The lovely teddy image from Penny Black was coloured with Copic Markers.

Best Wishes

Wow can you believe it, there are only 7 weeks until Christmas!  How fast has this year flown, just crazy.

It is also the start of a new challenge at Bizzy Becs Store Blog and our challenge this month is 'Anything Goes'.

I have been playing with one of my new Darkroom Door stamps, Robin isn't it devine, so very cute.  I stamped it onto some watercolour paper and coloured it with Distress Ink Pads in Weathered Wood and added a touch of  Scattered Straw for the beak.

I also used Spellbinder Petite Circles and a Lawn Fawn die - Tag You're It.  This was teamed up with some gorgeous Green Tara Roses in various sizes.  The sentiment best wishes is a new Tim Holtz stamp Simple Sayings and is from my own stash.

Bizzy Becs online store has a great selection of  Stamps, Distress Ink Pads, Dies, Flowers and other goodies  for all your crafting needs, so pop on over and check it out. MFT dies have just been added to the store too!

Also remember that if there is something you would like that is not listed just drop Bec an email and she will let you know if it can be sourced.

Words that Inspire

Hi, well can you believe how many sleeps are left until Christmas.  This year has just flown by, so so scary.

Recently I joined on online group that use inspiring quotes as Art Journal Prompts and it is so much fun.  Today I would like to share with you the first of my journal pages inspired by a quote by Maya Angelou ~ Be a Rainbow in someone else's Cloud!

The background is a paper napkin with skeleton leaves which I attached to my journal with gel medium.  I then gessoed over the napkin to tone down the leaves onto which I sprayed Dylusions Ink Sprays and spritzed them heavily with water so that the coloured pooled and ran.

The colours used are Bubblegum Pink, Lemon Zest, Fresh Lime, Squeezed Orange, Vibrant Turquoise,  London Blue and White Linen.

As I know that Dylusions Inks will always move when wet I sealed the area that was to be  stamped with Schmincke Universal  Fixative and allowed it to dray thoroughly  before applying the paint.

The image is a Darkroom Door Line Art Stamp called  "Leafy Lady" which I stamped onto the page, hand drew shoulders and coloured the face and shoulders  with Ceramcoat acrylic paints, Molotow markers and Prisma colour pencils.

A reminder that there is still still time to join us for this months "Anything Goes" challenge at Bizzy Becs and that the Coupon Sale has been extended to the 31st October so hop on over and check out the recently added goodies at the store.

Thanks for dropping by, have a fabulous crafty week.

Box Card

Hi just dropping in to show a Box Card that I made recently.  These have been very popular around the internet and Pinterest, so thought I would like to have a go and make one too!  There are lots of different size box card tutorials out there but this one took my fancy as it folds to fit a standard envelope.  This suited my needs as the card was to be posted.

To embellish my card I have used items that are available to purchase/order from Bizzy Becs store here.

Poppystamp die - Vintage Bird Cage and Nested Bird, flowers ribbon and sentitment.  The patterned paper and cardstock are from my own stash.

Hope you are all having a fabulous week, sadly for me holidays are over and its back to school tomorrow for a new school term.

Until next time, happy crafting.

Hi hope everyone is surviving this cold weather we have been having, absolutely freezing and there is still more to come.

Today I would like to share with you a card I made for friends birthday this week.   I have used some light molding paste through a feather stencil from crafters workshop  for the background and then layered die cuts of "The Feather Set" by Impression Obsession which you can purchase from Bizzy Becs, here.  The flowers are also from Bizzy Becs here  and the ribbon is from my own stash.

The sentiment is a freebie which is available from Bizzy Becs store blog together with lots of others.  (just remember if you use them please don't claim them as your own - give credit to Bec)

Don't forget there is still time to join us for this months "Anything Goes" challenge and also pop on over to the store  and check out the Stock-take sale.

Seraphina Heart

I just love using my  Memory Box dies, and for my card I have used  "Seraphina Heart"  and  "Cupid Heart".  These dies and a whole lot more are available to order via the Bizzy Becs online store here.

The number 25 is a blank chipboard that I have had for that long that the sticky back is no longer sticky.  I have painted it with silver paint and when dry used Treasure Gold in silver to enhance the colour.  The bling is also Kaiser.

Tea Light Candle Holder

Hi everyone.

We are just starting our 3rd week of 30+ and have to say I am so over it.  Cannot wait until we have some nights were the temp is around 12 -15c so we can get some sleep and the house can cool down some.

Anyhow,  today I would like to share with you an idea I found some time ago on the internet and have been busting to try it out.  It also happens to fit very well with this month challenge at Bizzy Becs - Love/Friendship.  It would sit very nicely on a table with a bunch of roses for a romantic dinner for two.

I had a lot of fun doing this and have recycled a Vegemite Jar, some tissue paper, a split ring, an old bead, some used black ribbon.  The butterfly charm was in a card making kit which are currently out of stock and are normally found here at Bizzy Becs.

The stamps used are all Stamp It and there is a great selection available for pre order at Bizzy Becs here. I have used Air Balloon, Traditional Cameral, Journal Cage and an old French Script and they were stamped onto the tissue paper with a black Archival Ink Stamp Pad.  To attach the tissue paper I used a gel medium onto the back of the tissue paper and jar and when it was dry went over the tissue paper to seal it further.

Thanks for looking hope you have had a wonderful weekend.

Happy creating

Christmas Joy!

Hi everyone, with 3 sleeps to go before Christmas I hope that everyone is on track with their shopping, cooking, etc and can now sit back relax and enjoy.

Today I would like to share with you one of the last Christmas cards I will be making for this year.  I am loving the clean and simple lines of this and have incorporated a new technique called "Ombre" which is a hot trend at the moment around crafting circles.  Ombre means a colour gradient going from light to dark and or dark to light.

For my background sky  I have used Tim Holtz distress stamps, Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Faded Jeans and for the foreground I have used  Shabby Shutters,  Crushed Olive and Forrest Moss.  What is exciting about these are that they are a new preorder at Bizzy Becs online store and you can order them right here.

Also  used are Memory Box Dies 'Joy' and 'Precious Snowflake'.  Memory Box dies together with a fabulous assortment of dies are available for preorder in store here.

I have used Diamond Dust on the snowflake and have flicked Dr PH Martins Pen White onto the background to represent snow.  Not that we have snow where I live but thought it looked pretty.

The trees are stamped with one of my favourite Stampin Up stamps 'Lovely as a tree' and I have embossed them with white embossing powder to create a silhouette effect.

I am also entering my card into a challenge currently being run at STAMPlorations   'stamping &and silhouettes'.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year.

Happy crafting

Also used are elements from Bec's cardmaking kit #1 (pearls, ribbon & birthday greeting) there is a great range of Christmas and Card Making Kits available in store here.   The lace used was also purchased from Bec and there is a great range available to purchase here.  So pop on over and check them out together with all the other goodies that are currently being offered at special prices, there is something for everyone.

I have used copics to colour her with and had a bit of play using shades of red to tip the hair.  I must say I am very pleased with the result and given her a spotty dress.

Tag It!

Woohoo its November and that means it is time for another challenge at Bizzy Becs.  The challenge for this month is to create a Tag.  Now it can be a stand alone tag or it can be a tag somewhere on your creation and is by DT Michelle.

There is a fabulous prize on offer again this month a Tiddly Inks stamp "Beach Babe".  These stamps are relatively new to Bizzy Becs and are very cute.  You can find them here.

For my tag I have had a play with a new background that I recently was shown called "Alcohol Float"  it was lots of fun playing with the alcohol inks and gesso and am pleased with the overall effect.  I used a combination of Pool, Juniper, Sandal & Sailboat Blue, these are from my own stash.  Prior to inking I used a spellbinder M -bossability folder called Ornament Iron and there are a few different ones that you can pre order from Becs store here.

Also used on the tag is a Blue Butterfly Digi stamp called " Little Santa holding a present" these are available at Bizzy Becs here and there are lots of categories to choose from.  He is coloured with Copics and the fur on his outfit is painted with Aleenes True Snow.   I also used  the Memory Box die Frostyville Wreath which was a Christmas release from last year and creatively cut it apart and used the snowflakes which I covered in Crystal Stickles.  Memory Box dies can be preordered at here plus there are lots of other brand dies available.

The tree is Tim Holtz Pine Tree die cut from grunge board and coloured up with Distress Paints, the tips of the tree I painted with the True Snow also from my own stash.    At the bottom of the tag is Green Tara Burlap Ribbon  in coffee and is available to purchase in store here in a fabulous range of colours.  The Merry Christmas at the bottom is from my own stash and are metal  gift tags that I purchased from K-Mart at the end of Christmas a few years back.

Don't forget to pop on over to the Store Blog  and check out the fabulous inspiration from the other Design Team girls.

Looking forward to seeing your creations, happy crafting.

Celebrate

Hi everyone,

Well this school term is certainly back in full swing, we are part way through week 2 and it is busy busy.  Lots of house keeping and finishing off getting things ready for teachers for reports and then it will be end of term and you guessed it, holidays.

In the meantime still trying very hard to keep on creating and today I would like to share with you a non-traditional Christmas card I have  made.

I recently purchased some Frantage Embossing Enamel that I seen used on lots of Magnolia cards and thought I would give it go.  Its funny stuff to use have to heat from underneath lol forgot a few times and it went flying plus it moves when you heat so a bit tricky.  I will keep on trying to perfect it, not unhappy with the results unfortunately the glitter element of it doesn't photograph well but its there.

I have used the following:

                              Magnolia Stamp  - Ballerina Tilda
Spellbinder Dies -  Petite Ovals and Floral Ovals
Patterned Paper  - Bizzy Becs card making kit
Star Embellishment -  Bizzy Becs Christmas card Kit
                              Copic Markers
My Favourite Things  - Notched Tag die and stamp
                              Frantage Embossing Enamel
                              Ribbon from own stash

Bizzy Becs has a fabulous range of goodies with new things available for pre-order regularly.  Check them out here, and at reduced prices.

Don't forget there is still time to join us for this months challenge.

Thanks for dropping by

Happy crafting

Friends are Flowers

Well what a weekend we have had.

Our local football team the Dockers made history yesterday and are off to their first  Grand Final next week, so very exciting for them and their fans.

I have spent a fabulous weekend with friends making another altered book which was just fantastic.  It is not finished yet as there are a few more pages to add and then I will share the finished product.  I am however very happy with what I have done so far.

Today I would like to share a tag that I made one of about 20 that I will be making for Christmas.  I have used an stamp that is currently available as a preorder from Bizzy Becs here called "Friends are Flowers" and is from Tiddly Inks.  There are also lots of others available too!

Also used is a new Memory Box die called "Christmas" that is also available to preorder in store here.

There is still plenty of time to join us in this months challenge at Bizzy Becs Challenge Blog here for our "Stitching - Faux or Real" Challenge.

Until next time happy crafting.
