Photoshoot

Today TJam decided she was going to blog me. She wanted a good shot of me pouncing on something (but she preferred it not to be alive. Wimp.) She lined up the camera.

I pounced. She shot.

Too slow.

Next, I pounced and she took probably the most unflattering picture of me it is possible to take. This is probably what I'll look like when I'm a ghost. With one eye.

Next, she pressed focus first, and then I pounced. I guess she doesn't know how to shorten the shutter speed yet. *Shakes head in despair*

And all this time, Beanz slept. No need to worry about shutter speed for her this weekend.

Karma

It was a beautiful day today, so we went for a walk in the woods and TJam took her camera.

It all started well, TJam taking pictures of us...

I wasn't jealous when TJam took a picture of Chips

but then TJam started messing around with the settings on her camera and neglecting us

So I totally photobombed her scenic attempts.

The balance of the world is restored.

Rubbish Photography

TJam did not start well when trying to get decent photos of me and Beanz.

This one of Beanz the Cheshire Cat was the most comedy of all...

Eventually we did manage to pull a little pose...

...and finally Beanz and I practised our "It wasn't me" faces, because you never know when you are going to need one of those.

Autumn

Autumn* is here...

... and with it, misty mornings...

...for us to play Hounds of the Baskervilles to our hearts' content :)

We have eerie effect with rising suns, mist and water

and you can always find a good stick to chew
(although the health and safety brigade don't like this, but they will have to catch me first!)

* That's Fall to our American friends :) and anyway, it is more like winter now

Yawning at Art

TJam saw this tractor doing its work, and got all arty and carried away with texture or somesuch. She likes to zoom in on this and look at the contrast of the pre and post plough. Me, I like to imagine the taste of it when they fertilise it and Beanz and I will run all over it, eating muck and being chased by TJam, who has no chance of catching us.

Then TJam got a shot of Beanz and was lining up a reflection or whatever.

She has been watching too much TV and a photo of me is conspicuous by its absence.

Perspective

When TJam lays down, I look much bigger.
The rugby pitch looks much wonkier.

And the clouds are just cool. Although does this mean it is not long dry?

Proud of Ourselves

- by TJam

Well, kind of. Below is our first example of video on our blog. It was supposed to show Beanz chasing squirrels.

Ok, so all you actually see is her running off.

There was some great footage of her trying to climb a tree. Unfortunately, I didn't press "start" til I thought I was pressing,"stop" so all I actually filmed was the side of my leg.

So, anyway, here is a beautiful view we saw this weekend. Does it get any better than this?

Heaven - by Chips

In today's spirit of photography, I submit my piece.

Gratuitous Photography

It's not that I haven't got anything else to do, just that I get distracted. I like to think of it as following every lead. Anyway, I was searching a subscription to Dogs Today magazine and I had a look at their referal stats (in an un-geek-like way) and saw an interesting blog name, which took me into to the hitherto unexplored blogoshpere. And the blog with the interesting name turned out to be pretty inspirational in many ways, and the reason everyone now has spy names and not their real names on this blog, but today's way in which it inspired me is photography. That is, people taking photos because they are interesting or beautiful, and not just to tell a story.

So, today's theme is photography. I clutched my Canon Powershot A520 and off we went for our morning walk. Here are the results. If you are a photography expert and these are rubbish, be so kind as to not tell me please. Thank you.

Chips in fern

I even managed a half decent pic of Beanz.
If you count looking like the Joker out of Batman as half decent.

Carcass

Firstly, my sincere apologies to those who berated TJam for not photographing the "tapeworm on the carpet" scene. I can only imagine how you are going to take the following news.

Whilst out walking, I dived gleefully into some long grass. TJam smelt me as I came out carrying a decomposing rabbit carcus seething and dripping with maggots. It was a wrestle to prize it from me clamped jaws, but the adrenaline rush helped her no end. And the sorry thing about all this, was that TJam's first thought was, "I haven't got my camera!" What does that say about her?

Lucid Dreaming

Here are some cool branches that TJam couldn't resist getting a picture of. Age makes you start getting all appreciative of that stuff.

And here is an unusual picture of Carlsberg.

Bamgee is back from Cambodia!

On a completely unrelated topic. TJam has always remembered her dreams, and often done reality tests which showed she was awake, when actually she was asleep. Pinching herself and then thinking "oh, it must be real then". Anyway a few nights ago, TJam was having a nightmare, and as she was being carried into the medieval torture chamber (don't ask) she suddenly thought to herself, "wait, this is a dream. I can wake up" and the dream melted away and she dreamt she woke up.

Only then she thought she was awake but actually it was just another dream…. Anyway, last night she suddenly realised she was dreaming. So she thought to herself, "great, that means I can fly if I want to" so she just jumped off the ground and she was soaring through the air. Of course, then she was so excited she forgot it was a dream so in her mind she genuinely was flying around like a delirious nutter.

TJam has wanted to do lucid dreaming forever, and then 2 in a month. Apparently you have to practise. You have to reality check. I wonder if it is because she has started meditating and kind of reality checking regularly throughout the day, and that now he is doing it in her sleep as well. It is all bizarre but kind of interesting and TJam is doing a characteristically obsessive web search on the joys of lucid dreaming.

Incidentally, "nutter" is not in the microsoft spellcheck. What are they thinking?
