"Celebrate" Layout by Helen Tilbury

Hi everyone!  HELEN here with my last layout designed for Inkido.
I will certainly miss designing with these beautiful, shabby products,
I have had a lot of fun for the last 9 months or so..

I had a fantastic time creating this layout with quite a few
very pretty Inkido papers as well as Inkido flowers & leaves
too, PLUS an Inkido "Grungy Corner"stamp!
I used this month's mood board as my inspiration & was inspired by the grungy/
antique feel of the books, the topic {academic} & the lovely mellow burnt umber
colours.  What stunning images!  I do hope you will play with us this month!!

My background paper comes from the "Beautiful Memories" collection
& is called  Beige Anemon.  I deepened the colour slightly using some
glittery gold sprays & added some texture paste through a brick-wall stencil,
then embossed over it whilst still wet with a bronze embossing powder.

I misted up my flowers too as they were natural calico so ready for altering.
I stamped a bit on my flowers & leaves too to add to the old look.

The Inkido "Grungy Corner"stamp is not just for corners - as you can see!

Isn't the floral paper just exquisite?  I really love this one so much!

I used 3 other Inkido patterned papers too but they were all off-cuts
from previous layouts so unfortunately I had already removed
the printed identification strip so cannot name them.

The music note paper comes in several different colourways
& I find it really versatile.  I have used it so many times!

Well I hope I have inspired you to pull out your Inkido products or to ask for them at your nearest scrapbooking store.  They are great quality papers & so romantic & shabby-chic but can be made "bolder"through altering with mists & mediums if you are after a stronger look.

Remember you have until the end of June to complete the challenge & DO NOT have to use Inkido products if you don't have them, but if you DO please point them out to us!
Goodbye from me :)

My little book...

Hello, friends!
Today I'm here to share a simple tutorial that I made for June wonderful Mood Board! It's about one of the things I love the most: Books! (I'm a Literature teacher, and books are my life!)
So, I create this project with all my love. Hope you like it!

The gorgeous Mood Board...
And the "Little Book" I create to my 7 years old sweet daughter register her childhood feelings!

Some details... flowers, pins and lace...

Now, I'll show a very simple tutorial of this project...

I used a "The Cinch", a great and usefull machine. Very easy to manage.

After binding the book, I added a piece of Inkido paper a little bit smaller than the cover.

Another pattern. I distressed the borders with a distress tool and Distress Ink Vintage Photo.

One more pattern of Inkido gorgeous papers!

Then, I used Zarza Laser Chipboards, with emboss powder. I love to use them.

Now you can add some flowers, laces and other embellishments you want! It's ready! It's so sweet!

I reaaly hope you like it!
Thanks so much for visiting us. And you are invited to participate this month, inspired on the great Mood Board about "Books"!
Have a wonderful day...

Open book card

Hi!
Finally its my turn to show you my take on the June challenge. I just LOVE this moodboard and I´m so excited to see what you´ll create inspired by this.
I chose to do a open book card with several layers. The flower I´ve made myself out of metal tape, acrylic paint and alcohol inks.

Here you can see all the wonderful layers of the book and then some details of the wonderful paper I have used.

Hugs Stina!

A card to illustrate the June challenge

Hello  everyone !

How flies the time ! June is already here, and it's already time for a new challenge with a new moddboard. Here is our new moodboard, with which we can be guided to create any project  :
What are you thinking when you look at this picture?  I immediately saw these old pages from old books, all yellowed by time.
You all have any old books at home? Well, now is the opportunity to get out these old things  !
This time, I wanted to create a card for any occasion.
I thought this color  of old paper, light brown, accorded well with light beige, yellow, cream. I also added a lot of white on my card because I wanted a very sweet card.
Small roses from Papercraftscandinavia are really great for cards, because they are small, and we always get them easily on the cards.

I used a stamp, flower + from  bird Papercraftscandinavia that I stamped in black, I cut out the floral pattern, and the bird, and I stuck them on  my card separately. This white background created a nice contrast with old paper, and it also adds a lot of sweetness, like this piece of small doily that I stuck on the edge of my card.

I applied some gesso on my papers to unify all the card.
I hope you enjoy my card, and now, i can't wait to see your   next project based on our new moodboard, you have time, all the month to create it, so don't hesitate !
