Haunted Mansion Halloween Party

And my next party feature goes to this spooky HAUNTED MANSION HALLOWEEN PARTY submitted by Danielle Arcese of Cutie Putti Paperie. Danielle threw this party for a 10th birthday- Halloween style! I bet all the guests had a blast! I just love all the food with the appropriate halloween themed labels. So much detail went into this celebration!

Danielle is offering 15% off ANYTHING in her shop to all my followers this month! Hurry and take advantage of the discount because October is almost over! Use coupon code KARA15 at checkout!

Here is what Danielle said about the party- "I created a spooktackular Haunted Mansion printable party collection this year for Halloween, that is now available in my Etsy shop. I had a friend when I was growing up who had her birthday around Halloween, and she always had a halloween themed party. She hated it, but I thought it was amazing! What could be better them a costume party birthday, and even more fun to set the scene by transforming your home into the infamous Haunted Mansion!

I used gothic style text on an antiqued paper background for all of the paper goods. Spooky bats, skulls, and spiders adorn the items as well.

For the table I was able to find great items in my local Home Goods and Michael's craft stores to set the mood.
Food Items:
Tombstone Brownies- I found a super cute skeleton parts chocolate mold at Michaels. Bake and cut brownies into squares, chocolate frosted the tops and added brownie crumble to look like dirt. Lastly I bought white chocolate melts to make the skeletons and added them to the top.

Chocolate Coffins-
Again I found a chocolate coffin mold at Michaels, and used dark chocolate melts to make them. The molds are super easy to use. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler and pour into mold. After 15min in the fridge they are ready, and they pop out of the mold easily. I added a collection of white chocolate skeleton bones to each one, and lined them up in a rectangular vintage mirrored glass dish lined with crumbled brownies to look like dirt.
Bat Juice- Green Powerade with a little added green food coloring to darken the juice.
Wax Vampire fangs- were found at my local grocery store displayed on metal skeleton arms serving spoons (Homegoods)
Skeleton Fingers- This mold was also found at Michaels. The mold is specifically made for pretzel rods. Fill mold with white chocolate and insert pretzel rods before cooling in the fridge.

The cracked mirror pedestals I used for the cupcakes were candle holders found at Michaels.

I snagged a super cool scary hologram portrait at Home Goods. At one angle its a creepy old man face, and from another it transforms to a skeleton. Great for setting the mood, looks like it came right off the walls of a true haunted mansion.

For the final touches I created POISON chocolate bar wrappers, for goulish girls and boys to take home with them. The back reads "You survived the Haunted Mansion" with a warning that reads "May contain bat parts".

The thank you cards read "Thank you! Beware of hitchhiking ghosts that may have followed you home!!" One of my favorite tag lines from the original Haunted Mansion ride at Disney.

The whole collection is available in my Etsy shop here!"

Vintage Halloween Dessert Table

My next party feature goes to this fabulous VINTAGE HALLOWEEN DESSERT TABLE submitted by Elise Butler of Sweet Scarlet Designs. Are you ready for Halloween? It has definitely crept up on me! If you still want to plan a fun halloween party but don't have the time to get everything together then look no further than this! You can purchase this whole DIY printable/downloadable Halloween suite for only $6 HERE! So cute.
This is what Elise said about the party- "My vision for this party was to create a Vintage-style Halloween Dessert Table and to convey the message of Halloween using only typography. I like the old-world feel, it reminds me of 'old-west catalogues', with a little Steam Punk thrown in. I also like the monochrome palette and the airy lightness of the table. I envision this party to be a sophisticated Halloween Cocktail or Dinner Party."

Bewitching Halloween Party

Hello! So very sorry for the lack of posts this past week. I was on vacation and had very limited internet access. I thought that the connection was going to be a lot better. I apologize! But, I am now back and ready for a great week!

My next party feature goes to this wonderful BEWITCHING HALLOWEEN PARTY submitted by Frog Prince Paperie. The second I opened Paula's email I knew I had to feature this party. I just love it. All the desserts are so cute and clever. Take a look at those doughnuts on broom sticks! SO darling. I also love the witch silhouette's & witch hats on the spoon ends. You did a wonderful job, Paula! Halloween Dessert Table

Today I am so excited to feature this  HALLOWEEN DESSERT TABLE submitted by Marisol Figueroa of Modishly Delish! Seriously, such a cute halloween party. The milk ghost bottles...oh MY. LOVE THEM. Everything is just beautiful, Marisol. You are so talented!

Here is what Marisol said about the party- Boo! So, Halloween is right around the corner and it is a very special holiday in my house as it is my husbands birthday. This year he will be 31 on the 31st! For this table I designed a ”Spooky Chic” Halloween Printable Collection that is now available for purchase in my Etsy store. The design incorporates ghosts, bats and a chevron print using only the colors black, white and gray.  I went with this monochromatic color scheme so that those who decided to purchase my printable collection would be able to coordinate it with other colors of their choice. So for example if you wanted a hot pink Halloween party or you wanted to use the color purple, you would not be limited whatsoever! For this design I went with a chartreuse and teal color scheme to use as backing on my paper goods. For the desserts I mainly went with orange. Are you currently planning your Halloween festivities? It’s never too early to start, as I always say! Stores tend to sell out fast!

For the table I made a table linen out of burlap. I also made a ruffled table runner out of plain black cotton fabric. I found the branch in the backyard, spray painted it black. I bought a pack of faux orange leaves and also spray painted them black (leaving some orange visible), then hot glued them onto the branch. The coffins were also painted black and filled with moss, then I layed the skeleton inside.
My mom made the white meringue ghosts and we hung them from the branch using pieces of the dead moss, she did a great job!
Don’t you just love my milk ghosts? I really wanted to do something different to incorporate the beverage, something I hadn’t seen before. So during my thinking I was literally staring at my Zephyrhills Aquapod water bottle, lightbulb! I ripped the bottle wrap and cap plastic and voila, the shape of a ghost somewhat. I cut out pieces of  black cardstock to make the eyes and mouth, filled them with milk and displayed a black and white straw! Adorable huh?
My new favorite tool is the wave punch I bought at Joann’s recently to make the backing of the cupcake toppers. I thought it was a better alternative to the scalloped and plain circle punch. Love it!
Behind the mousse cups you can kind of see the bat shaped grilled cheese sandwiches. I used a bat shaped cookie cutter for those and topped them with my printable food flag.
I wanted the favor tags in my Halloween Printable collection to be different. Using the ghost motif I designed I enlarged the image and added “thank you” and cut them out. They do take a little more time but love the way they look with the chartreuse ribbon and mini favor bag!"
