspired kit." I love to show how versatile Scraps of Darkness kits are. The paper selections and color add on allow you to suit the kit to your own style.
I had the diamond pattern mask on hand and used that with distress ink to create the background and totally change the look and feel of the paper. I also had the glimmer chip car on hand as well.

I also used one of my several script stamps to stamp on the background as well as on the Pink Paislee Mistable flowers and vines. The Dusty Attic Clock is something I had in my stash and Melinda sells a variety of Dusty Attic, ScrapMatts and ScrapFX in the store.
