Jim and Joe have been "working" all summer getting ready for this race.
By "working", I mean going mountain biking a couple times a week. Super rough.
We didn't totally know what to expect, but it was so fun and laid back. We were able to go hang out with him during one of the climbs. I was a little hesitant, like, "are we messing with your focus?", but it was all just easy going.
We rode ahead and met them at the top of the mountain where their third and final course started.
The girls were fairies; you can see Avery's wand in her hand.
The bikers just kinda hang around and get ready, then get in line and go down the mountain
one at a time, wearing a timing chip that calculates how fast they go.
We were a spectacle.
Jim and Joe + their wives + 7 kids to "see them off" down the hill.
I love how nonchalant everyone is...meanwhile they are going off/down/around/through some burley and steep stuff down there in the trees.
I wish we could see them in real action.
We drove back down to hang out and eat the best taco ever and not win anything at the raffle.
We stayed for hours because the kids just kept on having fun and fun and more fun rolling in dirt and playing.
The dirt situation...dusting these two off produced a literal cloud of dust.
