Oil painitng - Anarkali

Hi friends, sharing with you my very first oil painting frame. It is quiet huge and adorns the wall of our big hall at my native place.
This is the painting of a Indian queen/princess in olden days. It was fun to draw and paint the entire thing. She is all clad in lovely jewellery which i highlighted using kundan/color stones(not very visible in the photo). Her dress is a traditioanl ghaghra. I loved making her chunri (veil), love the translucent effect.
Sorry for the not so good pictures. This is all I could manage to take at night and also the outer cover made it difficult to get clear pics.
The main fun and challenge with this paining was how we transported it on my two wheeler. The person sitting at the back holding it with great difficulty and almost ready to fly with the frame!!!
Do let me know how you liked it!

Mix media canvas - gift from a dear friend

Gorgeous canvas, isnt it? I so admired the lovely canvases with amazing textures, which my dear bloggy friend Yvonne made for her niece and nephews..so lucky of them to have her as an aunt!
We met last month in Melbourne and had a great time. It was not less than a dream come true for me. She made this cutie for me and sent it all the way from singapore, just to reach me on my bday eve! I was happiest to receive this handmade pressie on my bday! :) Thanks dear..hugs.

Oil on canvas - Calling it done!

I had to call this painting done, else I can take years to complete, do and undo the painting (dont believe it? I completed my Radha Krishna painting in four years!! do check it out on my insistence :)) also with kiddo around I dont want to use oil colors for some time, may be toxic for her. So here we go...

My first try with oil paint on canvas. Also for the first time I used actual photographs as a inspiration. This is a scene captured when I was in US. Me and 3 friends had gone to NY over a weekend. My friend and me wanted to ride bicycle for a long time. This was a wonderful opportunity!! It being summer, nature was yet again at its best... greenery and beautiful flowers all around...The four of us hired a bicycle each and off we started for the bike adventure in central park (for those who dont know, Central park is a biiiiig park, all the karan johar shoots are done here! remember KANK and the fountain! :)) We thought we'll cover half of it and reach the fountain, as we had to return the bikes in 2 hr, however we missed the turn for half and ended up making a complete parikrama of the park!! We were damm tired, later we started riding in the slope and getting down from the bike during uphills!! Enjoying in between. This was one such small lake in the garden, were we got down (obviously for a photo shoot!!! ;)) There was this little kid with the elder, feeding the swan. It was a very beautiful picture in front of us, and could not stop ourselves from clicking them. Can never forget our bike adventure, it was worth every effort.

Oil Painting - Childhood memories

This is my first try with oil paint on canvas. Also for the first time I used actual photographs as a inspiration. This is a scene captured when I was in US. Me and 3 friends had gone to NY over a weekend (We stayed in NJ and NY was just 2 hrs away). My roomie and me wanted to ride bicycle for a long time. This was a wonderful opportunity!! It being summer, there were tulips all around. The four of us hired a bicycle each and off we started for the bike adventure in central park (for those who dont know, Central park is a biiiiig park, all the karan johar shoots are done here! remember KANK and the fountain! :)) We thought we'll cover half of it, as we had to return the bikes in 2 hr, however we missed the turn for half and ended up making a complete parikrama of the park!! Radha Krishna - Oil on hardboard

I made this oil painting of Radha and Krishna during my Engineering day. Took me 4 years to complete it! Created it at leisure in between the studies. It was fun and a good break and helped to free my mind. My friend Gagan and brother were my best critics for this painting. Could create it only because of Gods grace, I dont think I would be able to make somthing like this again in my lifetime..
