October 31st, 2013 - Our first Halloween in the new house
I can't say how thankful I am to have a good relationship with our seller. I feel like I text her every other day about random things related to Northern KY. For example, do you have a house sitter you recommend? the down low on the neighbors? what color paint is in the powder room? the best dry cleaner? and how many trick or treating kiddos should I plan for?
Thank goodness I did ask her that or I would have not been prepared. Let me tell you, they came out of the woodwork. The weather here could not have been more crappy for those lil ghosts and goblins. Rainy, windy and 45 degrees. Yucky with a capital Y!
That did not stop them from coming though! In about 45-50 minutes we had at least 75-90 lil kiddos and boy were they cute. It then came a torrential down pour and we called it an early night and turned out all the exterior lights. Luckily we did not run out of candy. Who wants to be the new neighbor on the block that runs out of candy??? Not this gal!
Mission Accomplished!
Here's a lil look into our evening....
I was ready in my fuzzy vest (and might i add layers and layers of clothes), ear warmers and oodles of candy in my bucket.
The doggies didn't exactly know what to think about all the costumes, but they settled pretty fast.
And since Halloween ended early in our neighborhood due to inclement weather, we had a little fun of our own.
Of course the doggies had to have their costumes.
Uggie was less than thrilled about being Buzz Lightyear. Sorry Uggie Sue, it was the only one that would come close to fitting you. Maybe we can work on that figure before next year.
And my sweet Bailey Boy was Nemo
I could just squeeze the love right out of him.
Let me just say that I am not the biggest fan of halloween. In fact, we hardly ever do big costume parties and all that jazz. For the past three years, we have enjoyed spending the evening at home... handing out candy to kiddos in our neighborhoods and entertaining ourselves with the doggies and their costumes. I wouldn't change a thing either.
Hope y'all had a great Halloween. Now bring it on Thanksgiving. I can't wait for you!
