Deze week is er zo'n leuke challenge voor Bellarific Friday: paperpiecing.

Dit is op het moment, naast borduren, mijn favoriete techniek.

Niet meedoen is dus geen optie!

This week there's a real nice challenge for Bellarific Friday: paperpiecing.

At the moment, this is, besides stitching, my favorite technique.

Not participating is not an option!

Ik wilde geen gewone strook papier gebruiken voor deze kaart, dus ik heb eens iets anders geprobeerd.

Ik weet nog niet zo goed wat ik er van vind, maar goed, het zit er op.

Ik kan me nog herinneren dat ik door het huis liep op mijn moeders hoge hakken.

Ruby van Mo Manning brengt dat gevoel weer helemaal terug!

Het is op een foto altijd zo moeilijk te zien dat je een spica-pen hebt gebruikt. Haar ketting en oorbellen zijn hiermee gekleurd.

Ik heb de schets van Quixotic gebruikt, maar je mag bij hun challenges alleen maar stempels of papier van bepaalde merken gebruiken. SEI en Bella horen daar niet bij.

Ik vond de schets zo leuk, dat ik nog een ander kaartje ga maken, maar dan met een merk wat op hun lijstje staat!

I have the sketch from Quixotic, but you can only use stamps or papers from certain companies. SEI and Bella don't belong.

I liked the sketch so much, that I will use another card, but with a brand that's on their list!

De kaart op het Bella-blog is een andere dan die je hier ziet.

Ik had de bewerkte foto in een verkeerd formaat opgeslagen. Emily vroeg me om een jpeg-afbeelding en toen heb ik per ongeluk deze gestuurd.

Ach ja, het zal de warmte wel zijn!

Vaderdag ~ Father's Day

Ik heb deze kaart al weken geleden gemaakt voor de vader van een meisje uit mijn groep.

Hij zit voor 7 maanden in Afghanistan en hij is/was bijna jarig.

Ze vroeg mij om een kaart te maken waar alle kinderen van mijn groep en die haar zusje hun naam in kunnen zetten.

Ik heb toen de schets van Friday Sketchers van die week gebruikt, maar vergat helemaal om hem te publiceren.

Nou ja, vergeten, door de problemen met mijn lenzen heb ik de laatste tijd amper achter mijn pc gezeten.

En weet je wat? Ik heb het niet eens echt gemist.....

I made this card a few weeks ago for the father of one of the girls in my class.

He's in Afghanistan for 7 months and his birthday is/was coming up.

She asked me to make him a card where all the kids from my class and from her sisters class could write their name in.

I used that weeks sketch from Friday Sketchers, but totally forgot to publish it.

Well, forgot, 'cause of the problems with my lenses I hardly sat behind my pc.

And you know what? I didn't even really miss it.....

Nadat de kaart klaar was, vond ik de linkerbovenhoek nog erg leeg.

Ik heb toen 3 kurken knopen in die hoek geplakt.

Ik ben alleen vergeten om daarna nog een foto van de kaart te maken.

After the card was finished, I thought the upperleft corner was quit empty.

I glued 3 cork buttons in that corner.

But totally forgot to take a photo after that.

Challenge # 20 bij Pile It On is deze week: out of the box.
Ik heb even heel goed na moeten denken wat ik daar mee moest doen.
Juist wel een doosje? Iets heel anders doen dan ik normaal doe? Ik had echt geen idee.

Ik besloot om eens een hele andere kaart te maken dan ik normaal doe: veel 'white space', weinig dp, geprikte gaatjes zonder borduurgaren en een uitgeknipte afbeelding.
Heel erg 'buiten mijn doos'!

Op het blog van Mercy Kerin zie ik steeds van die hele mooie kaarten met juist deze dingen.
Ik heb dan ook schaamteloos gebruik gemaakt van een van de voorbeelden die op haar blog staat.

Challenge # 20 at Pile It On this week is: out of the box.
I really had to think about this one.
Make a box? Something totally different from what I normally do? I had no idea.

I decided to go with something different from what I normally do: lots of 'white space', just a bit of dp, punched holes without embroidery floss and a cut out image.
Really 'out of my box'!

On Mercy Kerin's blog are lots of amazing cards with just these things.
I have shamelessly (sp?) used one of the examples that are on her blog.
