250 LOchallenge

Ik heb besloten om te stoppen met deze challenge.
De laatste tijd merk ik dat ik behoeft heb om te scrappen, maar dat er niks uit mijn handen komt omdat ik eerst oud materiaal 'moet' gebruiken.
Ik merk dat ik mijn zin weer begin te verliezen en dat is natuurlijk niet de bedoeling.
Ik heb nog genoeg papier liggen waar ik enveloppen van kan snijden, maar zo wil ik de challenge niet eindigen. Dan maar liever helemaal stoppen.

Ik ga wel een nieuwe challenge met mezelf aan en die challenge is om 100 pagina's te maken dit jaar.
Ik ben al een eindje op weg, ik heb nu 4 pagina's af. (Jullie hebben er nog een tegoed, die kun je zien op 7 februari.)

I have decided to end this challenge.
Lately I feel the need to scrapbook, but nothing comes out of my hands 'cause I 'have' to use old stuff first.
I'm losing the fun of it again and that can't be the point.
I have enough papers to make envelopes of, but I don't want to end the challenge this way. I rather quit all together.

I'm going to challenge myself again though, I want to finish 100 pages this year.
I already finished 4 so far. (I still owe you one, it will be published on the 7th of February.)

Weird weekend + West Side Story + # 237

Afgelopen zondag had ik met mijn nichtje afgesproken. Ze wilde me zien en kijken hoe het met me gaat. (Redelijk tot goed, mag ik wel zeggen. Er spookt steeds van alles door mijn hoofd, maar over het algemeen gaat 't redelijk tot goed.)
Zij zou vrijdags en zaterdags iets met haar moeder gaan doen en dan ook een nachtje in een hotel slapen.
Ze vonden een leuke aanbieding in Haarlem, maar die was voor 3 nachten. Mijn nichtje wilde dit alleen maar doen als ze mij op zondag kon zien. Ze wilde perse dat die afspraak door ging.

Om daarvoor te zorgen, zijn mijn moeder en ik zaterdag ook naar Haarlem gegaan. We zouden een nachtje in hetzelfde hotel slapen.
1 nacht werden er 2, want het weer was hier in het zuiden echt heel erg. Mijn vader belde om te zeggen dat hij, en mijn broer ook, liever hadden dat we nog een dag daar bleven.

Zo gezegd, zo gedaan. Wij offeren ons wel op!
Zondagmiddag zijn we met 4-en naar de bioscoop gegaan en hebben we de film 'Brothers' gezien.
Echt een aanrader!

Verder veel gekletst, gegeten, gedronken en heel veel gelachen!
Maar geen foto's. Zoals het een echte scrapper betaamt, laat ik mijn camera thuis.....

I had arranged to see my cousin last sunday. She wanted to see me and see for herself how I'm doing. (Not to bad, I must say. Things are flying around in my head all the time, but I'm not doing to bad.)
On friday and saturday she was planning to go somewhere with her mom and spent a night in a hotel.
They found a nice arrangment in Haarlem (Yep, that's where 'Harlem' got its name!), but that was for 3 days. My cousin only wanted to do this if she could still meet me on sunday. She would not let this date pass.

To make sure we would see each other sunday, me and my mom also went to Haarlem. But just for 1 night.
1 night turned into 2, 'cause the weather here in the south was awfull. My dad called to tell us that he, and my brother, wanted us to stay an extra day.

So we did. We didn't mind the sacrifice!
Sunday-afternoon we went to the film 'Brothers'. Amazing! You really have to see it!

For the rest we talked (a lot!), ate, drank, laughed even more than we talked!
But no photos.
Like a true scrapbooker, I forgot to bring my camera.....

Gisteren ben ik met mama naar West Side Story geweest in het Circustheater in Scheveningen.
Toen we van de zomer hier naartoe gingen, zagen we dat 'ie weer naar Nederland zou komen.
Mama heeft 'm ooit al wel eens gezien, voor mij was het de 1e keer.
De film heb ik wel meerdere keren gezien. En ik kreeg op hetzelfde moment tranen in mijn ogen.....

Yesterday I went to see West Side Story with my mom.
When we were here last summer, we saw it was coming to the Netherlands again.
My mom saw it already, but it was my 1st time.
I have seen the film several times. And I got tears in my eyes at the exact same moment.....

Eindelijk weer eens een project afgemaakt wat hier al heel lang ligt.
Ik heb dit boekje ooit gemaakt op een workshop bij AkkeFietje.
Lang geleden dat ik daar geweest ben (mei meen ik), maar aanstaande zaterdag ga ik weer.
Heerlijk een dagje scrappen en beppen met de meiden.

I once made this book on a workshop at AkkeFietje.
It's been a long time since I've been there (may I believe), but I'll go there again next saturday.
A blissful day full of scrapping and talking with the girls.

Bedankt! Kon ik eindelijk eens mijn BasicGrey Blush gebruiken. Dat stond hier maar werkloos te wezen. (Oftewel: ik wilde er niet in gaan snijden. Heb ik trouwens helemaal geen moeite meer mee!)

Thea and I both have a very obvious favorite color. For one it's blue, for the other pink.
Looking at this photo you could easily combine the wrong person with those colors.

Ik vond het eerst heel moeilijk om in mijn mooie papier te gaan snijden.
Maar dat is helemaal over! Ik snijd, knip, pons, scheur en op=op!
Er is zoveel mooi papier. Als ik het perse nog eens wil gebruiken, dan koop ik er toch gewoon nog wat van?
(Heb ik bv met dit papier gedaan.)

Before I had a hard time cutting into my precious papers.
But that's ancient history! I'll cut, use punches, tear and when it's finished, it's finished!
There's so much wonderfull paper out there. And when I really want to use it again, I'll just buy some more.
(Like I did with these papers.)

Deze kruizen stonden vlakbij Checkpoint Charlie toen we in Berlijn waren.
Ik heb begrepen dat ze ze moetsen weghalen. Ik weet alleen niet waarom.

Ik ben gisteren bij Thea begonnen aan deze LO.
Mijn Sisters (Hee, meiden!) en ik proberen elke maand een dag bij elkaar te komen.
Helaas lukt het vaak niet, want het is altijd heerlijk om een dag te beppen en te scrappen.
Ik was mijn naald en draad vergeten, dus ik heb hem zover gemaakt, dat ik alleen nog maar hoefde te borduren.

Unfortunatly we don't manage every month, 'cause a day full of talking and scrapping is always great.
I forgot my needle and thread, so I made the LO as far as I could.

Journaling:
Co was al eens gaan zweefvliegen, dus toen een van de piloten vroeg of iemand in was voor wat stunts, greep hij die kans met beide handen aan.
Hij moest wel een parachute om; er zou iets fout kunnen gaan.....

Co went gliding once before, so when one of the pilots asked if someone was up for some stunts, he took this chance with both hands.
He had to wear a parachute; something could go wrong.....

In 2004 vroeg mijn broertje of ik mee wilde met zijn werk, ze gingen zweefvliegen.

Natuurlijk zei ik 'ja'!

Het was echt heel erg geweldig. Ik ben heel blij dat hij gevraagd heeft of ik mee ging.

Ik heb vaak veel moeite met 'white space' op mijn LOs, ik ga het vaak opvullen met 'spullen'.

Deze keer heb ik besloten om het gewoon zo te laten.

Op de schets van 52Sketches is het ook zo en eerlijk gezegd vind ik het best mooi.

Ik heb natuurlijk heel veel foto's gemaakt en ik heb ze allemaal laten afdrukken (het werkt voor mij het beste als ik mijn foto's gewoon in mijn handen heb) en ik heb er nu een paar uitgekozen die ik wil gaan scrappen.

Op heel wat foto's zie je alleen lucht en een heel klein zwart stipje.

In 2004 my brother asked me if I wanted to come to an event at his work, they were going gliding. (Or is it plain-gliding? Don't really know.)

Of course I said 'yes'!

It was ama!zing I'm really glad he asked me to come.

I always have trouble with white space on my LOs, I always try to fill it with 'stuff'.

This time I decided to leave it as is.

The sketch at 52Sketches was designed like this and to be honest, I like it.

I made a lot of photos, of course, and I had them all printed (it works best for me when I can actually hold my photos in my hands) and now I have chosen a few that are scrap-worthy.

On a lot of photos you see a lot of sky and a very small dot.

Bij mij gaat het echt op een neer.

Volgens mij zijn ze al voor het 2e jaar bezig, maar ik kan de schetsen van vorig jaar nergens vinden.

There are some great sketches on this site.

I think they are doing this for the 2nd year, but I can't find the sketches from last year anywhere.

Ik vind het altijd heel leuk om mezelf als klein meisje te zien.
Gelukkig maakte mijn vader vroeger veel foto's!

Afgelopen zaterdag zei Zus dat ik niet 'echt' borduurde, omdat ik soms de randen alleen borduur en dan pas het papier vastplak. (Is zeker als je werkt met cardstock is dat vaak makkelijker.)
Maar deze is helemaal echt! ;0))

I like seeing myself as a little girl.
Gladly my dad made lots of photos when I was little!

Last saturday Sis said that I didn't 'really' stitch, 'cause sometimes I only stitch the edges and then glue it all together. (When you're working with cardstock, that's much easier.)
But this one is all real! ;0))
