A finish for Fall

Friday was a perfect fall morning, cool weather, a bit damp but not raining and I was on the way to drop off a kid at the bus stop.

I spent most of the weekend working on a freebie from With thy Needle & Thread, Indian Summer.  Brenda posted this last October.  I had been itching to stitch something autum-ish since school started and this (along with three gables) fit the bill.

Indian Summer 9-12-10 Finish

I used Weeks 30ct Havana and DMC threads.  I changed my colors up a bit so items would show up on the dark fabric.  Im not sure how this will be finished but Im thinking a pin-keep of some sort.

I will post pic updates of other projects as soon as I locate where the camera was put away at when we unpacked.

Ouch!

I made a change in my morning that cost me.  I usually work at home in the morning and setup shop on the dining room table.  This has an unfortunate side effect of causing papers, mail and cross-stitchy stuff to pile up.  So to help combat this (and to make dinners more disaster free) I moved my work area to the desk in the kitchen.  No brainer one would think.

Apparently my feet had other thoughts and decided to pick a fight with the desk chair.  There were war wounds and one may not pull through.  Mr left pinky toe received a mortal wound (its a nice dk purple atm).  The other toes are a bit out of sorts.  Guess they’ve forgotten how everything gets tossed when the pinky’s get munched.  They are almost as bad when your backend gets all backed up and stuffy!  Everything just stops!

So after an afternoon of taking older child for his well child checkup (and 3 shots – muhahaha) and walking (limping and saying ow lots) around the store to get dinner stuffs I am parked in my chair to share a pic with you and stitch (on whatever :P)

Here is my update for Indian Summer

Indian Summer 10-26-09

I now have every color that will be used in this piece stitched at least once and so far I like how they play with the fabric.

Thwarted

by a cute fluffy kitteh.  I had grand plans to stay up late and stitch but all my plans were ruined when the fluff-ball known as Loki decided that my chest and arms should be a comfy sleeping place instead.  What can you say to that??  Being used as a pillow made me tired so off we went to bed.

Today I was able to work, start, on Indian Summer.

Next I pulled out Holly and reversed stitched sections.  But I was able to add the areas I removed and added a bit more.

I also toyed with the idea of removing the beads attached with same color thread and attach them later with Coats metallic but thought better of it.  More reverse stitching than I really wanted to do so I will continue stitching beads with same color thread where I can and where they are placed on the ends of Kreinik I will use the Coats.

Another part of my day was finding books to add to my ipod.  The local library is part of Library2Go.  Doesnt have a lot of books to choose from.  Most I can download to my PC but there are a bunch I cant to the Mac and they are for my ipod.  Speaking of which, I need to get the one book I was able to get to the mac loaded on my ipod so its ready for tomorrow!

Day 20

Oh my, twenty days into Blogtoberfest and I havent missed a day yet.

No stitchy updates.  I did pick up my Namaste buddy case for needles, scissors and other stuff.

And yes I got mine in lime green :op

I also picked up fabric for Ladies' Night.  Its 28 ct Lugana and a wonderful blue-purple overdye from Colorscapes.  I will try and get a good pic of it soon.  Not sure how well it will photograph.

More fabric was picked up for Welcome October by Brenda.  32ct (I believe) Havana.  Perfect with the colors as suggested.

Had a call from the adoption center for the kittehs and had to break the news about the name change.  Not sure why I felt bad for changing the names.  Maybe cause they were the first kitten fosters the lady had and she named them.

Many thanks for the well wishes on my battles with weights (puny lol).  I do realize that muscle is heaver than fat.  Just hard to get brain cells wrapped around that cause a lb is a lb in my brain no matter what it is.  Another surprise is how much I dont ache today with the added weights to my Monday workout.  I was expecting to really have issues as I basically upped everything by 10 – 15 lbs.  Done being MS nice guy and taking charge.  I actually feel quite good, muscle wise.  nice for a change :)
