The fastest painting that I ever made!

Hi Friends

Wish you a very happy Diwali again! Do you remember a painting of mine which took 4 years to complete!! I am sure you dont :) You can check it out here
And can you believe I completed this painting just in 3 sittings! Right from the inception of the idea to final completion in just 3 days :)
Actually we had a little slot on top of the safety door, I wanted to fill it with something beautiful and that too before Diwali! I used my daughters old canvas for this. Painted with acrylic paints. Drew the Ganeshji image with hands. Later outlined the border and outlines with 3D outliners. Adorned Ganeshji's necklace with colorful stones.

Very happy with the result. Do let me know how you liked our little creation ( Yes little miss had definitely contributed in the painting in her own way, sometimes painting the bells, background and sometimes bugging me ...haha :))

This is where I started!

Follow your dream | Mixed media canvas

Hi Friends
Sharing with you a mixed media canvas. This is inspired from the lovely mixed media of my dear bloggy friend Yvonne. I am marveled by the ease with which she executes such amazing mixed media project..long way to go for me. Happy with the result for now, would love to hear how you liked it.

For this canvas,
First I applied some lovely bits of tissue paper with gesso.

Then I stenciled with modeling paste to create the lovely damask texture on the canvas. It was a single border stencil, which i repeated multiple times to get the texture on entire canvas.
Then I applied some brown acrylic paint on the border, to distress the edges. Embellished with the bicycle, Eiffel tower, and Merilyn Monroe. Used a beautiful frame for her.

Though the  embellishment matched, but I did not feel a cohesive look in the canvas. Did some stamping on the edges to add more depth to the canvas. Created the bunting from vegetable mesh and old magazine paper. Applied pink glitter in the frame and flowers. Did some more stamping and used rub ons.
I thought this is the final one now.

But then an idea stuck ! I colored the frame black with a white board marker and viola..got my focal point :)
Applied modge podge. Also used distress glitter and white mica flakes sent to me by Yvonne to complete the finishing :)

I love my dad! Mixed media canvas made my little one

Hi friends

Sharing with you today a canvas that me and my little one made for her dad on his birthday. Loved the process and the outcome!
My little one does not call her father Dad, its pappa in our house, but the style queen that she is! and with all the accent she is catching from the cartoons, she would sometime call him dad..and we are amused to hear that from the little one :)
As soon as DH comes home, the little missy wants his phone or tab to play with. He would say no, but she would bring out her hand and say "Promise" (that she will give it back soon)...awww can anyone say no to that!!

Here are the steps that we too to make this:
1. First we applied masking tape on the canvas. Took three colors, yellow, blue and pink and let my little one have fun! Then after she used up all the color..I showed her the magic by removing the masking tape.
She was excited to see the outcome..but was not happy..she thought mumma we'll have to put more paint..it has so much white space..ok madam! your wish is my command :)
2. After it got completely dry, I put some color directly on the canvas and showed her the amazing texture we can create using our simple hair comb! I had tried tis for the first time and we both loved the texture!
3. I wanted to use my little one's hand print on the canvas to give it a personal touch. We did a hand printing session and little S printed her hand on the canvas in red. But it was not very visible, so I decided we'll use her other hand print which we had done on a plain white paper.. So did a fuzzy cut of the hand print.
4. Next we applied some modelling paste using the flower stencil..doesnt it look pretty!
5. We stuck the hand cut out and embellished with cute little 3D stickers.
6. Sprinkeld with white distress stickles and applied mod podge with gloss finish to seal everything well and preserve the beauty of this canvas.

It is very special to me. Do let me know how you liked it.

Love - mini mixed media canvas

Hi dear friends
Hope you had a good start for the year and wish you have a fabulous month of love!
Sharing with you today a mixed media canvas I made for DH on our anniversary. This is my first attempt at mixed media, thanks to all the inspiration from my lovely bloggy pals!

I tried to make a small house filled with love, by the river side, under a tree. The tree full of delicious fruits, calm river and the brightly smiling Sun! Ah, a perfectly calm and serene life :)

Started by giving this mini canvas a layer of paint. Stuck packing paper to give the texture.
Had a house paper paper clip, perfect for my house. Painted the tree and embellished it by quilling. It has some birds from a pattern paper. The house is filled with Love brad from purple pumpkin and some pink stones. Made a river with blue mini beads. The Sun is a button from purple pumpkin. The sand is acrylic color on the crushed tissue.

I love my smiling Sun and the happy feeling I get every time I look at this lovely scene. how did you like it?
